    I sold my 911 to buy my first Cayman, a base 987.2. Great car. In a 981 GTS now and it’s my keeper. It does everything well.

    I think a lot of other brands of luxury cars have club members that just want to flex, Porsche are drivers cars, I think they attract driving enthusiasts.

      It’s quite alright , there was a character in the Viz called septic tank he thinks he’s a yank .
      He was always going on about gas stations , rest rooms flunking his grades etc
      I just didn’t want you going down that road 😂

    I especially agree with your comments about making the car your own. I love that there are so many ways to do that.
    I own a 2015 Boxster GTS. As you said, it gets lots of looks and compliments, but when I park it next to 911s it magically disappears. It bothered me at first, but I’m good with it now. It reappears when I start the engine and rev it a little!

    Nice video! 981 or 987, which one is more reliable? Which one would you recommend as a daily driver?

    • @alsatch_
      @alsatch_  Před 7 měsíci +7

      981 is more reliable, and would definitely choose that as a daily driver between the two 👍

    Thanks for the video. Which, for you, is the better drive? Your 981 or your old 987?

      I prefer the 981. 👍

    £9K of mods and no GTS tail lights. They're a must have especially on a white/black car. Loved my 981S.

      Its on the list. I called the dealer and they were on back order, and couldn't get any on the used market at the time of looking. Hopefully pick up a set soon.

    Thanks Satch.
    I've a practical question about the 981/718s. I'm 6'2, how are they for taller people? Still comfortable on longer drives?

    • @alsatch_
      @alsatch_  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hmm I’m. It 100% sure. I’m 5’10 and fit perfectly. I’m sure other comments may come along with taller people on their experiences 👍

      My son is 6’5” and when he drives my 981s he said it’s comfortable.

    • @skramer6483
      @skramer6483 Před 7 měsíci +2

      I’m 6’2 had a 981 CS with comfort seats and current 981 GT4 with 918 buckets. More than enough room, 34” leg and the seats are well off fully back on the runners. Colchester to Cornwall in the 981 was no problems at all and I’m someone who has a prolapsed disc and a back op.

    • @stevecade857
      @stevecade857 Před 7 měsíci +14

      If you get good mpg you'll want to drive it more. It may not be reason to but a sports car but there is something really satisfying about getting great performance and good fuel consumption. The Cayman does it with a slippery shape and tall 6th gear.

    Loving the stance, what type and size of spacers have you fitted?

    • @alsatch_

      Off the top of my head I think they are 15MM on the rear and 7mm on the front. Check my channel for a video on the mods on this car (the most recent one) as it mentions the sizes in that video. Cheers 👍
