    Hi Erik. Great comparison! I bought the Shadow model three months ago... and I'm in love! In Argentina this pistol costs about USD 2500... yes, very expensive. I also ordered new Lok Grips (in black with some orange parts) for this beauty! Best regards.

      Hola Daniel, esta semana compre la shadow tambien. Le tenia ganas a la 75b pero no la conseguia a buen precio, por un poco mas termine comprando esta. Lo malo es que recién la tendría para septiembre/octubre (Estoy con unas ganass, bien manija) La pudiste probar, como te fue? Recomendas alguna marca de munición??

      @@publiuscorneliusscipio2874 Felicitaciones por la compra. Mi Shadow anda perfecto. Pega donde se apunta. Ninguna traba. Como tengo máquina de recarga uso siempre municiones hechas por mí. La uso para IDPA. Suerte en la dulce espera hasta septiembre/octubre (imagino que sos también argentino por la demora que comentás... yo en marzo aproveché que había trámite urgente y en 5 días hábiles retiré la pistola de la armería). I converted my CZC SP-01 Competition, which is a hand fit and tuned standard SP-01, into a Shadow SAO (more like Super Shadow lol). I mirror polished _everything_ that moves, deleted the firing pin block by pulling the spring and plunger then lopping off the fpb lifter leg, installed a CGW Standard package trigger kit (the SAO version of the Pro package) with race hammer, shimmed the sear cage to eliminate *all* trigger sponge, installed a DPM buffer spring and CZ frame buffer pad, installed a CGW fluted and threaded barrel with a Volker Precision MK2 compensator, installed a Cross Armory pic-rail mount thumb rest to which I epoxied a full size custom molded thermoplastic thumb rest for max control and comfort, installed black Toni Systems short grips with a black anodized flared magwell, then installed a dovetail mounted optics plate with a 4-moa Shield RMS red dot. Then I had the CGW adjustable sear and the hammer hooks on the race hammer fitted and polished to perfection.
    The SP-01 platform is flat out the most badass handgun I've ever seen, the amount of things you can do to improve this already fantastic firearm is incredible. Mine now has a 1.8lb trigger pull with only .050" thousandths of total travel (just a _smidge_ under 1/16" of an inch) and the wall is only .028" from the reset with only .002"-.003" of creep measured at the middle of the flat face trigger, followed by .015" of overtravel.
    If you've got the time and skill, plus a bit of extra cash (I put over $1k into it), you can turn even a stock barebones SP-01 into a speed demon race gun for a great value, especially if you're like me and you couldn't find the higher end CZ pistols like the TSO or TS2 and had to make one themselves🙄.

    • @erik22lax
      @erik22lax  Před 11 měsíci +1

      After the basic CGW spring kit, I measured the trigger pull at 3.5 lbs. So for $50, I am happy. That was my 1st time taking it apart and putting it back together. I think I can get a little more out of it getting adjustable, sear. I just ordered another parts kit from CGW for my 75B. I am more confident now taking the 75 series apart and reassembling, but I think what you did a lot of people don't have the technical skills to do esp deleting the firing pin block safety. I don't. Sounds cool what you did to yours. ✌️

    • @TheExplosiveGuy
      @TheExplosiveGuy Před 11 měsíci +1

      @erik22lax Yeah, I sometimes forget that most gun owners don't have 17 years of machining experience lol, I worked in aerospace, medical and DOD ITAR machine shops for most of my career so this stuff is second nature to me, but at the same time I think a lot of people have more skills than they think they do, the only difficult part of the FPB delete is disassembling and reassembling the sear cage, but if you have a pair of fine-tipped tweezers or a small pick, a clean workspace and good eyes it's a pretty simple task, there are a few videos on youtube that covers the entire operation, that's where I learned how to do it. I'm pretty sure you could do it just fine on your own if you convinced yourself you can do it, half the battle is just believing in yourself and your abilities. And thanks for the compliment, I've put a lot of time and work into mine so I really appreciate it👍.

    The trigger pull is initially stagey, creepy, and gritty. After a thousand rounds that disappears. You can remove the firing pin block to further smooth and lighten the pull. You can also covert it to SAO which makes the pull even lighter and shorter. The frame and slide will wear to become more smooth over several thousand rounds.

    • @Chris09978
      @Chris09978 Před rokem

      @@erik22lax huh, that’s interesting. I do think the reasoning of why it’s expensive when it comes to carbon fiber grips or even aluminum, it’s not due to metal or material that you can sell it for around 50-70 bucks, it’s something they can do but I believe it’s due to the fact it’s made in the US and when things are made here compared to out sourced stuff it’s gets expensive and it’s just how business is they need to make a profit out of it.
      Come to think of it why are firearms so expensive lol, it’s due to these manufactures are made here at home in the US of A or in other countries and import tax is another thing too. To me I think it’s really due to the business side of things not really the fact it’s “overpriced”. Although there are somethings that I do considered to be overpriced when things are made in the US but the majority of it is what I mentioned above. I’m not an expert in business or marketing I just understand the fact when you don’t want to cut corners and such and want to make quality things in the states or in your home country it’s going to be a hefty penny for manufactures to pay out of their pockets, that’s why there’re some companies that makes things in the states and within a year later they are out of business because of how much it cost it cost to make something or have the resources in the states. In other terms if you make something that’s for $5 and you want to sell it and make all of the resources here in the US in order to make a profit out it well that’s going to be a total of around $50 for the consumer to sell compared to outsourced stuff that’s going to cost a lot less for something that’s $5 turned in $50 for the consumer and you sourced it elsewhere well it may cost $25-$30.
      I don’t know how to simplify things so beware of it begin a lengthy thing, so like I said I’m not in business or marketing if I was I might be able to cut it short but since I’m not I can’t so there’s that
