I def mourned my teeth being pulled. I’ve had my teeth my whole life so even through all the pain they were what I knew lol. I’m still getting used to my immediate dentures but it feels good finally being able to talk to someone without curling my mouth up over my teeth or the struggle of trying to not smile and laugh. I’m a natural laugher and have always been known for my smile and pretty teeth so its very emotional but I’m getting used to it and I’m happy with my decision.

I was in a bad car wreck 41 years ago I was 21, At the time I got my Dentures it was 38 years ago, Had a mouth full of Crowns, bridges due to breaking my jaw and having it wired shut for 8 weeks. My dentist told me that if something ever happened or if my bridge was to break I would be a denture wearer. I don’t know why I never thought this would happen to me but it did. Such a big struggle. I got very sick after having my teeth removed. I know I had a lot of poison, mercury, abscess teeth you name it I had it. I got Candida very bad due to all the antibiotics my dentist had me on. Then I wasn’t taking a probiotic but I do everyday now. It lead me to a few Autoimmune diseases and IBD. So I’ll forever have a messed up stomach but never knew they were related to my teeth being bad. Mainly my body was poisoned at this time.
I ended up getting dentures & implants. Had them fail
twice. Which is a nightmare in itself. I was able to keep 2 on my bottom and that’s it. Still looking for an honest dentist so I can try to get something else done. Haven’t had any luck in that area.
It’s a woman’s worst nightmare to loose her teeth. I went in to a deep dark depression for almost a year. Knew I had to get myself together and finally did. I was just so sick not knowing what was ahead of me.
It’s been almost 4 years and I’m so much better now. I’m use to my top denture but I don’t like it at all. The main thing I’m happy about is my health is 80% better. When you wear anything in your mouth that is foreign for 38 years that’s a long time and I still can’t believe they lasted that long. Neither could the dentist that did my work. I didn’t have any options so I just did what I knew I had to do and live with it the best I knew how. Thank god for you on u tube & Facebook Dental groups where I got to meet some of the kindest people I know
I appreciate all of your kind words through out these years. Unless a person has been through it they will never know how much this takes away from you and especially your confidence.
Lots of love and hugs sent your way my friend🤗❤️
Can’t wait for part 2! Xxxx

I cried for the first week after getting my dentures, for all the reasons you listed above. the moment I saw myself without my dentures, I screamed because I looked like one of those dried up apple hags and I felt hideous. My teeth were the same as yours...brittle, constantly breaking and splitting. My bone had deteriorated to the point that there was nothing left to hold my teeth in. They would just pop out! All I had left were my top teeth and a bridge going across the bottom, with one lone loose tooth as an anchor. I am 62 and single and still holding out hope that I will find someone to share my life with but too embarrassed to date. I just wanted to be able to smile uninhibited again.
When they built a new Aspen Dental in my small town, I jumped at the free consultation and was thrilled to find that it was affordable.
I'm only 2 weeks in but I am struggling with a lot of different emotions and other insecurities right now. I still can't eat solid food and I'm starving! My bottom denture won't stay in and shift haphazardly when I speak. I'm still horrified by my sunken face with my teeth out and thoughts of total hopelessness at any man finding me attractive once that curtain gets pulled back in any potential relationship.
Thank you so much for sharing this. most days I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I want to embrace it but I really need someone to tell me it's all going to be okay. I wanted to feel attractive again and I do, with my teeth in but when they are out, I literally feel sick. perhaps you might create a video addressing this issue. thank you.

I am Brazilian. I went to 5 dentists and 3 doctors said it would be better for me to extract my 9 teeth and put a prosthesis on an implant. I was very sad. I'm still not over the idea. My case is similar to yours and your way of seeing this situation helped me a lot. You showed things I hadn't thought of before.

Some dentists are not at all ethical. I broke a tooth on a frozen kiss and did not have a regular dentist to go to because I had no problems with my teeth. So I called around to find a dentist that would see me and found one. I went in over a broken tooth with a healthy mouth of teeth and came out after an immediate denture procedure. In severe pain and feeling unable to eat anything. I found you and your videos helped me so much. I went in with a broken tooth scared of what it was going to cost and came out with a denture that I was stuck with and a huge bill that I couldn't pay. The denture fit for like the first 2 or 3 weeks after extraction but after that they were horrible and that dentists office told me that I had the top of the line and nothing could be done to make them fit better. People wonder why I have white coat syndrom.

Two days before I got the rest of my teeth (10) pulled and 8 implants set, I called my dentist asking him if this was the right thing to do, I was starting to freak out and panic. He calmed and reassured me that everything would be fine. And everything did turn out fine. I'm very happy with my snapins which I have had exactly one year.

They have done something called a ligaplant. It's basically a synthetic tooth with a real root. They scrape off some of the ligament cells from an extracted tooth, get them to grow on a man made tooth and then reimplant them in the mouth. It's not fixed like a metal implant it can be moved around with braces.

This is so much harder than I even imagined but I couldn’t stand the pain anymore. I’m diabetic an after 3 kids my teeth just couldn’t handle anymore, the pain was constant. I was feeling so alone until I can across your video. I’ve even started to pull away from my husband of almost 30 years because I feel like less of a woman I guess you could say. He on the other hand has been amazing. Im just thankful to see I’m not the only one that has to deal with this . To know I can watch a video of someone who has already been thru it. I have saved up my hard earn money. On Jan 2022, I decided to get all my upper teeth pulled out and get an upper jaw all-on-6 implant. My upper teeth were causing pain and my gums were swollen. It’s a scary decision but finding a good oral surgeon that has experience is worth it. I also got my bottom molar teeth (7) implanted. At end of May, after 4 months (of healing) my final caps will be screwed it.

I got my upper dentures a week ago and I'm having so much trouble dealing with them. They sit well so far, but I find it difficult to eat, I know that this is normal. The worst thing for me is to look in the mirror and see myself without the dentures. I hate it and try to look at it as little as possible.
Of course I try to see the positive sides as well, the dentures look good and that makes me happy....but at this moment I'm in such a deep hole that I can only see the negative things. So I've been crying for a good week. I hope this gets better at some point.

I’m at 4 days post full mouth extractions. My teeth weren’t THAT bad but I’d never liked them. They were sensitive to hot and cold, gave me a slight constant headache, some crooked, some missing so I don’t grieve them. I do at time swear I’m getting the feeling of phantom teeth! lol
It’s like I can feel them still.
I do hate what I look like without my immediates in.
BUT, I don’t have constant headaches, ice cream is ENJOYABLE again , a glass of ice cold water IS ENJOYABLE again !

@@estrellapaz5903 Yes, I got immediate dentures after they took 26 teeth out last Monday.
What I’ve gone through in this past week is nothing compared to all the embarrassment of my old teeth, the pain and the dental cost over the years.
Most people don’t realize the health issues that bad teeth can bring. Our teeth can cause infection to spread throughout our body. Cause heart issues etc.
We are all much better off without our decomposing teeth.
It’s the best thing I have ever done for my health, not to mention the weight I’m loosing.
It’s strange but I’ve heard others say this; after extractions your body craves WATER! I couldn’t drink enough those first few days.
I was also shocked how I not once had hunger pangs nor was starved from not eating my normal diet. I didn’t crave sugar or carbs as usual.
It’s like you body suddenly realizes it’s rid itself of toxins and water will flush the rest of them out.
      Just make that appointment!
I went to Aspen Dental. I told them I was ready to have them all pulled when I made my appointment .
The first visit is free. They take ex rays, pictures etc and then the dentist will give HIS suggestions.
He wanted to do crowns and a partial on my bottom ($14,000) and full denture on top. ($6,000)
I declined the $14,000 bottom partial and ALL it entailed and went with the best denture they offer.. My insurance
( Medicaid) paid for everything BUT the immediate dentures. They had to have the cost ($1,000) for them up front before my extractions.
I could have gone without but I didn’t want to go 6 months without teeth.
They will do impressions in 6 months and I’ll get my permanent dentures then.
My ONLY regret is that I didn’t do this SOONER!
      Make that call girl!

Hello @Dawn 760 thank you so much for your words, you say you will have to wait for six months.. do you already have your implants for all on 4 upper and lower or snap ins with mini implants? Or you will just wear removable dentures? How much did you pay for your implants?... I am so scared! I know I cannot afford that yet, and I have to wear removable dentures but some say you cannot even talk, eat, kiss, etc with them in and that you have to take them out to sleep.... So many things that make me feel one just can have a normal life with implants so I don't know if I should go and get them all pulled or not. Thank you so much for replying to my text ;) btw I am just 33, sad at a young age... But with many dental problems. Thank you so much for your reply! :)

      @@estrellapaz5903 Girl I WISH I
would have done this at 33, I’m 61! I suffered through bad teeth all those years.
      No I’m not getting implants!
I paid for immediate dentures which they put in right after my extractions last week.
I’ll wear these until my gums shrink, probably 6 months, then they’ll make a permanent set. This permanent set will fit much better because the mold will be made from my actual shrunken gums.
Yes you can eat fine with dentures, kiss, talk and yes sleep with them but it’s better not to all the time.
It’s a learning process with both dentures AND implants to learn to eat and talk.
Both are foreign to your mouth, both will be challenging because neither are like your real teeth.
Everyone I’ve ever known with dentures have done fine in all areas. They eat and talk like everyone else with real teeth.
Do your diligent research on implants, what I’ve seen is that they are very expensive yet still come with plenty of problems .
Aspen charged my insurance co $12,000 for my dentures, extractions etc.
When my gums heal and shrink I could get implants at a later date for another $10,000 but I personally like the idea of being able to remove them to clean and sanitize my mouth.
With anything you need to get over the stigma of dentures only for the older generation.
What I’m seeing is that they are becoming “the thing” for young people to rid themselves of bad teeth and achieve a beautiful smile .
It’s a mindset you’ll have to accept before you commit. You’ll not regret it !!!

Girl I got my immediate upper Denture on Tuesday April 12th 2022! Today is day 3 for me and I'm definitely surprised by how well I have done and how well my dentist done! I'm not in any discomfort, I haven't gagged, pulled it out before I was told, and have ate food! Honestly I'm more uncomfortable without them in because it feels so weird without teeth in the front. Today and tomorrow should in theory be the hardest recovery days so keep me in prayers 🙏 please. I don't think I could have done this without knowing that you and the others in our community would be here to help me!
I accidentally looked at myself right after the pull out and dentist took out the Denture to put a small amount of adhesive to the roof and back where I already have healed from previous pulls (I only had 4 teeth left to be pulled that day) anyway I looked in the mirror while he was doing that and started bawling crying because of how ugly I looked. Bless my dentist heart because he sat beside me and comforted me and said all the right things and told me the most important part was I was getting myself healthy and to focus on that!
He said I could never be ugly even without teeth because my beauty doesn't come from teeth but from my attitude and personality! I have delt with horrible dentist in the past so I'm so thankful God sent me him!
    Thanks my friend ❤️

I don't like the actual teeth in my denture though I would rather they be shaped differently but I'm not sure if it's because it's a immediate denture and it's only temporary and I'll have a more permanent one later or if this is the one I'll have for the long run ? Maybe I should ask my dentist? He probably told me already and I just don't remember HELL I can't remember where he told me to put the adhesive lol I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture to guide me! I didn't even have a denture cup or cleaner all week and just now got my husband to pick me up some denture cleaner stuff. .... Anyway I would like different shaped teeth but I don't know how to ask for that or maybe I'm afraid to ask him!? Idk ? What do you suggest? Kristi, the thing about teeth being “healthy” is that let’s say you have 5 “healthy” teeth in your upper jaw. If they are not strategically placed “healthy” teeth, then they may not be able to be included into a favorable situation regarding utilizing a partial, or fixed bridges. In other words, if your dentist cannot configure a cosmetic, functional smile out of your “healthy” 5 teeth, then it is best to sacrifice those “healthy” teeth in favor of a better replacement option, like a full-arch hybrid bridge, like you have. So never say that an ethical dentist won’t remove healthy teeth, it’s more complicated than that.
Also, now that these full-arch options are so ubiquitous many people who have healthy teeth, but their teeth are crooked, stained, the wrong shape, too long, too short, bad breath, painful, and getting braces or even Invisalign or full-mouth crowns and veneers, takes 25 office visits over 1-3 years, and costs about the same, are just getting the ONE DAY option of sacrificing those teeth, getting 4 to 8 implants and having perfect looking teeth that same day😊.

Just getting to one week with immediate upper denture. The week before that my dentist said 14 of my 16 top teeth were badly infected and they needed to come out. I didn't have time to prepare mentally and this is more than I ever expected. I've lost a few pounds in the last week because I cannot eat much of anything nor do I have an appetite. Starting to become quite depressed and feel like things won't be better anytime soon if ever at all. 12 of the 16 were so far gone it wasn't as simple as pulling them out. It was quite the invasive surgical extraction and I still have more stitches in my upper gums than I have ever seen or even thought possible. I'm struggling quite a lot and feel I'm worse now than I was before. I hope it gets better soon because I'm not going to be able to live this was for sure. Too much bone loss to be able to get implants so this is the end of the road for me at 40 years old.

Oh, Kristy, every time I see your videos I cry, although I don't really understand what you're saying since I hardly speak English, but I see those beautiful dentures that seem like such a distant dream to me. I live in New York and have asked some dentist offices about Phonares but they don't seem to know what I'm talking about. I still have 6 teeth, I was saving them to see if I could wear them like what you have, but my dream is getting further and further away because there is not much information about prices, I only hear that they are very expensive. Can you tell me more or less how much it would cost to put on all my removable teeth, since I cannot and never will be able to fix them. but every time I see you I also feel happy for you, I know what you have suffered with your teeth just like me. have a nice day.

I have been living a nightmare since I got my teeth removed 3 years ago. I went to a local dental school and it was supposed to be a 9 month process. I had 6 implants placed on top and 4 on bottom. One fell out on my upper left and I didn't know it. Then, right bf I went for my permanent impressions, I got a horrible infection on the 1 remaining upper left and had to get it removed. The Day I got the implant removed, the doctor treating me that day decided to go ahead and place another implant. So, it seemed all was well during the 4 months of healing. Went for final impressions and the implant literally pulled out with my impression. I could not control my tears...I have hated my temporaries with a passion! I cannot get use to them and God knows, time to adjust isn't the issue. That plate Sucks. Period. Maybe I have a big tongue or something, idk...but there is never a time I forget about them and feel comfortable in them. There is never a minute I don't want to rip them out and throw them against a wall. I have NEVER been ok with the bottoms and they fell on the floor and broke so I have only worn the top ones but I take them out constantly without even thinking about it...so, I'm constantly losing them and having to find them bf I go anywhere. All I can say is thank GOD for mask mandates. That saved me on many occasions. I have gained so much weight and have completely withdrawn from social situations and won't go visit out of town friends or be in close contact with others bc my self esteem is SHOT and I'm so depressed. So after the implant pulled out, they scheduled a sinus lift and bone graft surgery followed by a healing period. I went for scheduled implant placement and this doctor (who I can't stand but am stuck with during his residency for whatever reason) decides I have a massive sinus infection that will prevent me from having successful implants on that side...most likely EVER...well, here's the kicker...I feel no infection. No pain, no congestion, no pressure. NOTHING. I think he is just lazy and scared it might not work since I've had several fail. I think my last one failed bc they placed it into an infection, personally. IF there is a major infection in that sinus, I believe they caused it. But like I said, shouldn't I FEEL an infection? I'm so drained at this point with this process and the run around I get there, that I'm truly afraid if I ever get to actually get permanent ones, I'm not going to be satisfied with them and even though it is a school, they are ANYTHING but cheap. We're talking over 10K...I wish I could go somewhere else and finish this but I'm scared nobody will want to work on these implants since they didn't place them. Idk what to do but if anyone has any advice, that would be great bc not living sucks...BAD

I really need some quick advice i don't think i am suppose to approve a final zirconia restoration without another try in. I told the dental assistant that finished up removing try in and putting back in temporaty that on the right side where he kept tightening it (so as to make teeth fit together better) that when I lightly tap teeth together it hurt to the point i would not be able to eat and to let the dentist know. What do I do? I believe he feels he can go on to final without me trying anything else in. When I told them after the FIRST try in the teeth were way too big and I needed another try in to make sure ok they initially said I would have to pay for another try in. Very scared and upset over this. I don't understand why the try in's dont fit.

I looked this video up because I have so much anxiety about getting dentures. I was born without my lateral incisors which are the teeth right next to your front top two teeth and my orthodontist pulled all my teeth together when i was 14 because there were huge gaps there. I should have had implants there. I also have a fairly big underbite which have wore my teeth down as well. I always felt so insecure about my smile. Now im 42 and my bottom teeth are done for after alot of work they just aren't healthy enough to keep doing work they said. My genetics, medication i take as well as soda i drink all lead to my situation. So they want to pull my bottoms with no anchor teeth to help stabilize the denture that has me worried the bottoms will float around. And I decided if the bottoms are gone then the last remaining top teeth gotta go to. So I'm extremely worried about getting it done. I actually missed my apt to get it done because i wasnt ready yet. Thanks for the tips and great advise, this has made me decide to get it done. Thanks so much!

They wanted me me to travel 2 hours away for my extractions then drive 2 hours home after. It’s ridiculous. I used to be scared of getting my teeth extracted but I’m over that part. I just want this over with 🙄🙄🙄🙄😢😢 why is this so hard to get this taken care of ?????? My dentist also didn't want me going brighter than A1, but said it was my decision (with my temps). For my zirconia perms I will either be going with a B1 , or BL4 which is the darkest of the bleached BL shades... The shades actually go in this order. From darkest to lightest you have A1, B1, BL4, BL3, BL2, BL1, with BL1 being the Hollywood absolute chicklet white. I just wanted to specify I don't think Kristi has BL1, bc whitest of white, too white in my opinion. I won't be going lighter than a BL4 which is on the dark side of the bleached shades. From a functioning point of view, it's preferable to lose upper teeth than bottom because a bottom denture don't have the suction to easily keep it in place like the roof of your mouth has. Losing upper teeth will give you a sunken in appearance which from what I seen, don't really look that bad on thin people but if you have a naturally round chubby face, you'll definitely lose that volume and facial support for your upper lip as well. In other words your cheeks will look very thin and you'll lose some of your upper lip

I was suppose to get all my uppers removed on March 30 but now surgery got postpone to May 26, due to me having COVID. 😔 I am relieved in way my surgery got postponed because I’m really scared to go through it. 😰😰

I totally understand and it took a while for me to accept it and got through with it. Join some denture communities on Facebook and look at the progress people have experienced. That was really motivating for me. I think most of us are nervous about it. ♥️

Great information here. But I have to ask, why do you film in your bedroom with the bed in the background. You are way too professional for that.

I have four kids, four cats, and a dog. It’s this or chaos.

@@kalinjax Now that is what would make the best video ever. Oh come on, just give it a try. With everything so serious, we need to chuckle and feel at home.

"You grieve the loss of your teeth" is absolutely true. Pulling them out even if they are rotten is still an amputation. Thank you for sharing your journey. It helps a lot. A lot. ❤‍🩹

,URGENT ⚠️⚠️☠️❤️😭 Hon, I made the mistake of getting my teeth all pulled, I had recently had 3 removed and Dentist suggested. I thought that would be great I could have perfect teeth again. This is only my story, but I wish I had someone tell me this. I had them all pulled over 2 visits at the county hospital maxiofacial surgeon. I've had my share of bad teeth, sensitivity, and pain. But I would give my arm to have them back again. I went to a private dentist, who did a terrible job. Then I wrecked my car before I could go back to he realigned. Long story short, they never stayed in well enough to eat with them, and through some bizarre circumstances I no longer even have those now. I live on SSDI, can't afford new dentures and even if I could, I needed my gd built up 2st. I'd be glad to talk to you on the phone or through pms or texts. If you aren't in constant pain ,Don't do it!! Doesn't matter if dentist is accredited or any of that. If you have even just decent credit you can get implants. I wish I'd done that or nothing, but I heard the gums if you have a lot of missing teeth may need to be realigned or rather built up. I heard was very painful. And I got all my teeth removed with only local anesthetic. Please reply and let me know if I caught you in time. Thanks and good luck. I've thought many trs how I wish someone had earned me if these things....
