    Let's stop calling this a diet and call it a lifestyle. Eat when you're hungry not as an accessory when watching movies.

    Food trend. 🤣 That's how we were meant to eat. Kids eat that way immediately. They eat when they are hungry and stop half way in when they're full.
    I'm currently relearning that now. It's tough to break old habits of eating when you're emotional, sad, tired, when you want, etc.

      You are wrong. Kids eats that way as they usually move 10x more than adult. For adults this is a different story. It often end up with a massive weight gain.

      @@HCforLife1 Not for me. 🤷🏽‍♀️ My body tells me when to eat. That's how we are designed. Agreed to disagree.

    I had always listened to my body and felt significant better for it. I naturally fast too, like I never forced myself to be restrictive I just knew if I’m hungry I’ll eat. So if I’m not hungry all day then I won’t eat all day. I used to go like 2 days every so often without eating and I never felt like week or in pain. But now.. I think I got to used to following other habits that it’s become the norm for me to over eat and to pick the things that make me physically feel bad.

    I have a sensitive digestive system including severe lactose intolerance, so I envy people who can eat whatever and whenever

    What if "your body" is telling you to eat 5000 calories of junk food every day?

      It would not.

      yes a lot of people think that i did too. And yes in the beginning you will probably eat A LOT of junkfood because after dieting for so long and restricting that kind of stuff youll body will crave that so much because it was missing that for so long, but trust me later on it wont be like that because you will listen to your body, for example me in the beginning i binged so much on jukfood but now i sometimes crave a salad or eggs or healty things and i eat that if i want a burger i eat that

      @@mimi0674 I am a dietitian and agree. After making enough unhealthy choices in a row, you learn how that makes your body feel compared to healthier foods, and you eventually start making the healthier choice to feel better.

      The problem is that a lot of intuitive eating practitioners do exactly this, mistaking their cravings for what their body actually needs. It's why many people falsely believe that their "set point weight" naturally lies within the realm of obesity and that there's nothing they can do about it.

  • @skontheroad
    @skontheroad Před 2 lety +8

    Even if one has high cholesterol or high blood pressure, ine can still be in tune with their body and it's cravings. Your body will tell you when you need a salad or veggies, vs. protein, carbs, etc. The key is to try to listen and zoom in on what your body is telling you that you are craving, BEFORE you are starving. Similar to "don't go food shopping when hungry", don't order or make your food once you have passed the hungry stage. It only leads to overeating. It also goes hand in hand with the "eat more, smaller meals throughout the day" concept--which is hard, but if one has healthy snacks on hand, it is doable).

      And the book that started it all actually was first published in the 90s I believe...yes it is gaining momentum but for a long time it was overshadowed by the Keto Diet, Paleo, etc. Diet Culture is strong and loud out there.

      no when you’re stuffing your face 24/7 you don’t realise when you’re hungry and not anymore you just eat when you’re bored or whatever. when you do things like intermittent fasting for example you feel hunger properly and know when u need to eat and don’t
