- Witcher 4 - Make Your Own Witcher. Do you want witcher character creation? In this video I talk about making your own witcher in the witcher 4 and if that's good or bad. This witcher could be in the school of the lynx or the other witcher 4 witcher schools.

As long as our character actually FEELS alive and like an actual person, other characters also have good writing with personality and the combat feels satisfying id be happy enough to make our own/play a brand new character. (also I hope we get various and in depth romance choices 😉)
I want good writing and good mechanics. I don't care about the other stuff that much if it is done well.
I love character creation. And I would love to see it in Witcher
I feel as though CDPR should just stick with their usual schtick, so a pre-established character that you can either be faithful to or just express yourself through said character and their choices just as they did with Geralt
Pre existing characters if done right are wayyyy better than customized personal characters, especially for single player games. But there's only a few of these characters. Master chief, Kratos, Gerald.
Created Character are so retarded, because most of the time. They are not given a voice, which kills the game immersion more so than not imo.
I get they're trying hard to make it so that the player should imagine that the character is them but that is just stupid LOL
@@rwwars6948 Ah, theres the rub. "If done right." When many games don't particularly get it right. At least with custom characters the impetus is on the player to express their character.
@Xaxp that's what I said genius
I think doing it like they did in cyberpunk would be amazing. A set character with a slight bit of backstory, but that you can change the appearance of yourself
Geralt is an amazing character. The witcher series is inherently character focused. I feel if they let you make your own character that will be lost. I really bloody hope it’s a pre existing character or a new set character
Well, Baldur's Gate 3 does it and everyone creams their pants over that game.
Na, Despite how Cyberpunk released I think the story of V is very well done. Its the perfect example of how they’d do with a Witcher 4. Having us make our character wouldn’t diminish the game feel or story at all
Id love my own Witcher to customize like skyrim did it's customization. And having like different starting schools would be a great idea. I just don't see why nearly almost all the fans are stressing about the future of the Witcher to be frank. Theres a lot of creative potential that is available now that Geralts "story" is wrapped up.
and it will not be a great story game
@@user-ts5no6lo8f How so? Games like Dragon Age: Origins and Divinity Original Sin 2 pull it off flawlessly.
Created characters imo only works if there is enough room for self-expression (bg3 does a good job at this). If trough choice proxying dialogue or gameplay the player can choose their own moral stance and then give those choices consquences that affect the world.
The world must react to the player in some way. Naturally because each created character is different the amount of ways to express the self must be increased compared to Witcher 3.
You could maybe even create Witcher George of Kagen himself
the dream
I think they should make a spin off set in the Witcher world were you can be a Witcher or just a non Witcher warrior or thief.
As much as creating your own character is intriguing, it will hurt the relationships with different characters, a value that made Witcher 3 so good. It could be an idea for a witcher online component though.
It's a very hard decision for me, either a established accurate character where wd can feel like we are them or make your own Witcher from a specific school I've been craving for (BIG BEAR WITCHER). There is a risk of the story being alot weaker if we get the latter to be honest.
I think some of the obvious choices for witcher we could play as would be Lambert, Eskel or a prequel with Vesemir. However Lambert and Eskel aren’t really big enough characters to be the protagonists in the next mainline witcher. It would be cool to have a Lambert and Eskel spinoff game, where maybe you could switch between the two or choose one for the entire game, which would also make replayability very intriguing to see how different the game would be as one or the other. I’m actually not totally against creating your own witcher, however one big problem with making your own character games is that these characters are often very bland. Even in Dragon Age your protagonist isn’t really that interesting of a character, but if anyone could make it work while also making the character likeable and interesting it would be CD Project Red.
Awesome video...the idea of playing as different schools of Witchers would be amazing especially if they are able to make the game reactive to those choices. Kind of like Baldur's Gate 3 and how it handles character classes (though maybe not to that kind of depth because the strength of the Witcher series is in its coherent narrative and not so much on having the story spin out in a completely tangential way like BG3 does).
Found your channel a couple days ago, subscribed and enjoying everything I'm seeing!
I think the game will evolve around Ciri and the remaining school of the wold characters making their own new school to try and bring all the remaining witchers in the world together
I would like The Witcher 4 to be about a young prodigy witcher (or inexperienced who learns skills throughout the history) and meets Ciri at some point on a mission.
Thanks for the video!
And yeah, I agree with your take on this.
I'm recently going through Mass Effect Legendary Edition and is reminded of myself that while main story remains the same, Shepard depending on player's customization might get some specific class or origins locked quests. Pretty much akin to your Skyrim example.
That doesn't mean I'm against already created character. But if CDPR ever wants to try out the said formula, I certainly wouldn't mind it, especially if it's choice with different Schools.
I want a witcher game like hogwarts legacy that you will be able to create a Witcher at wolf school it would be awesome.
I would love this.
Imagine something as crazy as a Witcher Avatar master of all schools 😂
One problem I see with having a completely custom character in a dialogue heavy game like the witcher, is that they need something to call the character. There are ways around referring to your character without using your name, for example in Dragon Age Origins they use the title "Grey Warden" or "Dragonborn" in Skyrim, but I feel it would be a bit clunky.
Easy, most people would call you witcher and your friends would call you various nicknames or titles as you earn them. Cub - greenhorn - wolf - ace...
Cyberpunk gave your character a nickname, which worked just fine. They could pull off the Cyberpunk lifepath system as Witcher schools instead.
My dreamed Witcher game will be if CDPR made a Character like Dragon Age Origins, you can choose the playing style and other things, but it will be your world and your story, but another Locked character driven story is not what I want in another Witcher Game, I loved the 3 Witcher games and Geralt story since the first time I've played The Witcher in 2007 that dark and dangerous world is deep on my mind.
I'd prefer the next Witcher game to take place after Witcher 3 where it would be possible for Geralt and Ciri to make a cameo appearance
No no no I don't want to make my own character I want a real already made character
I so hope they do this
The Witcher 4 should be a prequel
I played Cyberpunk 2077, and creating your own character just doesn't give me a fulfilling story.
Like I can only learn so much about the character that I am playing, and the decisions they would make, because ultimately, I am that character, so if they don't make decisions I would want to make, it disconnects me more than anything.
In Hogwarts Legacy, I'd argue that was the WORST character creation. I felt absolutely nothing in the ending, and am still not sure why I got my 5th year letter to Hogwarts so late, just that I did.
I kind of expect them to go the character creation route to be fair... I so hope I'm wrong and they shatter my low expectations if they do go that route.
I still recall bonding with Nathan Drake from Uncharted 2, Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher 3, Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn, and plenty more.
Only time I've bonded with a character I've created was Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet. Didn't even bond so much with V during Cyberpunk, but with Johnny Silverhand instead. I felt relatively indifferent about V, even though, V, was me!
That could be the only way because if Geralt is not in it than most of us won't be able to accept the new hero. It's better if we created our own with preset design and voice...it worked well with Mass Effect.
I'd still prefer a pre-set character who is a completely new character going forward.
I'd also like to see Witcher 4 taking place after a time-jump forward, 100~200 years foward.
Given the Lynx medallion admist snow this is likely a new Witcher school located in the far north or somewhere in a mountainous region.
The time jump could see new technology in the world, with rudimentary firearms being introduced (silver bullets) and other steam-punk tropes.
Perhaps you could come across a set of armor that belonged to a legendary witcher.. one who was the first to die in his own bed.
The only problem with that is by witcher 3. They make it obvious that the monsters of the world is dwindling. Soon enough, witchers will be obsolete. Though they might add to the lore. I think it'll make sense to go into the past.
I think they should do a V style customization make the character established with facial customization and maybe gender too.
I don't know if going back in the timeline would work, given how ultimately we won't see what kind of effect our character has on the world. One way or another the events of the later games will happen, unless we go REALLY far back in the timeline to where we're some of the early Witchers. I think we should go FORWARDS in the timeline in order to show us the fruits of Geralt, Ciri, and the others' labor. Have a quest that takes us to Kovir and Poviss where we meet the mages Triss and Geralt saved, for example. Perhaps have a game about us helping to build up and restore our School from the brink of extinction, and maybe even give Geralt a cameo where he helps us with a quest or even a Contract. He'd likely be older and wiser than our character at that point.
That said, I would prefer making my own character, for the simple fact that I can have just as much fun with customizing my character through multiple playthroughs as playing the game and exploring the world. Customizing my character's visage as well as their build is part of what gives Elden Ring, for example, so much longevity and replayability for me. Plus, they could use the Witcher schools similarly to Cyberpunk lifepath options. The Witcher schools each have their own cultures and customs, so that could shape your Witcher's personality as well.
Im cool with custom or already established character but i want heavy customization.
They should do it how dragon age inquisition handled it. A fully customised character, but with preset, voiced lines that you picked from. You could also have differing voice types.
I think a more sand boxy witcher type game would be awesome with the freedom of skyrim to pick your side build your character etc
Go play Skyrim if you want to play Skyrim, the thing that makes the Witcher so great is the writing and the characters.
@@dylanbyrne1265ok it can still have cool characters and storylines?
Another thing I was wondering about: In NIghtmare of the Wolf we saw a witcher using an axe as a weapon. How do you feel about having the option to use different weapon types in a new Witcher game? Part of me thinks, that it would make sense for different schools or individuals to favor different weapons, but I could also see that, people might think it goes against what a witcher looks like and fights.
you can do that ingame, too.
I think every game the has a single player should let you make your own character so no one can complain any more about not being represented
I have very low expectations for the next Witcher game, I feel that CDPR is going to abandon the lore and amazing set of characters from the Witcher series and it's going to be border line impossible to replicate or even compete with playing as Geralt
To be fair they did that and still Gwent etc have good stories
lmao gwent@@kaushalsuvarna5156
Highly doubt that. The same people that worked on the story 20 years ago still work on witcher 4 now. And during their gdc talks you could see their passion for storytelling.
@@AFishWithoutFinsI personally don't see the place of a custom character in a storytelling game. It takes me out of the story. If you're telling a good story you've got to have a good main character.
@@adamdunne6645 not realy. a lot of the time the main character is a blank slate for the audiene/players to project themselves on.
I really hope they lean away from the 'make your own character' mindset. My favorite RPGs gotta be Witcher 3/2/ Detroit Become Human/ I found games like Skyrim and even Cyber Punk to be too wide and not deep enough. I think games like Mass Effect 1/2/3 do pretty well by allowing customization. But even the dialogue wheel can leave much to be desired. So idk. I really love the Witcher and I hope they do well by that IP.
If I want to play an Elder Scrolls game, then I'll play an Elder Scrolls game. I don't need a create your own character to enjoy a Witcher game.
Ciri could be a girl witcher.
The witcher's spoken dialogue is absolutely necessary for the story and game to hold my interest. I don't know how you could accomplish this with a create your own character.
Perhaps the next game should Ciri establishing the Schools of the Lynx, but that would only work for those of us who gave her the Witcher ending!
No I want be a witcher a mutant badass not that Kunt
Cmon. I don't wanna make my own Witcher! I want to be Geralt of Rivia!
His story is over. Time to move on
Geralt had a great ending in the Witcher 3. Although it would be great, I don't believe a new game with him as the main character would be as good as the current. What would be amazing is if they add more DLC's to Witcher 3 following the previous ones, now that I can live with!
We have seen that CDPR doesn't have the bandwidth for several endings without pre established lore. They messed up C2077 so bad (variety of endings wise, I actually loved the game and the PanAm ending)
For a multiple option tho
yes, i'd very much like a customized character. as much as you say that geralt is customizable to a point, he has too much of a backstory, he's a very set character, some people (me included) have just had time making decisions that feel ooc for him, bcos it ruins the immersion. and there's more than one way to create actually customizable character - like in game like dragon age 2 (as much as it's disliked) you always play as hawke and have a set backstory, family relations etc, but that's it, everything else about who hawke is is customizable. the same way we could have a witcher from the lynx school and that's established, and who they were before, but there are option for when we want to replay things, doing an evil run etc, that doesn't feel ooc bcos it's a new character. yes, it sometimes feel constricting when some option our character could have picked are not on the table bcos the devs didn't think of it, but i always felt cdpr is one of those companies that could have pulled it out, with their attention to detail. on the other hand i think they (or at least some of the devs) joined on the bg3 being "too big" butthurt, so maybe not, it might have been their way of saying they're not going in the direction of giving players more choices.
What could be really cool, is all the ruins in the world of witcher 3 are restored of you go back In time for witcher 4.
No I personally want to have make your own Witcher, who could have made a better Witcher than Geralt and who is to say the Witcher in The Witcher 4 won’t be even better (I don’t think they will ever beat Geralt but I’m sure it would be better than anything I made).
With new games there seems to be a trend towards "equality" so having a Witcher game with characters that are male, female and all the other stuff might actually happen, it would add replay-ability but only slightly.
No Geralt, no party.
I feel that the main character is going to end up like v he's an established custom character without the pointless life path because you were taken as a child it wouldn't make sense for you to have a life path before becoming a Witcher that would be fucking stupid
The issue with making your own character is the voice acting. Regardless of how you imagine your character he will have the voice of the voice actor, that voice actors and audio directors vision of how the lines should be said. Take Cyberpunk for instance everyone plays V, its just your V looks, and behaves a bit different from my V. Its sort of like a Hybrid, you make the established character fit you a bit more, but he is still ultimately the same character. I can't see them going further than that, unless the next game does not have a voiced protagonist, which would be difficult to imagine. In that case it would probably be first person.
Anyway we also know School of the Lynx is the thing right, and considering that school has no lore outside of fannon as of yet, it might be a new one. One made after the third game, cause otherwise there should be some historical reference to it. After all the witcher 3 ended with a minor conjunction of spheres, so a new flood of monster's could have appeared, meaning more witchers needed. I could imagine a storyline where the few remaining witchers from each school band together making a new school, particularly the cat and wolf school which if you hybridize somewhat equates to a lynx.
Anyway if we get a storyline where the remnants of the witcher schools band together you could get that experience where you can play a witcher from any shcool, since they have banded together. Personally though I would like to play a fresh witcher, one who is just past the trials, and learns about the world and monsters beside me. This would work with the witchers schools uniting concept. Imagine you could go around the school learning from different veteran witchers from different schools and backgrounds, and maybe eventually choose your witcher style. The character learning about monsters beside the player could also be a strong narrative tool.
Also I personally think we will probably get male witcher only, Ac games have way less voicelines than CDPR games, so its more of a budget blow to voice two protagonists. Though they took the effort in cyberpunk, but in that case the genre sort of demanded it, so I can see the justification for using budget on it.
I want Ciri 😂
Mixed bag. I like the idea and don't like it because of the lack of an original likeable character, but it wouldn't be too bad i suppose.
Since im souls fanboi id naturally love to see something about that, no matter if its elden ring or dark souls. To the thematic of the video i dont think a make your own Witcher game would be good except for the choice of gender. Imagine the amount of work that is needed to give the player the opportunity to play as every single school and make it as good as people expect it to be. theoretically if its just the intro part of the story like in dragon age 1, suddenly you have an area like white orchard from witcher 3 for every school. counting the manticore and lynx schools that would be 7 areas and if you tack that together, just looking at the size, it becomes comparable to Velen. thats already a lot of resources for that, imagine Witcher 3 without one of its main areas. Sure they could lead the player to the schools during the story and reuse them that way but i personally i dont see it. Another big issue is the voice acting, 2 main Voice actors would still be managable for male and female but anything more would result in the character not talking at all and you just reading the subtitles, which just counteracts the connection to your character.
Picking 1 or 2 witchers, male and female, and weaving them together during the Story would be much less work, and therefore way easier to make it good with the budget they have.
Gamedevs have to watch their budget, they only have that amount of resources. overinvesting in one aspect of the game inevitably means that the others wont be as good.
would you really want a game where you can fully customise your own character, gender, appearance, witcher school but knowing the trade of would be possibly no voice acting, a less refined story, copy pasted areas, bland quests or subpar combat?
Having 2 genders is a terrible idea that would do nothing but water down the dialogue. Otherwise, I agree.
Tbh, I prefer an already created character. That's what makes the Witcher games legendary. Character creation should be just for online mode
I think choosing characters is one reason why many story telling games aren't as memorable as before. Assassin's Creed is a good example. We all know and love ezio, buuut eivor and Kassandra? It's like the character youre playing as is a placeholder of sorts.
No it would be a better game with a pre set character and such
AI will change so much you will be able to upload a sample of your voice or face and then implant it in the game.
They need to just do geralt again. No protagonist is gonna top geralt so what’s the point in someone else
Would not work. Different schools are really far apart and therefore you would have to have like 5 different storylines for it to be authentic and essentially have 5 games in one. Plus witcher games are successful because they present interesting storylines similar enough to those in books meaning you would have to make up a story, characters and not fuck up the lore. I would like for it to cover more of the book stories, maybe a vesemir prequel.
Dragonfly is a canon female witcher. So it is possible.
Well I'm not entirely sure how canon the pen and paper game is, so it's still uncertain
or maybe just remake the earlier games ?
no they should stick tp pre established characters it simply make for a way superior storytelling and honestly is way more immersive and makes more sense
I want to play as a female witcher
The lore says it is impossible to have a girl Witcher… whatever ambiguity that is going on now is all made up to force it into the fans. 😓
I like the idea of having multiple set characters to choose from and their stories intertwine. Think like gta 5 with the 3 characters you can swap between at will, have each playable character be from a different witcher school to mix up the play style and provide more layers and background to the lore, then possible have quests where you have to swap between them to complete certain tasks, challenging the play to re adjust to a different play style in an instant
Swtor turned me off from the make your own character thing, the games are better if it’s an established character with lore
To give thoughts before watching, assuming it builds on the same idea that CDPR originally concocted before picking Geralt as the protagonist, I’d be excited. Witcher 1 is unique where you could shape Geralt a little more than in 2 or 3. If they went with that in a smart way it would be cool without being too invalidating to the source material, like a similar concept to Berengar
Video Idea, would like to know your opinion on the ending of “Season of Storms” do you believe the ending was Sapkowski’s way of loosely acknowledging the games or do you believe it was something else entirely?
I think if anything, character creation would be in the multiplayer Molasses Flood game. I'm still hoping for Witcher 4 to be a Ciri game.
The Witcheress 1.
game is about witcher and protagonist is ciri?
I'd rather play a mentally challenged Drowner ciri sucks
Personally, I can’t see Ciri being the protagonist in a mainline Witcher game that is a RPG. To me, that would limit how much I could enjoy the game’s systems like romance, because I don’t want to control her doing that stuff. That would just feel gross to me. There is also the elephant in the room that Ciri isn’t really a witcher, even if you take into account the “good” ending in W3. A female simply couldn’t be a Witcher because the term “Witcher” is a masculine noun, because that’s what Sapkowski made it. Sapkowski created “Wiedzmin” as a masculine noun based on the feminine word for witch, “Wiedzma”. So a game with Ciri as protagonist couldn’t be called “The Witcher” unless they are as liberal with naming of the title as Netflix. Beyond Ciri, there are the lore reasons for why there are no female witchers, and that the witchers taking these kids for making more witchers would probably hesitate with taking little girls and putting them through the trial of the grasses.
I think it would be a bad thing.
Players would want Ciri as the main lead protagonist.
Just not the Ciri from Netflix.
Not me. Ciri is a great character, but a terrible protagonist. I want her to be there, but I dont want to be her.
edit: My friend group mostly agrees, apart from the one guy who is just besotted by her.
@@sf12394 for me it depends heavily on the writing.
A comprise would be two protagonists, but that doesn’t always work positively.
Ciri sucks
I prefer to play as Letho of Gulet and its other Viper witchers. Just like we played with Geralt throughout the trilogy.
I do not like that idea. I want already created character, not my character. This is why I love this trilogy, because I could lore play what Geralt could do.
If you have the imagination to think of what Geralt would do in a situation then I think you could probably find fun in creating your own character or designing and role playing as literally any character you want. I like the bg3 approach, where you can play as either one of the "origin" characters which are the companions, or you can create your own. I made Bronn of the Blackwater for my first playthrough and role played his personality and build to the best of my knowledge and it's been a blast
It is one of the few games I loved playing a pre established character but with his story concluded I wouldn't mind a custom character prequel. Maybe in a monster hunter style. The school is the hub and the contracts send you out on missions. Have a few areas for open world expeditions and side quests. I feel that would fit in a prequel setting when witchers were at their peak.
Me to
I do think that it should be of an already created character. THO I would pay good money for a OC Witcher maybe a prequel that has nothing to really do with the games
I really don’t want that. I want a set character we are already familiar with.
I'd actually settle between the two have an early part of the characters origin set while having the rest customizable
The game has to be set either before or after the games. Technically a good idea would be a game version of the books, but since it is a school of the lynx, I would say that it should be set after Witcher 3. Maybe a type of “last Witcher” in the area. If it’s before then definitely when all the Witcher schools were thriving where the main character has connections with multiple schools and has an action packed story.
I don't like the idea, it makes it impossible to make meaningful storylines. What I like instead is a choice between Witchers from different schools with different storylines for each school. We already have possible Witchers, for example the guys from Witcher 3s treasure hunts for the armors. Or we just have one new character and that's it.
Is not going to be making ur own witcher because they are making witcher mmo where u make u own witcher having same in polaris is going to have no logic big chance Ciri to be the main
Yeah no thanks. If I wanted to play a Bethesda game, I'd play a Bethesda game, or the countless other ripoffs where you play as a blank-slate protagonist with no personality other than the one you project onto it. Playing as an established, well written character with his own personality and prior relationships regardless of what choices you make is the thing that makes the Witcher such an incredible game in the first place.
Nope it would be terrible to all a sudden making the witcher with a character u can customize. So many games already let u do that. Changing a game series that has done so good with a set character is so dumb. Just make a new set character. Otherwise the whole game is gonna feel off. U mine as well go play skyrim.
I dont think a female Witcher would work, what would they even call them because "Witcher" is a masculine title.
I like the idea of being a Witcher in an open world, but I was never too crazy about Geralt himself. So, I like the idea.
Please no, I don't want to play an open world sandbox game, Either give ud geralt again or make an establisged character..
Me personally, I'd personally want them to make a multiplayer section for custom characters but make it story-based, almost like an MMO but not quite.
I do and dont liek that idea
Like i really want more Gerlt story and we wouldn't get that with MYO.
@@cainsalim4802I have to disagree. Geralt is done, his story is over. I don’t want to see him at all in witcher 4
@@cainsalim4802I can see that but there is the risk of beating the dead horse so to speak. His story really is over, sometimes ending a story is better than continuing. We will see.
@@BLP04 see i disagree, why not set a game before the books like they more than likely already are?
@@cainsalim4802 what would the point be? We’ve had eight books and three games dedicated to Geralt. What else could they possibly explore that we don’t get there? It would just burn out the character. They should let him rest
I always like games where you can create your own character, but I’m unsure if it’s the right fit for The Witcher. I feel like it works pretty well in Cyberpunk 2077, where you can customise V but they still feel like an actual character rather than a complete blank slate. It’s not perfect obviously but not bad. Would be interesting to see how that would work in The Witcher, but it’s a difficult question
Look up Cyoa witcher that how i wish it was pick a school and each school has it's own perks
Just like with the MMO idea I feel like this would be cool after the next 4 Witcher games are made. Diverting too far from the originals could cause the projects to flop and get future possible Witcher content canceled so I'd rather they slowly change the games so it's gradual rather than just a sudden jump from lore and character-based trilogy to customization based character creation as the jump would be really jarring.
This won't work, it's common sense. Imagine if witcher 3 had a custom character - gender, race and all. The game would be so different it would pretty much be a completely different game. What is the likelyhood that this theoretical witcher 3 would be as good as what we got? Near zero, the witcher 3 is too good for that. Reinventing the wheel like this is a recipe for disaster, and true witcher fans know this.
You can not make your own character this is not MMORPG. How will you incorporate non-existent hero in the game story? He will not be mentioned a single time, especially things related to his appearance
As long as they don’t go woke… I’d prefer a choose your own character over a woke protagonist predesigned
Define your terms. Is "going woke" allowing people to create women?
@@Thechezbailey Making the next Witcher a Mary Sue even though female Witchers are impossible to make according to the books. Or making a Witcher game with a non-Witcher protagonist just because they want a female protagonist. Like Netflix managed to ruin the Show by going woke and pissing on the source material.
Just look at Starfield's woke backlash. Better to not have a choice.
I do not want a make your own character. The strength of the Witcher games is the story and character development. If there are countless different characters it makes it a lot harder to fit the storyline around them. You can't have the depth we had in Witcher 3. I believe it will make for a broad brush story. Or to me weaker wishy washy stories.
Is it worth losing the strengths of Witcher 3 just to placate those who want to follow the 21st century predication for self entitlement. In the end once you have created your own physical character, one that vaguely resembles yourself as you wish you looked, it has virtually no bearing on the game.
I will always vote no.
I personally want Ciri as the protagonist and I feel like there are ways to make her gameplay work but I would be perfectly happy with anything else if it has good writing like the previous games
It just wouldn’t work, I like ciri and all, but it simply wouldn’t work. She’s way too overpowered and there’s literally no other character besides Gaunter O’Dimm who could beat her. And it would make ALL endings in Witcher 3, except the Ciri becoming a Witcher, non canon. Technically the games aren’t canon, but you know what I mean.
@@phantomwarrior0313 true but I think a nerf in the gameplay could work although I don't know a story reason to explain it. I guess we will have to see what cdpr has in store for us then.
@@phantomwarrior0313 as for the endings, they could make like 3 separate lifepaths like in cyberpunk, the witcher, the empress and presumed dead one(maybe they could make her fake the death in that one). This is of course my opinion tho and it probably won't end up happening
@@thewhiteknight752 a nerf would be lazy writing in my opinion. We will have to come to terms with Geralt’s story and timeline is over. So we pretty much just need another Witcher with charisma that has the ability to make love to anything with 2 legs 💀 and a story with a rich amount of action, hunting, and politics.
@@phantomwarrior0313 yeah I wouldn't mind that to be honest
Definetely NOT create your "own" witcher. Sorry, it seems like a dumb idea - just to throw away their amazing ability to write an awesome protagonist, with a story and a scope, professionally voice acted and so on(a living character) - for a silent no name Skyrim-like protagonist. Do the people asking for that actually understand this?? It's like throwing away half of what makes an amazing CDPR RPG. Sure, a bit of customization wouldn't hurt(scars, hair, etc) but we need a written protagonist by them not an MMO avatar.
I don't want to make my own witcher. I want good writing and no woke political garbage.
