My reaction to ep 2 of Yuri on Ice!
Glad you’re enjoying the show so far! It’s always so fun to see someone experience this show for the first time! Quick note: there is a translation error that crunchyroll repeatedly makes here. Whenever it translates Victor saying “girlfriend”, it’s gendering a word that’s actually gender neutral. “Lover” would be more accurate, and I believe it’s how the Funimation sub and dub translate it. It’s not that important in the grand scheme of things, and I’m pretty sure it only happens again in one other episode, but it is an unnecessary bit of heteronormativity that I personally find annoying lol.
Viktor is so extra - it's wondeful fun to see him throw everyone off. He's already showing some depth as well, though. When it comes to ice skating, and understanding how these two very different Yuri's have talent and drive, he's focused and insightful. His coaching technique will be interesting to see - especially since he's never coached anyone before. This is primarily a sports anime, if you want a genre for it. It's also full of gorgeous, athletic men in spandex :) Whether it's also a BL...you'll see.

yeah!!! i agree,, victor is his idol so he ' s really freaking out , super starstruck. 😅😂🤣 little did Yuri knows, Victor is a huge fan of hiim too 😁😁😁 the potential hidden in him, Victor can see it. and plisetsky did'nt get it coz he don't see what victor is seeing . so it gets messy 🤣🤣🤣
