I think the casting really shows the style that they are wanting to go with the movies, I think that’s more what the push back is about rather than the actor themselves

Is anyone else wowed by Aaron's transformation over the years. I remember seeing him in kickass then years later he was in savages. And I honestly didn't think they were the same person. Because Aaron looked so much different.
I really like how they reinvented the character with Craig, they introduced a more rough and rugged bond, That was actually a badass. That opening chase scene in casino Royale. So good. I wonder if they'll go back to the suave gentleman spy with gadgets and whatnot.
I dunno if anyone is watching "The Gentlemen" ---- I nominate Theo James as the next bond!

You guys really need to keep the guidelines for Bond actors in mind. It’s not gonna be Idris Elba or Tom Hidelston or Henry Cavill because the actor needs to be in his 30s and can’t be too famous
Also they like to get names who are cheaper and then they big pay day comes later. Those names are likely already expensive
Hope it’s true but very unlikely, news of script writers and director would circulate first before a casting announcement

As far as I understood, he’s been scheduled to play Bond for many months now. Just because he hasn’t signed an actual contract, doesn’t mean it’s necessarily up in the air.

The question I have isn't necessarily who is the next bond, but what direction do you take bond? They just went the more grounded/realistic route. Do they continue that way or go the more traditional over the topish? I wouldn't mind a period set series of movie like maybe set during the 70s or something.
As for a new bond, I was on the Idris Elba boat. The dude would have crushed it, but he would be a bit old once you get 3+ movies deep.
They could still make a side story, an aging 008, Idris can still work. But I won't hold my breathe

@davidmanning2859 Exactly. WHO is the better fit for the next bond was always secondary. The primary question (if I was the producer) would be "now, where do you take the character of Bond from here? How do we make him relevant to the current zeitgeist, and (story wise) how can we make it different?, then I would go from there. His casting rumors suggest Barbara Broccoli is leaning more towards a more flamboyant Bond. As for the setting, it could be a period piece as rumoured

They supposedly have a script, but the script I’ve heard about says that they’ll be two bonds in the film, a young bond and an older bond. I guess the young bond is for flashback sequences, and the older bond would be the guy who gets the job and the contract, what’s funny is whoever this bond is going to be he’s not really following Daniel Craig because Craig was actually the prequel bond that came before Conway whoever the bond will be will be picking up from where Pierce Brosnan left off
Aaron Taylor Johnson pretty certain has be offered rule as James Bond. That saying he hasn't signed anything yet and no body is going to come out and say anything until he has signed the contract.

@@Njbear7453 the problem is The Onion is satirical. And its readers know that. The Enquirer might be also, but a lot of people believe it. The Sun is supposed to be a serious paper, and a lot of people believe it completely. But it's outrageous and exploitative because that sells the most copies.
I don't think he has a voice for it. I think Henry Cavill is my first choice but there's something about that Cosmo Jarvis could be a pretty tough Bond. The important thing is here in the past EON always did a big press conference where we find out everything and there hasn't been any conference yet.

Kinda agree Aaron isnt in my top 5 but he would definitely be one of the few younger actors who i totally see, i just hope he does something a little new to Bond and not get the comparisons to other actors(Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosman are my favorites, i still think Connery is nostalgically the best ever) and to be fair he has the suave and he's BUILT! I would wonder if we'll be getting Parkour Bond like Casino Royale or if we'll be getting a Dalton-esque Bond
Something made me feel really queasy about this video that I just couldn’t put my finger on… and then I got it: it’s the realisation that, for the first time in my life, the actor playing James Bond will be younger than me (and, if it is ATJ, he’ll be over FIFTEEN years younger than me). I'd say it's PR for the new dc movie he's in. Just to spoon his name. However I think he'd be a good bond. Depends on the film script etc

I would probably accept any actor as bond as long as the script is right. I only got into the franchise with skyfall anyway.

If ATJ gets the roll I'm fine with it. I'd prefer the King in the North Richard Madden but I'm not in charge of the studios. The only reason I'd not consider Cavil is because I would rather see a new installment on the Man From Uncle series if possible instead of him as Bond.
I keep telling everyone Daniel Craig did the most action and actual acting before him I never saw 007 run so fast or fight hard & gritty... Eg from the chicken fight scene to the construction site to blowing up an embassy. Unforgettable first BOND movie by the actor in Casino Royale.
He could possibly look the part by the time the writers finish and are ready to begin filming. But, after hearing Taylor-Johnson speak, I have hard time imagining him being able to utter the line “The name is Bond, James Bond.” His voice doesn't have enough depth to be taken seriously in my opinion.

Won't Henry Cavill be to busy with his Warhammer 40,000 series for Amazon to sign up to Bond which is a long term commitment. Daniel Craig talked about doing Bond was basically two years for each film. I'd love to see Henry Cavil cast as the baddie for a film though.
You can be CERTAIN that Eon had a number of possible ideas/stories to go forward before they okayed Bond dying in the last movie. 100%.

I hate the idea of A.I. "actors" but I could only cast the best possible A.I. generated approximation of Sir Sean Connery or Sir Roger Moore as the permanent James Bond for all future films.

ATJ would be great as Bond. I don't know, I think Henry Cavill could knock it out the park, but I feel like he is too recognizable as Superman for people to fully suspend their disbelief. I'm more lobbying for Idris Elba as M though. M who gets in on some of the action at times.
