Marine Corps Bootcamp is 13 weeks long, after Bootcamp, you’ll go to the School of Infantry. If your job is anything other than infantry you will attend the Marine Combat Training course (MCT) and then to your follow on school for whatever job you chose. If you ARE in the Infantry you’ll go to the Infantry Training Battalion (ITB) to learn your job..”rifleman, mortarman, anti tank assault man or machine gunner). In this video this is a short glimpse into MSG training (Marine Security Guard) training. They guard U.S. embassies around the World.
Thanks for typing all this out so I didn't have to hahaha
Semper Fi Brother
and just to add. for MSG duty, the Marine has to have already served their initial 4-year active-duty contract. and has to reenlist to get selected for MSG duty.
@@casualgerm And pass the most in depth background check this nations screens for. also in this school the phrase integrity violation is spoken daily as a threat to your future in this MOS
Ryan as a Unite States Marine I have the upmost respect for my brother Marines across the pond. A quick story for you that you will surly enjoy is, I was stationed at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport California where we trained in cold weather and mountain warfare. During my time there I found out we had what you would call a foreign exchange program. We’d send a U.S. Marine to one of your schools to work and train and the Royal Marines would send one of theirs to our base for a couple years. Anyway we had a Royal Marine we all called colors, I’m sure you know why. Anyway my story is we went on somewhat a holiday to Hawaii, a group of U.S. Marines and colors. While we were there we were aloud to have our fun but also had some hikes and other mandatory fun we had to do. Prior to one of these hikes, up over 1,000 steps up the side of a defunct volcano I decided to drink my ass off until it was time to step out for the hike. Being young and dumb I thought I was invincible and could do this hike while I was drunk, without sleep, and without any preparation. The morning comes and the mountain in front of me was daunting, but not impossible. At first I was strong and confident but the hike took its tole until I made it to the top. I make it to the top sweating out all the beer and bad decisions I made the night before but the way down killed me. First my legs were started giving out and the dehydration started to kick in. All that yelling and screaming about “hydrate or die” really meant something to me now. At some point after about half way down on the hike down I collapsed unconscious and lo and behold colors ended up carrying me back down to the bottom. The rest of the Marines and colors got me water and took care of me until I came too. They only teased me a little but I can’t thank colors enough for what he did. He was a color sergeant with years of experience, he took care of me. With that being said, I know if I’m ever in a fire fight and I have someone from the Royal Marines next to me I know I’m in good hands. Ryan thank you for your service and Semper Fi.
They are going easy on these CZcamsrs. Giving them special rooms to sleep in. Minimal PT. And absolutely zero yelling at them. This is nothing like what any branch of the military goes through for training.
They are training with the U.S. Marines Embassy Security.
I think it would be really great to see you go through the whole Marines Training. To see how it compares with the Commandos training you went through. And get your thoughts about the similarities and differences.
Great video today. Thanks.
Blessings to y'all from the Great State of Texas 🇺🇸
"yeah the gas is fine, didnt have any problems with it... except for spewin my left lung up" this killed me dude somtimes i dont even know when ur joking 😂😂
U.S. Marine Corps Bootcamp is 13 weeks long. After that you’ll go to your school for whatever job you choose. If you’re Infantry you’ll go to the School of Infantry, Infantry Training Battalion (ITB) if you’re NON Infantry you’ll still go to the School of Infantry but instead you’ll go through a short course called Marine Combat Training or (MCT). And Marine Security Guards guard U.S. Embassies around the World. It’s called MSG duty, and is considered a “B” billet (special assignment) like Drill instructor or a recruiter.
Marine Security Guards -MSG- is Embassy Marine security duty
I think they do other things too, right? When I toured the U.S.S. Midway, they said that the room on the ship armed with nuclear warheads were guarded by particularly surly marines
@@IndyofthedeadI know back when I was in that was true.
@@IndyofthedeadMSG does guard more than just embassies.
Best shots overall?
"That first relay, this will be your 5th stage of the KD course, the 500 yard line slooww fiirrre, firing 10 rounds, prone, in a total time limit of 10, 10 minutes"'...
"Is the line ready?
Ready on the right?
Ready on the left?
The LINE is READY!"
"Shooters, you may commence firing when your Baker targets appear"
"TARGETS!"
S/F🇺🇸
I worked with some Marine Security Guards in various embassies. They were always good guys.
Love the trigger jerk and msg is mainly embassy duty
Great video, keep up the good work bro
That Master Sergeant who seems like a very good fit for this job. He can be rough but very calming aswel if people go to panic. Nice dude.
I am a US Army 98B Military Police Vet.. We started off the day with push ups, sit ups, pull ups and a 3 to 5 mile run. That was before breakfast.
We use to go through what is like city drain pipes. They rip the manhole cover off and you drop down. Only light was coming through the holes once you made it to the next manhole cover. Pipes were tight and stagnated water was up to your chin as you crawled through. Always hated being the first man because there may a snake down there. Prone, water up to your chin, can't stand, very low light and perhaps a snake. Fun times.
I imagine that crawling tunnel exercise has a dark reason it exists. Considering they're embassy security, it probably prepares them for a collapsed building in the event of a embassy bombing.
A Marine Security Guard (MSG) provides safety of Diplomatic Missions to conduct diplomacy. They protect U.S. Embassies abroad.
I only know from 2 friends in the late 70s who went to Parris Island. This is nothing compared to their story. They evolved from Humans to Rocks (non humans) to Marines. This is a holiday visit.
You definitely haven’t reacted to any of Tanner’s content before (most of his time on CZcams he was a trampoliner) but he’s pretty funny, always positive even through breaking his neck, and always open to trying new things.
Also, if you want to record a video with the USMC find a way to reach out to them. Our military is missing the quotas bad they’ll do anything for good publicity.
adopting the UK's Littoral role is the US Marine Corps way of "making the quotas" lol
Marine Corps training is 13 weeks long, and Marine Infantry is 13 weeks long now last I heard
I think you miss the point, this isn't a "bit of recruit training", which is 13 weeks, the dude's getting a bit of the 9 week MSG course.
Us Marines and UsArmy both practice freedom through accuracy by volume. More so the reason when in combat shots do count. The placement of rounds is drilled into both branches just as shooting techniques are. Trigger squeeze, sight picture, breath control, shooting stance/ position. All build a better marksman to help win fights in combat. Thus helping in winning wars .
20:17 basically how the US Army does it if I remember, you go in with your OCP uniform and a gas mask, then you remove it and do jumping Jacks, Soldier's Creed, a cadence
Did you love the "state of the art" accommodations of 29 Stumps?
Gas training boot camp..EVERYONE took masks off at same time..20 of us..we stood and stayed in there till they asked everyone a question..then they let us out..63 year old former marine from south carolina
You got it at the end. That was the older sister who is like a grand champion chess player along with her younger sister. Amazingly beautiful sisters who aren't scared of anything.
Dude bo-Tez LOL
I was airborne infantry in the 82nd !
(Pretty sure this MOS in the USMC
is basically the same as ARMY MP's)
🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
Nope!!! Marine Security Guard MSG Are Embassy Guards... MP's Are Totally Different...
I went though 2 gas chambers at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri and the one we took off our masks, took a breath and had to say our name. Then we left through the back door which was 2 90degree angles and then boom right into a big ass tree. That hurt the face because every thing was blurry and i was pucking and snot was pouring out of my nose.
This isn't recruit training, the guys that go through this are already Marines.
MSG Marines primary responsibility is to guard the ambassadors and all the classified documents and equipment in locations around the world.
You gotta have good marks, be mature, be smart enough ( have a 90 or higher GL score), be single, and not have kids just to be considered for it.
My Boot camp cycle last year was 13 weeks, it's now 15 weeks if I'm not mistaken
Marines do a multitude of security positions from protecting naval installations, embassy duty, and the white house just to name a few. As far as rifle qualification in my day if you shot expert that meant you were hitting a man-sized target at 500 yards, not meters mind you that's 5 football fields.
Marine marksmanship is a sniper course compared to most other countries and there sniper course is insanity
They do security, prison guards. If you really want a pass. I'll get you one. They won't let you film everything. But i can work something out!
When I went through USMC boot, we removed our mask and recited our rifle serial #
I survived Marine Corps training as a Marine. He is getting just a small taste.
Boot Camp was definitely not fun. But Semper Fi!
I served as a rifleman in the USMC and I think any healthy person can do it.. it depends on if they WANT to do it. I joined weighing 118lbs, never touched sports, and high school was mostly as a fast food worker and part of the chess club.
Marine security is at US Embassies.
Yep..boot camp 1980..EVERYBODY TOOK OFF THERE MASKS AND KEPT THEM OFF WHILE EACH INDIVIDUAL WAS ASKED A QUESTION..20 GUYS AT A TIME...THEN WE PUT ON MASKS...TOOK FOREVER..SEEMEDIKE ANYWAY
13 weeks plus ( depending on your MOS)
Damn, I used to watch tanners trampoline videos when I was younger. have not seen his face in a while. Great watch ryan!
People also have to understand that The United States is a very young country that is spent almost all of its time in some sort of war. So does something we do very well. A Marines during the early days we're shooting enemy combatants from the riggings of ships so accuracy is very important.
Yeah, but they were an outgrowth of royal marines who did the same thing. before 1776, all the active continental marines, were actually just royal marines. after 1776, they basically became us marines (not exactly, but you get the idea). The same with the US army. Washington was a British Army Officer in the auxilliary. he was a redcoat and was "unkillable" during the 7 years war against France.
@@tewkewl lol I know my Marine Corps history, it was drilled into us as aspired core in boot camp. The quatrefoil is there for a reason. Lol
Kids got stones! Lot of respect for him and the other young youtubers embarking on this challenge. Quantico, Va is actually one me of the best looking bases Marine Corps wide. Ryan as always thank you for showing my beloved Corps love and respect. Tons of respect to you as fellow brethren Marine. Semper Fi brother! STACK BODIES!
PS keep the awesome content coming!
MSG is MUCH more. It preps State Department assigned Marines to consulates and embassies around the world. The training is extensive and goes well beyond physical security. Look it up.
13 week boot camp!
U.S marines have mps and security guard
7:25 I’m in the Marine Corps and I’ve never been allowed to fire my M4 on burst let alone a MK18 on full auto lol. Great video! Also yeah in boot camp they had us take our masks off in the gas chamber and do burpees, doubt they do it much anymore.
HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE A MILLION SUBSCRIBERS BY NOW??????
Because I’m not that good bro lol
@@RyanForrest1664 Yes you are.
That's Alexandra Botez. She's a chess CZcamsr!
If you haven’t done special forces, like the SEALs or Green Berets, would you consider reacting to one of their training vids? …also, is the section you served in considered special forces in Britain? (Just wondering from something you said in another vid.) Anyway, if Marine training is hard, I know special forces is brutal. Love the Marines… Semper Fi…💛
gas at boot camp way worse then in the fleet. he was at a MOS school that woudl be post boot camp. i was lucky i had an extra week cause of a hurricane. seemed to be my style cause i also got an extra month at sea later in my 4 years
You didn’t listen man. 12 weeks of grunt training. Then 9 weeks of your specialized trading.
He would never survive grunt training in coming boot camp.
I am one of the lucky few roughly 2% to 8% of the population the gas has very little effect on. I went through the training first with the State of Texas when hair like his was allowed, I remember the screams from the guys when that water started to run through their hair. In the military, our hair was so short it wasn't nearly as funny.
if that dude think this is Bootcamp dudes seriously mistaken. This is a MOS training for MSG. MOS school alot more chill.........as long your not an 0311 xD
My dear youtube friend…..be careful of what you ask for, cause you might just get it!
12 weeks for marines in usa
Thumbs up buddy...
In basic training we had to take mask off in gas shed pass the mask round our body saying nrn then to put it back in the nco’s loved getting us with it ah the good old days ❤
I'm guessing it's for embassy protection.
It was 13 weeks when I went through in 1983
Embassy security type things maybe?
Where have the reacting to the Outdoor Boys videos gone? I went to watch one I missed and I can’t see any of them😢?! Xx
Do a Larry bird mixed tape
What kind of gas is it? Didnt catch that. Some kind of tear gas?
U.S. marine training is kinda longer than rm training if you think about it
It’s not mate, not even close. Rm basic training is 36 weeks, if you go to be a mountain leader you can add another 9-13 months on that. Also, 3 months of junior leadership before you even think about doing that course,
@@RyanForrest1664 I know, but after basic training you'll go to soi/ school of infantry. Which is like 9 weeks I think. Then you go on to your job which could be multiple months depending on the job. No hate at all, Ryan. Love your stuff man.
@@RyanForrest1664 I hope that you're not taking it the wrong way. I know U.S. Marine boot camp is shorter, we all know it. I'm just talking about the combined training that you do afterwards depending on the mos. Aviation is a year 1/2. Like I said, absolutely no hate. Keep up with the great videos, man.
But U.S marines are trying to downsize I think, for infantry that is. I have a lot of respect for rm. I'm just biased towards U.S Marines, because I live in America lol. Just depending on the job afterwards I suppose. God bless, bro.
👍
12 months
Are you from Ashington because you have the accent and if so do you support Newcastle United
Botez is a chess channel
the M.O.P.P gear they're wearing in gas chamber, we had to wear that the first 1 week of the Iraq invasion Because we thought we might get gas attacked. It absolutely sucked. When you took your gloves off water would pour out from sweat. And I had to drive a LVS wearing that shit. 😮
I think the marine at the beginning said this was embassy security training, each embassy has a small marine security force.
Embassy guard training in other word ,security force training
GET OFF THE BUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have gone through basic training or Boot camp you know what I just said.
US Marines take their masks off completely. They did this because they are youtubers.
This is not Bootcamp. This is the school to become a Marine Security Guard which is a "B" billet assignment just like a Drill instructor or Recruiter. This would typically take place after your first enlistment term and well after you've completed basic training, combat training and your primary job (MOS) training. I forgot to mention Marine Security Guard's protect all US Embassies.
Shot my first 30.06 at the age of 7, grew up hunting, stalking and photographing wildlife for recreational reasons. It does translate into a lifetime of experience of something most people don't consider because it's not black and white credentials. We grow up in different fields in different places. No need to diminish other people's skills because it's very likely that you can learn something and maybe share too.
I wonder if the gas chamber is run differently in USMC boot camp. I only went through US Navy boot camp, but even we had to take off our masks entirely in the chamber. Then we recited the Sailor's Creed (no mask), and afterward exit the chamber. We didn't wear any CBR gear, just our PT uniforms. If you had to puke, you did it in your shirt, or you had to clean the whole room.
