Perfect Dark is only running at 30fps, it won't go any higher. Is there some special setting to make it do 60fps?

Seeing how dedicated the RPCS3 Dev Team is to their project is amazing, It's awesome just to see all the technical progress they make even if I only actually use RPCS3 very often. Shows that effort into anything stands out.
Let's just hope Sony doesn't ruin it like Nintendo did to yuzu and citra.

Rpcs3 is gonna reach such a high compatibility in the next few years, I hope we can run in on phones soon.
I hope we can run it with 60 fps in low end hardware. PS3's hardware was released in 2007. I am aware of the complications and extra needs of emulation but, the hardware was 17 years ago...
@godnyx117 and it was completely different in terms of architecture than anything that came before and after which makes the extra overhead from emulation especially expensive compared to other consoles.
@@elirantuil5003 It is. That's why I said that I understand the complications it requires to emulate it. But again, if you see the hardware it had... A low end PC in 2024, is at least 20 times stronger. At least in the CPU part. I won't even talk about midrange, let alone high end hardware...

@godnyx117 it just doesn't correlate to the power your PC has the same way. Your point of reference are other consoles, that's just not how it works.
Dream cast emulation up until somewhat recently was pretty bad for how old the console is in a way that is much more jarring than how ps3 is now.
Wii emulation is smoother on dolphin and easier to run than GameCube emulation.
There's a working switch emulator on android but there isn't one for wii-u. It just doesn't work like that and what we're seeing now is the push to get it from playable to performant.
I love emulation devs. They do work for free and for a just cause. They're good people who deserve better.
I am really happy for the RPCS3 team they're doing an amazing job!

rpcs3 on the steam deck definitely got some improvements. The darkness & draken guard are running alot better

Very nice! I always wanted RPCS3 to improve for slower processor chips so that we can have a better frame rate for PS3 games on handheld PC's like the Steam Deck!

Usually when I see RPCS3's performance improvements covered up, it seems like those only affect high end CPUs. But now they show that they actually care about low end CPUs and that's amazing! Major props to the dev team.

As someone with a 4 core 8 thread processor, this PPCS3 news sounds literally game changing... Oh wow, I didn't even think about Steamdeck performance since I hadn't installed emulators on it yet.
Better upgrade ypur hardware if you are in Am4 it will be a simple upgrade but if you are in intel then it better to upgrade 4c/8t it becomes obsolete
I loved PoP lost crown. Big fan of Prince of Persia games anyway. But it's a very solid action platformer with good fighting mechanics and top tier platforming. Seeing more RPCS3 improvements is great and xenia canary improvements are also always fantastic for the games we can't play elsewhere.

Super excited for any big RPCS3 news. So close to being able to play GoW smoothly, lol. Happy to see the Fable 2 emulator getting some love, too. ;)
Nothing comes remotely close to the sincereity and devotion to all the develepors part of RPCS3, Xenia, and other projects for their subsistent dedication to not only preserve retrospective games, but to efficiently optimize and enhance them beyond their native counterparts. Sometimes small, but the changes dramatically improve the experiences.

Nice to see RPCS3 got a major performance improvement. Currently running RPCS3 through Batocera front end on an older 4c/8t i7 3770 system and it can run about 75% of PS3 and PSN games. So likely when Batocera receives this update I'll go back and test some of the games that weren't playable due to slow performance issues.
With these performance improvements it will make the impossible, possible with rpcs3 on android. Be it natively or not.

@@acwbit2368 I mean, we already can run it on phones (none native) so these newer builds will run it better. Obviously a native port is still out of reach, but it gives us more hope of one.

I wish Shovel Knight DX was an update for Treasure Trove, but the features are solid. The stereoscopic 3D on 3DS was actually cool and having such a customizable experience with the cheats, characters, and multiplayer will add a ton of replayability.
Might grab it on a good discount at some point.

How tf they managed to do so, the thought of it is just nuts. And yeah everyone talking here about handheld emulation on the steam deck but you don't realize that this is a GREAT step forward to emulation on Android?
Not only that but ARM emulation is guaranteed now with the Snapdragon X, is just question of even months to see this on Android.
It terms of licensing, it appears the X line will only be available for W11 and Linux. No Android as of now. It could change next year, but based on what has been shown, not happening this year. Too be fair, it makes sense, previously the other chips from which Microsoft then developed SQ1 and SQ2 were also only available for Linux even if no one used them as ARM based Desktop OS Development was just not there yet. Outside of Mac.

I'm pretty sure the X won't come to android, but since is extremely powerful and is gaining a lot of popularity emu devs (And more PC devs) surely will develop a version of their software for it, SD X is based on ARM Which is the same as android with same API renderers and even drivers right? Then that means that those ports will be extremely easy to transfer to android, I mean those chipsets are literally the same as on you smartphone just bigger, I even wouldn't be surprised if those ports (If they ever came to existence) are directly compatible with Android and you just have to recompile it to android.
@@psycho_ch7281 The issue before was around power profile. Now power profiles are the same as in mobile. Now the only issue are Drivers, Bios and Licensing. But yes, they are now as close to Top End smartphone chips as they can be.
RPCS3 improvements make me really happy. Maybe I should go back to Demon's Souls soon.
Might have to see if things are any better on my Intel Hd 620 laptop.

Prince of Persia is an amazing game, the only drawback is that it came out of UniSoft and I will never give them a cent. I played it on ryujinx at 60 fps. No complains
I'm not a fan of spiderman games but a fan of spiderman movies. Im also not a fan of Batman movies but a fan of Batman games. I do have spiderman 1 and 2 plus all Arkham games in my ps5 collection.

I've got 6 cores 12 threads Ryzen 5 1600. The only PS3 game that I'm interested in though is The Last Of Us. This new update about the SPU boosted a lot of frames but still my thing is stuttering, can't keep consistent performance. I don't want to upgrade my CPU to some top tier CPU. I have to change the whole motherboard in order for me to get some AVX 512 compatible CPU. I hope there is more to be upgraded about RPCS3.
3:06 what does he mean by "floaty controls and lack of music" from the rare replay version ? The Rare Replay is exactly identical to the Xbox 360 version but in 4k instead of 720p.
If I had any money, I would be throwing it at the screen for the RPCS3 and Xenia teams, great pieces of software!

The performance improvements for RPCS3 must vary with each game because I've tested the ratchet and clank games and the resistance 2 and I saw little to no difference in performance.

Man, I do wish that Xenix/Xbox 360 emulators would get the same amount of love as RPCS3/PS3 emulators...Seriously, RPCS3 is really getting neat updates, despite that I haven't touched the emulator since the late 2010s early 2020s (2018/2020).

If they think I'm buying shovel knight for the fourth time, they're delusional. This could easily have been a free update to the treasure trove version of the game. A version they sold as "The definitive edition" of shovel knight.

Prince of Persia incorporates more than denuvo. It incorporates ubisuck which is far worse than denuvo.

I will have some money at the end of this year, so I am thinking of buying a decent laptop (I need the portability).... But with the increasing scandal with windows and Microsoft.... I'm thinking of buying a snapdragon 8 gen 1 and up tablet.... But tablets aren't powerful enough for ps3 emulation and there's no ps3 and wii u emulator for Android.😢
Ugh, been waiting for PoP to come to Steam, but Denuvo=no sale. Hopefully they'll ditch it later as others have done.

RPCS3 is designed entirely around x86-64 CPUs, so to port it to Android, an enormous amount of work would need to be done to port it to ARM with the same level of of performance

High end phones are actually powerful enough to do that. It’s mostly just the hardwork that’s needed in emulating these systems. Developing emulators in super tough. I admire the people who do it simply for the high of cracking it all.

Gran Turismo still runs bad on RPCS3 , barely noticeable, and demon souls is already low end game
I don't like Elad's RPCS3 patches, my main build is close to when he became a main developer. Info: Regressions - Present in almost every contribution he makes, it's like midas touch but backwards. Sacrificing visual quality/stability for better performance - this last build is just ridiculous, even in your own video you should've been able to see there's no more details on the wheels or gate running with rpcs3 latest build. At last, whatever floats your boat..
