Why do people seem to think young men/boys cannot be groomed
Cause they’ve never had a son or dolt love their sons. I have a little boy and I can see how innocent they are. I also have a 12 year old nephew and he is a little boy in every way. It would be so easy for an older woman to convince him they are in love since he is so innocent. Whoever tried to hurt him tho they wouldn’t ever find her body.
I have no idea. Recently, I heard some awful stories from my acquaintance who was groomed quite a lot when he was pre-teen and teen. I got so mad (to put it mildly) at these grown ass women who abused him not only emotionally but physically and weren't even arrested because it was (and still is imo) so normalized.
I barely even know the guy and still felt for him.
It's just basic human empathy.
Because men support it, that’s why. They see sex with an older woman especially if she’s attractive as becoming a man and being more attractive. Men don’t take sexual assault seriously unless it’s by another man. It is what it is. 🤷🏾♀️

Though I can't help but wonder if she's more of a Celine Dion with her marriage. Celine was literally a child when she met the married man who would later become her husband. According to Celine, she is the one who pursued him once she was older and he was single. Her mother tried her best to c-block that whole thing, but obviously failed as Celine eventually went on to have an over-the-top wedding to this dude. Seriously, their entrance alone was like "Does this French-Canadian couple think they're royalty from India? Wtf is this?" He's since passed away from health issues (cancer, I think) and she hasn't been the same since. It makes sense she hasn't been the same, being as he's been a huge part of her life since she was a little girl. He's responsible for her career (don't Blame Canada, blame a French man named Renee) and he was probably the most consistent person in her life other than her mother. Death is hardest on the living because we have to learn to live without our loved ones. Celine not only had to learn to live without him, but she still has to raise their kids without him, too. (Granted, she's doing it millionaire style with nannies, but still. Just because a wealthy person has nannies doesn't mean they don't have feelings.) I'm not sure Celine will ever see her relationship with Renee the same way her mother and everyone else does.
Some people have speculated Renee was actually protecting Celine from the worst of The Industry, pointing to her questionable career decisions since he's been gone (could have been grief.) Some have also speculated that Liz may have chosen her older man also for protection. Would you rather have all the wolves after you or would you rather have a "Safe Wolf" that makes sure no other wolf touches you? We'll probably never know for sure with Liz. Though I do know of some age gap couples where the younger one pursued the older one for whatever reasons (my aunt chased her older man because daddy issues and he made good money. Another girl lied to her older man about her age because she needed a place to stay and came from a harmful home) and it actually works out well in the long run. So here's hoping Liz is in one of those relationships 🤞🙏

I'll be 56 later this year and if I were single; I couldn't picture myself with someone who was in their early 30's, much less gotten together and married them when I was 43 and they were 20. That's way too much of an age gap for me, personally. Hell, when I was single in my early 30's, I dated someone 6 years younger and they weren't in the same place in their life as I was, even with them being in their late 20's, so it blows my mind when people date someone young enough to be their kid age wise. My husband, whom I've been with for 21 years and close to 20 married, is 6 months younger than I am. We have common interests, grew up and became adults at the same time and share many of the same experiences. I don't see how some one can have that when there's that much of an age gap, especially when they got together when one of them was barely an adult and had barely any life experience.

I think anything that makes victims feel accepted, safe and heard is a blessing.

I know my opinion is unpopular, but it IS possible to have a loving, healthy and large age gap relationship. Just like any other relationship based on respect, similar interests, goals, kindness, and yes, attraction. My mom was 22 and my dad was 43 when they married, my grandma was 19 and my grandpa 36, two of the most incredibly loving relationships I've ever seen. A relationship shouldn't immediately be judged as grooming or predatory because of a large age gap. Yes, young people are more susceptible to manipulation, but some of this rhetoric being thrown out is so ageist. I prefer older men because I prefer a level of experience and maturity, and many young women and men choose to actively pursue older partners that have wonderful hearts and minds. Just keep in mind when you're bashing age gap relationships as disgusting or ugly, meanwhile same age couples are screaming at each other in houses filled with domestic violence. We can be critical of a clear situation of grooming without having to lump every age gap relationship into it, many of your parents or grandparents that made beautiful families have big age gaps.

I totally disagree with such big age gap relationships especially if the younger person was a teenager when they met! However if this involved a younger woman by 23 years everybody will be saying woo hoo good on him! Not even one person would be opposing it.

And to counter, I’ve only seen people hold Sam TJ accountable for pred-tory behaviour but no other women who has done the same, even that older women that was dating a 17 year old Harry Styles (I forgot her name, but may she rest in peace), people weren’t even mad that she was dating a minor, just mad that she got to Harry first. We could make the argument about the older gens not holding the men accountable, but let’s be honest, they are not the ones holding Sam TJ accountable either because they are incapable of seeing men as victims of pred-tors. There relationship is truely interesting. Groomers are different then typical abuser because usually they get to a minor by being a fantasy to them. If sam has kept him in this fantasy long enough, he will only see her through this lens. A lot of times has pass and her treatment of him throughout his 20s and his late teens will be the definning factor on whether he divorces her not. If she isn't physically, mentally, or fininancilaly abusing him ( to his awareness), he will judge her based off of that.
There are only two things will lead to the end of their marriage.
1. Sam divorces Aaron.
2. Aaron files for divorce when the kids are all adults.
If aaron ever becomes self aware that he is a grooming victim, he connot just leave. We have too remember that his is a family man. He has two step kids, one being underage, and two Biological kids, also underage. I don't expect him to have an affair because that will hurt the kids. So most likely he will have to wait. That is if he even wants to leave her.

From the day you are born you are told you have an expiration date. Year after year we celebrate getting a year older but what if we were never told all of that and we just went about living. Would your age really matter? My husband and I are 17 years apart, we have been married 28 years this September. We enjoy doing the same activities and are both healthy and in shape. He is the older one but seriously I could walk out and get hit by a car today so again the only time I see age being a thing is when it comes to an adult/child relationship.

The problem isn’t the age gap, it’s when they started dating. An 18 year old with a 39 year old is creepy. A 30 year old with a 51 year old, not so much. 18-28 year old people’s brains are still developing. If someone is older than 30 and interested in an 18 year old, they’re typically looking for someone naive and easy to manipulate.

I think large age gap relationships are weird overall. I am 32 and I have a youthful spirit and I appreciate younger people but I still think realistically a 22-year-old would be too young for me and 52 is a bit too old for me. But that's just me. I look at Aaron Taylor Johnson, I see a handsome, strong, intelligent man. So I seriously doubt he was duped by a woman. He most likely is attracted to what she seems to offer.
