    Questions/Time Stamps
    3:34 Will we be able to set different zoom levels as default?
    5:19 Do you plan to add filters on the interior maps and star maps so we can easily find specific Point Of Interest?
    9:24 Will our map pinpoint markers that we drop be persistent if we log out and log back in the next day?
    10:42 Will we be able to share the locations that we save from the star map with other players?
    11:29 Will we be able to set pins in space?
    12:11 What progress has been made on UI elements to assist with landing ships from the first person pilot seat view?
    16:07 What's up with the UI being so holographic it can become unreadable at some times?
    20:37 Why don't you just start with readability and then add style later?
    26:24 Technical Difficulties
    27:26 Readability?
    35:49 What other Mobi Glass Apps can we look forward to?
    37:55 Is there a plan to avoid HUD clutter?
    43:12 Search bars and scrollable chat?
    44:19 Latitude longitude altitude readout question
    47:02 Are there plans to make the UI UX of the cockpit view be as good as the external starship view?
    49:07 Will planets in the Star Map be an actual render from the real ones?
    50:16 The current animation for opening the Mobi Glass is rather slow. Now that we have great things like interior maps, is there a potential to quickly check Mobi where you are?
    52:42 Why does path finding not work between several rooms or even several planets?
    56:02 Will there be a means of locating our ships further out then just 20km away?
    57:30 Ultra widescreen monitors?
    59:30 What about the ability to change where your mini map is? (Customization)

    Keep up the good work CIG! Way too often people forget that nothing is final, like in most other game releases/updates! People tend to grab the pitchforks way too early 😅 I know first-hand how much CIG works on a patch during the E/PTU testing cycle ❤And when a patch finally goes Live the iterative process doesn't stop, that's THE best thing about CIG, the constant care and love they have for the game and the community is mostly unmatched in this industry, people have to learn to appreciate CIG , we have a VERY good thing going on here! Kudos! 😁🚀

    PLEASE: Give us some navigation/landing aids!
    - Radar altimeter, so we know how far above the surface our ship is!
    - Landing camera, so that we can look down to where we are landing
    - Landing pad position indicator, electronic "bullseye" indicator
    - Holographic path indicators, to show the path to your assigned landing pad/hangar.
    The current tick mark can be hard to find if you are on the wrong side of a station. Some holographic frames of the suggested path to the pad would be nice, to make it simpler to see the approach path from all angles.

    Elite Dangerous has a nice system for when landing gear are deployed that a holographic image of the ship appears replacing the central radar display with a zoomed out view of the ship and its surroundings, whether that be a landing pad which has guides lines and a central point to aim for or just the lay of the terrain and indicators if its too steep or bumpy for your ship to land on.
    Something similar to this ai think would work great for Star Citizen especially since it could just use much of the same data and methods as the new minimap does in 3.23. Popup a overlay on the ships HUD or in the corner of the helmet when landing gear are deployed. Should work like a charm for the most parts.

    If they focus on "Readability but not how we see it" then I'd argue that's much the same as simply not focusing on readability. We don't read wire frames, and the number 1 thing that makes a UI/HUD cool is functionality. Everything else is tied for last place.

  • @monosaturated
    @monosaturated Před měsícem

    The mobiGlass and org comment is very intriguing! I've been wondering about how orgs would be integrated into contracts, whether there would be missions that aren't simply criminal but have some kind of in-game political reason (and consequence); i.e. working for Hurston to put down a Worker's Party operation as well as working with the Worker's Party to sabotage Hurston's operations.

    25:11 Glad Zane calls this out... it was driving me crazy.... The first few times I thought it was server lag.
    33:55.. That Effect is the ONE thing I wish they'd change about SC... For example.. the Syulen has three pulse bar purple lights on the cockpit dash... It's a really cool effect.. but it causes the in-game effect (de-saturation/de-contrast) they're describing to trigger... After playing longer than 10 minutes or so I get throbbing headaches because my eyes (My eyes, not my ' character') to constantly ACTUALLY adjust.. so it's a doubly intense effect. The longer I try to fly that ship, the more intense the affect. IT LITERALLY BRINGS ME PAIN. But I guess it's a feature not a bug. Sigh.

    Can we please have a loitering penalty for leaving your ship on landing pads at orbital stations? Possibly impound after something like 30 min and add a fee to reclaim said ship. The clutter is insane on a very high trafficked station.

  • @JoseJimenez-fc6pu

    My idea to address the QT marker display clutter.
    Say you start up your QD, and you toggle (scroll wheel?) through a generalised list of Poi's to display on your hud.
    Refinery Stations, Lagrange Points, Planets, Jump Points, etc. And set your markers to display only one of those location types on the hud.
    Default markers for when you first turn on your QD would only display for the local planetary system you're currently in. Show that planet's landing zone, the moons, OMs, and LEO station, and that's it. Keep the display as clean as possible.
    I think that would really help minimize overlapping markers if you don't want to just type in the location you want on the search bar. Maybe even use the search bar itself to do all the above. No toggles or scroll wheels needed.
    I say it's my idea, but it seems like such an obvious one to fix the cluttering I find it impossible to believe they didn't think this already. And maybe they have and that's the plan "in the future", eventually.
    But what do I know? I'm just here trying to QT to where I actually wanna go. 😒

  • @velocitymg
    @velocitymg Před měsícem

    Had a thought about landings in first person, carriers have an OLS and pilots follow the “ball” to guide them onto the deck and indicate whether they are too high, too low etc. perhaps this can be modified into a 6dof environment on the radar where there are green or red markers to show a ship is positioned correctly to allow entry into the hangar. Ie, the pilot calls ATC, radar changes to red lights around a depiction of the ship with arrows and as the pilot moves they change. Once all green, the pilot can descend, fly straight etc into the hangar. For pads with no ATC it will still be up to pilots to land safely just like in the real world using proximity warnings as an alert.

    as someone who has a 21:9 monitor, moving and resizing things like mini-map that tend to choose the absolute corner is very helpful. Looking back at what you said earlier "make it data driven because the ruleset is too big." The rule-set you need to beat customization is equally as difficult in comparison. If you are looking to solve the majority of use cases.

    My thoughts for a systemic solution for overlapping quantum markers would be to merge the markers into one larger and different coloured marker. The pilot clicks onto the marker, a pop up box then appears with the list of merged poi’s The pilot can then choose and select their desired location to begin navigation.

I am not colorblind but had major injuries to my eyes from military injuries. I have trouble focusing certain colors. For me, certain features like chromatic stuff I literally cannot focus at all on and brings instant pain when I look at something like that. Thankfully in that case, I can turn it off. But yea, you really need to put some work into this because it is a real life problem for many backers.

    Only at the 20 minute mark here, but I wanted to stop and take the time to write this while it was fresh.
    I truly appreciate all the tweaks that have gone into the UI in 3.23 since it first dropped.
    It has gone a long way to keep me able to play.
    Some of it was a bit overdone, and I am glad that wrangling it in was an option.
    The strobing on things was really bad for me. Just in how fast and how bloomy the strobe effect was.
    You all did amazing job to dial it in on the mininmap. You can still see it, but now I can actually look at the minimap for a period of time.
    It is subtle enough that is isn't triggering anything for me.
    I really appreciate that the strobing was removed form the main ship UI. QT markers got a pass, the circle animation with the glittery effect was killing me.
    Pretty happy with all the tweaks. I am glad that feedback helped to get it to where it is.

  • @sjoervanderploeg4340
    @sjoervanderploeg4340 Před měsícem

    Maybe one could place a beacon and other ships can pick up the beacon with scanning but only you have it on the map?
    So when you leave for example some quantanium behind, you leave a beacon there to return to the exact same spot (quantum jump) when you are done transporting. When you return you can then disable the beacon to retrieve it or something.

Think less flashy and more intuitive and informative (without giant text all over things). Smaller icons maybe and not so bright. 'Cool' is sometimes less and sleek, not more and flashy. That better not mean global chat goes away. That would just fly in the face of the large chunk of players that don't play with an org. Most of my experiences and most of the friends I've made in the game were randoms in global chat.

    @22:12 I think that is great, when you are pulling high g or concussed, you should see a blurry scene on your opticals because your brain is particularly messed up and that does mess with perception significantly. Nevermind the liquor or drugs you can acquire in-game ;)

    I really want to see Zane make the "Google Earth"-like Starmap work.
    Another thing I'm hoping is for a topographical layer for those of us who can read and appreciate those. Although if he's able to make the Starmap have a very good shaded relief visualization, that'd be basically as good. Better for some, I'm sure.
    The point is I'd really like to be able to identify hills and valleys. Idk if roughness in terms of very rocky/messy terrain can also be visualized to help players pick better surface routes for tank convoys etc.

    Given changes in recent patches, the readability is fantastic. So, if someone is finding it bad at the moment. I suspect it must be because of the bugs they mentioned.

    @ 50:02 YES, you could save a rock formation you found and post a location contract and sell the data to miners that would gladly go and mine the rocks. The miners should be able to give you a serious negative rating if they get attacked by pirates while picking up your rocks. Maybe a dual contract is required? We'll give you the coordinates and provide security while you pick them up??

    • @Scrobes
      @Scrobes Před měsícem

      yes, I really hope they could add a dynamic contract creator. So players could create any sort of task/job, and then publish it for anyone else to undertake. You see date created, timeframe of undertaking, creator name + reputation, payment, etc.
      So data trade, item trade, cargo transport (imagine being able to take a contract to move another player's inventory from one place to another, and it's all physicalised..), escort, bounty, refuel, medical aid or rescue, personnel transport, towing ship, salvage....

    • @velocitymg
      @velocitymg Před měsícem

      Why give someone who gave you coordinates a bad rating if you were attacked by pirates? You review the product, if the rock had nothing you could give a poor rating, if there was no rock, you could give a bad rating, because you got pulled from quantum and attacked by pirates has nothing to do with the product. It’s like saying, I bought a product from Amazon and it works great but it gets 1 star because FedEx left it at the bottom of the stairs instead of the porch.
