New RR Spur & New Crossing, RR Shoo-Fly & Radar Speed Checks On Fast Freight Trains With DPUs

- Railroad Construction & Maintenance Of Way Update At The Ex Shoo Fly Area & Fast Trains With Radar Speed Checks! These are Norfolk Southern and CSX trains in Richwood and Walton, Kentucky. We have Trains With DPU Locomotives on a couple of the trains. We see the brand new railroad crossing with all new railroad crossing gates and lights for the industrial railroad spur that was replaced and completely improved. We also see the new track alignment and new railroad overpass although the road that goes under the railroad bridge is still under construction. This is the biggest railroad construction project that I have ever seen.
By popular demand, I have once again brought out my radar device. The trains that I used it on were booking as you can see. Its interesting to see the train speed change as the long trains pass by. I was at one railroad crossing where both NS and CSX cross. There are way more NS trains here than CSX and I thought the train was NS until I noticed it on the CSX track. I wasn't listening to the CSX road frequency at the time but I knew an NS train was approaching. That train passed by a short time later. The CSX train had 400 axels and was 5,481 feet long. The NS defect detectors don't give any information other than that there are no defects. We see several different areas in the video since I get bored staying at one spot. I never post videos like that. What about that last train with the DPU that was going under me? Was that cool or what?! Please leave comments on my videos and Merry Christmas!!

Now it's time for the bridge crew to pack up their equipment and another Trace of the Shoo Fly disappears. Plenty of good mixed freights with a good assortment of cars plus the short all steel coil train almost like Santa's sleigh bringing shiny metal to market. Just enough ice and snow Trackside to let you know it's the holiday season and time to wish all the viewers a Blessed Christmas!

Lot of work on the shoo-fly. I think it will be done by summertime next year. This place will be very busy when it's all done. That CSX line with just the cross buck, the yield and small blue sign, that doesn't make sense to have that blue sign when there's only a cross buck. Thank you for taking another trip to Richwood and Walton, Kentucky on 19 December 2022, Jaw Tooth! It is always nice to see what is still going on at the former location of the shoo-fly in Richmond, Kentucky. The road construction crews have a lot more work to do on the road under the railroad overpass. I wonder how much longer it is going to take to complete the road construction. The location that you go to in Walton, Kentucky where the CSX and Norfolk Southern tracks run parallel is a great train watching location. Derailment in Chattanooga yesterday, Collegedale, and overnight last night they got about 150 yards of track fixed and reopened. 3 Locomotives on the ground and on their sides after hitting a truck.
