- Fast Freight Trains With Speed Checked By Radar! Railroad Shoo-Fly Update, Look At New Norfolk Southern Main Line Installation! Great Views At Both Ends! Industrial Railroad Spur Installation with close look. See how railroad track is constructed and watch some long trains in Kentucky! The trains look like they are going really fast but when you check them with a radar gun the speed is much lower than most people were guessing. I finally listened to everyone and got a radar gun. It is a little disappointing to see that they are not going as fast as most people guessed. I thought that some of the guesses were high and here is the proof. Does anyone know where I can find faster trains? We see the process at the construction site and we see the new industrial spur track that is being built. It serves two customers and is being realigned again. This time will be the permanent track. This project allows the abandonment of a couple of dangerous railroad crossings. This video also shows the new maintenance of way siding that is right next to the old Southern Railroad signals that are still in use. This is at the beginning of the video and I believe it is the first time that I have filmed them. I finally got to film a couple of trains here without rain and other weather advisories. The day that I filmed this I had a cold. Why do I always get a cold in the spring? Last spring I had a cold and remember when I went to Utah to film the Big Boy steam locomotive in 2019? I had a major cold then.
Btw, If I did find a train going over the listed track speed I would not post it. This video is only for entertainment. Leave a comment below about this video.

Easter Blessings to All. The last scene has the green grass and budding trees both items to be thankful for along with family and your furry friends. Second train had a few more brand new CEFX covered hoppers and train three had several former Elgin Joliet & Eastern coil cars and gons remarked GRY Gary Railway. Talk about a road disappearing.. Also an old design CENTEX centerbeam in white and 4 bulkhead flats going back for more aluminum ingots POCX. & ICG which you've shot in Ohio. Take Care!
Easter blessings to you
Yes Paul, thank you for the kind thought.
Got back from early church this morning, sat out with a Dunkin Donuts coffee.
In a few weeks Pennsylvania spring gobbler season opens.
Going up to the mountains to hunt them but the best is seeing the shrubbery with new growth, the flowers........always reminds me of His resurrection....nice time of year
Thank you for the update on the shoo fly.
That radar gun is cool. Awesome to see the train speed
That radar gun is slick. Now you don’t have to wonder how fast a train is going!
Third. And happy Easter to everyone 🥚🐇 😁
Happy Easter
Great catch’s and happy easter Too jaw tooth and everybody else
Happy Easter to you
Thanks, Jaw Tooth for the Shoo Fly update.

Awesome catch and a happy Easter to Have Tooth and everyone!😊🐰
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter to you
I was looking to video some trains out here in Vegas but a lot of them run at odd times and not very regularly as far as I can tell.
Happy Easter to you and your family! Great 👍 video and the radar gun is a nice addition.
Happy Easter to you
Stay safe!!
@@donaldstanfield8862 You too
Thanks on that new update and the radar speed check interesting speed does seem much faster😊
Thank you for documetning the two trains at the shoo-fly in Richwood, Kentucky and the train in Florence, Kentucky, Jaw Tooth! It look like that industrial spur is going to have a sharper curve that the current version of the industrial spur since the new spur is being placed inside the current industrial spur. I hope that you have the opportunity to get back to the shoo-fly the week of 18 April 2022 to check on any further progress in reinstalling the line over the new overpass. It looks like the maintenance of way crew is working as quickly as they can to complete their work on installing the new trackage.
Thanks Thomas! I will probably be there later this week. I wanted to get out there today but it was 38 degrees and cloudy and windy again
Great trains! Norfie’s eyes are beautiful!
I agree!
Thank You! Thank You!! For ShuFly update. Almost missed the April 04th update.. Thank You for getting the Radar Gun as was tiring to guess the trains speed even after 13+ years as a Police Officer… Again, Thank You JT! 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
Really liked the angle on the second train. You could watch at the top of the shoo-fly and see all the way back to south turn. Keep up the great work.
Cool, thanks!
A GOOD VIDEO VERY COOL AND INTERESTING ENJOY THE PETS AND FAMILY 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Thank you 👍
It's awesome that you can capture the train speed for your viewers now!
It sure is!
Another great Jaw Tooth 😍 Videos 🚆 📹, Happy Easter to all, and the Cat 🐈 and Dogs 🐕 😀 too !!
Happy Easter
I never get tired of these videos.
Oh Norfie.. the kitty with the gorgeous orange eyes!
She is a funny cat. She has her own place to hide and sleep in my guitar/office room on the old guest bed.
Nice video. Cool on the track work you videoed joint bars and tie plates most likely supplied by Progressive track out of Cleveland.
I love seeing those shots of those trains going around those curves. Just looks so awesome and powerful
Thank you very much!
Happy Easter brother!! And keep them videos coming son!!
Those trains are not hanging around. Great job thanks. Chris from England.
Thanks 👍
JT, I think you got a _horn salute_ by the train at 14:00!
😊 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
Awesome! I didn't notice that
Thanks Brian. Happy Easter!
Happy Easter Steve!
Happy Easter
Nice footage of all of that rail construction going on there!!
Thank you very much!
Norfie learning off Chessie, how to sleep on ya back bless em. That Speed gun is cool $100 did you have to calibrate the Gun????
Thanks for watching! I didn't have to calibrate it
Good made video, mr Jaw Tooth.
The shoo-fly is almost ready, the trains don't drive full speed the curves on the northside and the southside is the bottleneck. That means the train must ride slower in speed.
But when the shoo-fly is ready.......whe gonna see trains on full speed.right on .
Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.
Cool, thanks it will be done soon. I hope I can see it one more time before it is done
Enjoy traveling with you.
Thank you! 😃
Love the Radar JT!
Hi Brian.....Happy Easter to you and your family.
Save me some ham !!!
Another way cool video.
Thanks !!!!!
Good evening to all from SE Louisiana 17 Apr 22.
Hello there!
Only 52? I guessed 55. Close. Freights appear to be going faster than they really are. Radar is a good idea. Nice video, JT.
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the video, and the pets. See you on the next\.
You bet!
Jaw tooth, What i like abut your train videos, is you show the whole length of the train! You zoom in and out nicely, and have good sound . Gives me a chance to count the cars! even if you change the view. Nothing seen here was lightning fast, 55mph? lightning fast would be a AM track at 90 95 mph. NAPERVILLE iLL has long freights coming and going from Chicago, every day. Drives the cars sitting at crossings crazy I saw a slow freight crawl through there ONCE, at 10 to 15 mph. took 15 to 20 minutes to clear the crossing! Any way, thumbs up for good photo shoots! I guess its eather in China, or Japan, that has the fastest trains in the world!
The fastest trains that I filmed were in Pennsylvania near Harrisburg on that Amtrak line. They wizzed by me so fast that they were gone in seconds. I also got some really fast ones in New Jersey. I still have a bunch to post in New Jersey. I would like to visit Naperville. I have filmed in Illinois a couple of times but most of what I film is within about 250 miles of Cincinnati. I would like to film at the 3 track crossing on Loomis Street in Naperville or from the pedestrian trail right across from the Amtrak train station. That would be cool! Too bad we don't have a bullet train. Lol
👍#310
I thought those Shoo-Fly trains were doing, at least, 60 mph. Must have been wind resistance. 🤔
I enjoy the progress on this area. Please keep it up!
13:54 Either that's a very unusual whistle cadence or he's sending MARIT in Morse code.
Yeah, the pitch seemed lower in today's video than usual.
Thanks for the shoo-fly update. I thought it might get interesting. :)
Thanks for watching!
Next item on the shopping list; microphone with one of them fluffy windscreens.
HAPPY EASTER 🐣TO YOU AND MOM Tooth, and all the little teeth,as well as the FUR TEETH. THANKS for all you do for all of us, your friends!❤️, BLESSINGS to you all!

Happy Easter to you
@@michaelhewitt258 thanks you and your whole family as well
I’m enjoying watching you with the new tool !! Makes The trains more realist.
Great video! I really like it when you use the radar gun. That's really neat to see how fast they are going. Happy Easter to you and your family.
Happy Easter to you
Hey Jawtooth. That is really cool to see the speed they are going. I’m glad to see the update on the shoo fly. It will be cool to see the completion of it in the not too distant future.
thanks for watching !
Happy Easter 🐣, from Detroit, Michigan!
And, keep the excellent train videos 📹 coming.
🐰HAPPY EASTER JAWTOOTH AND FRIENDS 🐰
Nice siding!
Very!
Cool video Jawtooth. Really love the scanner you got it makes it better for you to watch the trains and actually get the exact speed of them.
Happy Easter JT to you and yours, as all ways a fast action catch, I love what they are doing to the shoo fly. this is great and thanks again,Norfy has gotten big 🙂
Happy Easter to you
No wonder they're building that new underpass. Those trains near the construction site were going over 50 mph. Once the line straightens out when the underpass opens, don't be surprised if some trains are "booking" by at around 60 mph.
That would be cool to see! Going over the road on the new bridge. A must film
Happy Easter to you and all Railroad fans.
Happy Easter
Such speed for that shoofly curve
Nice! It looks as if the train was going 60, but with your radar gun, we see 52. That is cool! The second train was very long and no DPU - I wonder if NS is on the cheap side. It is cool to see the progress. Can't wait until they lay those 1/4 mile long rail pieces in place :) I bet the trains will do a full 60 mph once the shoo fly is down and the main track is open.
52 mph isn't that fast.
Many Trains in Europe or in Japan can get up to 150mph +.
Good timing. Was wondering same. LOL! Glad that speed gun was present. Shows the difference between eyeball timing and a speed gun, huh? Haha!!
That "lack of DPU" thing...Just to pass along another, there was a major derail up near Buffalo, NY involving NS and a similar scenario. The videographer made the comment along the lines of, "Everyone else is using them. You need some DPUs on your longer trains, Norfolk Southern. You wouldn't have problems like this."
Guess they've kinda been doing that for years. Why? Who knows. HAVE noticed a trend, though, lately, where it LOOKS LIKE that's slowly changing (keyword: "SLOWLY").
@@chrisserfass8635 Those are not freight trains.
I agree, I guess the speed 10 mph over actual, guess the size of the cars throws perception!?
There's just something beautiful about that shoo-fly! Hope we get to catch more of the construction there!
@@RailRide Yes, they are passenger trains 🚆 that are much lighter.
Thank You Jaw Tooth!!!
Thanks for watching!
Great catches thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching
Missed this one till today , Think of it , all that Back Breaking Labor of the 1800's to lay track. Now with all those strange looking very Safistacated R/R MAINTAINACE/ ASSEMBLY EQ .Thanks Jaw Tooth ...
Mr. JT - love your videos: enjoy it when you add new small 'things' as the radar speed gun. Perhaps in the future, you would consider adding a small drone - to capture some new videos from the air. Great work - thank you.
Thanks ! I want to get a drone
Another AWESOME video
Great job
So, They going to place
The permanent track
Under the Detour
Your cat has the right idea
HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE
I bought a raider gun myself after seeing your first video with yours.I'm looking foreword to using when I can get out and railfan. But the North East Ohio weather needs to clear up first.
And jaw tooth and that's cool train video is a good thing ❤😊
Wow - a fast double stack followed by an equally fast mixed freight. Good progress at that shoo-fly. Thanks for the update.
Thanks 👍
Best one yet from the shoo fly. The long zoom shot was awesome. Great video thanks.
Thanks! I hope I can do that one more time before its gone
Easter Greetings ! ! !
In Greene County Indiana is the Tulip Viaduct. It is 2,295 ft. long. It crosses the Richland Creek.
Looks like they are taking out that curve
Such a nice kitty - beautiful eyes! We're going to miss the shoofly when it's gone, too...Happy Easter, JT!
Thank you! You too!
Happy Easter to you

Thanks for watching Kimberly!
It's going to be cool when it is done. Love all your video's
I just got home from there today. I filmed a couple trains going past it. Nobody was working today
Richwood Kentucky appears to be your favorite spot LOL
Pretty soon they will be done and I will rarely go there again. Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to you and family, JawTooth! That radar gun was a great gift from the Mrs. Those trains were bookin'. They're really make some progress on the tracks. Love those EMD ACEs. Norfie is so sweet. Give pets to Chessie and the rest of the gang.
Happy Easter to you
Great to see Norfie catching up on her beauty sleep 😴 😸
Refresh my memory, the term "Rat Hole", is this a no exit " Spur", or siding.
I already knew the term Shoo Fly 🪰, thanks for the reply. 🤠🙏👌😸
Happy Easter Jaw Tooth thanks for the super cool videos
Happy Easter
Great position on the inside of the curve. Good to see the progress on the trackwork. They must be expecting valuable traffic on the spur in order to justify the cost of new. To cope with the wind can you get a detached mic with a muff on it?
I think the reason they're replacing the spur is because the spur track has to line up with the new track that they're laying. U can see that the spur track thats there now does not.
@@robc4343 Thanks Rob C. I can see how they do it . JT said some time ago that it was little used so I wondered why they did it if the revenue was likely to be poor.
I'm going to try adding a bandaid over it and see if that works. Yes, that spur is rarely used. It has 2 customers and I have only seen it being used twice. Maybe they switch it at night but it is usually very rusty
Intense.
Thanks for getting these videos.
Glad you like them!
Hope you had an awesome Easter mate.🇦🇺

We rode the Adirondack railway yesterday with my grandson for the Easter Bunny Hop. We went from Holland Patent to Remsen.
Wow, that sounds really awesome!
Did your grandson like it, what age is he!?
@@donaldstanfield8862 he loved it! He’s 6 years old now. We first took him when he was 2. The train runs past his back yard so he’s always loved them.
I love your videos! thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks for watching!
The. Videos. Of. The. Trains. are. Great
Booking...no kidding that was cool.
Thanks for the update,,love watching the progress.
Thanks for watching!
Sweet video JT. I thought for sure the first train was doing 60, but your new radar gun said 52, either way it was booking. Same for train two. Train 3 was huge but no DPU, what’s wrong with NS. Chessie and Norfie are so adorable, they are so alike. Happy Easter to you and your family, god bless. Thanks 🙏🏻🚂
Same guess here!!
hi Jaw tooth i think its my first time ive seen rail tracks being layed very interesting Thank You ye get gt weather in ohio brian Ireland

Nirfie is the best kitty ever....
Love the radar gun. I would've thought that train was faster than 42. It's great seeing the construction progress. Thanks Jaw Tooth. Happy Easter!
Happy Easter to you
I always guess 10 mph too high!
Great video jt 👍 that train is flying 52mph
Thanks 👍
