    Hey. Just wanted to say great job on this video! Im fairly new to disc golf but have fully become obsessed and of the massive amount of CZcams DG content I’ve consumed over the last few months yours is some of the best. Awesome, precise information on brands, plastics and disc types with great voice overwork and good edits. I really hope you continue to produce this style of content.
    Thanks again.

    Love Discraft's discs. My friend only uses their discs. I play with a variety of brands but Discraft makes some of the best for sure

    If it wasn’t for Discraft I would not be playing disc golf. It’s through the use of their awesome instructional videos that I learned how to play back about 10 years ago now. They had the largest and most extensive catalog of “how to” videos on YT and there wasn’t a question I had they didn’t seem to already have a video about. I initially bought their discs out of gratitude but found they were excellent discs. Still have mostly Discraft in the bag and will be keeping that way. They are definitely my favorite and always have been. Just wish they still made the Surge!

    Very cool video, I just started throwing discraft after playing on an off almost 30 years I got tired of Innovas inconsistent molds/flight #'s. Picked up lunas, Undertaker, raptor, zeus, surge ss and was absolutely amazed that they all flew out of the box exactly how I thought they would by the flight numbers except the Luna but the Luna is still awesome. And really loving the all plastics. Discraft got a new customer for life.

      I think I’m in a similar boat. Haven’t been playing for as long but have always had innova discs. I just bought some discraft ones, which were surprisingly hard to find right now, and I can’t wait to try them out!

    Totally agree with the Zone!! I turn most discs over forehand (I throw an Ape as my main Driver). Now I can still throw hard and be super accurate at 250ft. So glad someone let me throw one. Game changer for me!

    The closest Innova has to the Buzzz (in my opinion) is their Mako3, their best selling neutral midrange, which is really just a retooled Mako with a flatter flight plate and they use the "Plus" mold technology with a more slanted inner rim. I think the Buzzz OS would be more of a competitor with either the Roc or Roc3, which like the Mako3 has a flatter top and the Plus mold.
    Regarding overstable mids, I think the Buzzz OS and the Drone make good middle-of-the-road options between the Zone and Raptor. I'm a novice-to-recreational level player and I use a Pro Pig (3 1 0 3), Star RocX3 (5 4 0 3.5), and Champion Banshee (7 3 0 3) myself.
    Love your content! The amount of time and effort you put into this one in particular is evident, and it's an amazing video to watch. Keep up the great work! I can't wait to see which manufacturer you highlight next!

    spot on with everything truly, even appreciate the transparency of explaining this from your arm speed perspective and how that might differ from average and advanced, great run down on the plastics too a lot of people ask me to explain their plastics and I was surprised how much overlap we had in opinion, I would add that discraft has a lot of old molds with beaded rims even drivers where as most brands hadnt put beads in anything faster than a mids and putters, ie stalker, predator, thrasher, but i'd add mcbeth coming from innova seemed to shape his line of discs to be lacking that bead which to some is more ideal for cleaner release where as others may rely on that bead for extra or more consistent stability

    Great video on Discraft. I started playing in 03 and only threw Innova, I did have a buzzz and a nuke but that was it. I got burnt out on the same old stuff of Innova, so I switched over to Discraft in 2018 when McBeth moved sponsors. I still bag my championship beast though...Couldn't be happier with Discraft and all the different types of plastic they make, not to mention the best pros in the world throw Discraft. RIP Gail 🙏

    i dunno about them having consistent molds. That was people biggest issue with discraft in like 05 -09 somewhere in there. The discs were wildly different which is why not a ton of people used them. I will say though almost everyone i knew through a buzz as its always been an amazing disc.

    Can you explain the best option for over-stable discs and under stable disc among different brands?

    • @keepdiscgolfweird5879
      @keepdiscgolfweird5879  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for the comment! That's a tough question to answer. The same disc might fly with radically different stability depending on the player's arm speed. Most players seem to find a manufacturer that resonates with them, and then explore up and down the disc speed and stability range within that manufacturer's range to find what is right for them. I think the major manufacturer's all provide great options throughout the range of stability.

    So would you say the Titanium is similar to Innova's GStar? I appreciate when you compare to them. I've only ever thrown Innova. Just getting back into the sport after a 15 year break. After finding out how great Discraft is doing now, not to mention their factory is less than an hour from where I live in Michigan, I've decided to try them out. I haven't made a purchase yet so I'm glad I caught this vid! TYVM!

    • @keepdiscgolfweird5879
      @keepdiscgolfweird5879  Před 3 lety +3

      IMO, closest to Gstar in feel is probably Z-FLX. I like Gstar, too (and so does Dave Dunipace). Titanium is way stiffer and I find it to be less grippy (but tough!). Maybe some other CZcamsrs will chip in with their opinion.

      @@keepdiscgolfweird5879 Hey thanks for the speedy response! Ok, I'll definitely look into a z-flx. My bag is missing an understable midrange/putter slot. Any recommendations? I have average arm speed. 330-350 is an average drive with a Valkyrie. That's about the highest speed disc I can throw backhand comfortably.

      @@keepdiscgolfweird5879 You got it right, titanium is stiffer, slicker and tougher than G Star, it only shares a somewhat similar appearance to titanium.
      G-Star is awesome in the winter Titanium no way. I have used G-Star many times at -20 degrees F it's not cracking and is still flexible.
      I've had Champion disc brake at a toasty 5°F, at just 20°F Champion/Z are stiff as a groom on his honeymoon.

    Elite X Nuke"s bomb, basically stability wise there in between a Z Nuke and a Z SS Nuke in flight.
    If a Z Nuke is too Beefy (Overstable) for you and a Z SS Nuke is too Flippy (Understable) for you, get a X Nuke for wide open hole bombs!💣💥
