The f 15 has never been shot down in a dogfight and has a record of 104 - 0
Right, he says so easy to shoot down... :}
This is bad ass jet. The A-10. Is the best I have seen.
F35 is better@@mitchcorniel
The F 15 in actual combat has a 104 to zero record but in Red Flag Exercises it has been smoked numerous times. Especially by the F 22. And yes junior pilots are learning a lesson to not die in real life but the airframe is beatable. Especially against a F 35 or F22. And possibly J 20 and maybe a Su 57, but to a lesser degree.
With the latest war results in Ukraine. I've read it is 106 to 0. Either way. Most impressive war record of any jet.
One Israeli F15 had a in air accident where one of its entire wing was ripped off and it still landed. it amazingly was returned to ACTIVE service? Yes it was!
i saw a image of that plane it looked like it hit a wall i have no idea how that plane could still fly.
@@peter486 It survived by the shear raw power of the two P&WF100 after-burning turbofan engines producing 23,770 lbf each.
@@peter486 because the F-15 doesnt fly, it beats the atmosphere into submission
I crewed F-15s for my entire career in the USAF....wouldn't pick another air frame. This jet has been the MVP for decades and now they have devised a way to keep it valuable after 50 years. Long live the Eagle !
Yeah the only problem is who gets credit for the kill, the guy with the flashlight or the guy with the gun.
Thank you for your service 🫡🇺🇲
F35 still better. LOL
@helium5912 nope lol. They serve different purposes. You missed the whole point of this video. The EX will make the Lightning II be better there guy. I crewed F-35s as well and I can tell you your statement is extremely debatable. If it's still going in 50 years, looses a wing and flies home, goes 104-0 in air to air confrontations, then MAYBE I'll agree with you 😉
@jeraldehlert7903 obviously the pilot. Was that meant as an insult lol?
Ryan, the F-15E Strike Eagle also has two seats: one for the pilot and one for the weapons system officer. This allows the pilot to focus on flying the aircraft while the WSO handles weapons and electronic warfare. Prior to the Strike Eagle, two seat variants were trainer aircraft with an instructor in the back.
The F-15EX Eagle II preserves the two seat arrangement of pilot and WSO.
I checked the number on the vertical stabilizer and that is a F-15EX shown on the runway about to take off. ET = Eglin Test.
With a 104-0 kill to death ratio the F15 Eagle is the best of the best
F15C.
F15E is 1-2 losses.
F-15, than F-15 Strike Eagle is like 4th gen and Super F-15EX II is 4.5 gen the F-22 Raptor is 5th gen. The F-35 is also 5th gen but pure dog to dog fight the F-22 is hands down best fighter
The F15 is known to be the greatest fighter jet ever assembled in history.....granted if the F22 or F35 had the 50 years of service it would definitely compete but consider the year this jet was made and of course the cost. The plane carries the ADM 260 missile now which is capable of 180+ miles competing with the Chinese PL15 and the Russian counterpart as well which are well advanced in their own rights. The missile that goes 250 miles plus and even up to 1000 is called the LRASM ASM stands for anti-ship missile LR stands for Long Range. My brother, recently in 2023 the F35 is now capable of a nuclear strike on any enemy anywhere in the world.
⛪️🗽🔫🇺🇲🔫🗽⛪️
I think you may be a bit confused about how these war planes carry different weapon types, while they do have the capability of carrying multiple kinds of weapons at the same time, they will usually have different "strike packages", so they can tailor the plane for a particular mission! This way the plane can maximize what it needs for the current mission and leave behind munitions that are not needed at that time, this would also apply to nuclear weapons, they don't just carry them all the time!
These are hands down the best overall fighter jets in the world. Theyre flippin insane!
We are working on autonomous fighter jets. The program is called NGAD, short for Next Generation Air Dominance. The program umbrella is trying to field both manned and unmanned fighters with unmanned drones assigned to each.
As a Missourian we see these occasionally while testing
The F15 also has one of the best power to weight ratios
the best.
I like the way you do your videos. Informative, but not all dramatized, hyped unnecessarily and such. ✊
It’s a beast. I love that fighter jet.
I was a crew chief on the F-15 A's on the first deployment on the east coast, Langley AFB 1975 (or about).
It was a ground breaking aircraft and weapons system. It still rocks, I was and am still a fan!
The original F-15. F-15a was designed for air 2 air superiority. That variation had one pilot as newer variations of the F-15 were designed, and its capabilities expanded it then switched to having a pilot and weapons system officer. depending on the specific variation of the F-15 you are inquiring about, the answer would vary from 1 to 2
You have to remember they are going to be working in conjunction with raptors and F35 so they can find targets for the F15s
for what it does , and has done , its exceptional , in air to air tho the f22 if far superior , the air force was sold on the raptors capabilities when ONE raptor target locked and simulated shot down FIVE F15s , for a high end 4th gen plane tho it might as well be 5th gen now , were always upgrading and improving them, when you have something that works that well , you keep it , excellent plane
"I'm thinking that could be used to take out a forward position." Uncle Sam - I mean, it explodes doesn't it?
You kick the wheel and then smack the side. You also have to say “yeah, that ain’t going anywhere”.
It’s amazing to see them fly I’m lucky enough to live close to the airport in St. Louis were they build them and get to see them test the new ones before any military ever see them
Bro, it's a nuclear triad. We definitely have nukes in the air available on various platforms depending on the payload we want. Land, air, and sea. That, is the real deterrence and that is what makes it so hard to knock them ALL out. Thanks for the vid bro. Always cool seeing what you have to say. Stay blessed.
Never forget the AWACS can pinpoint and show the pilot exactly what is over 300 miles ahead of them.
F15 once got its wing knock off and made it back and landed never been shot down. it is a rocket with it weight and drag can fly with one wing its insane. There are videos of the f15 landing with one wing on the internet.
I loved your reaction to him kicking the wheel 11:43 lol. Its a must do!
The e version had 2 seats. The WSO or “Wizzo” (weapons system officer) and pilot.
No mate, the US deterrent policy is a nuclear Triad. Land/Sea/Air. We have had and still use the B-61 Gravity bomb which is Nuclear and Dial a yield. Whilst it would most likely be deployed upon a B-2 Spirt or B-1 Lancer, it is also capable of being put on an F-15 and a few other Fighter/Bombers should the need arise.
Awesome comment!!! I was specifically looking thru comments to see if anyone was going to mention this!
Thanks bro! Cheers
The F15 is cheaper to operate an will last longer with the stronger airframe. They would get alot more use after air space is under control.
The F-15 E and EX are both capable of launching the Tomahawk series of cruise missiles, one of which has a nuclear warhead and they can carry 2 different types of nuclear gravity bombs. The Tomahawk cruise missiles have a range of 1,500 miles and can hit a target smaller than 3 square meters at that range.
2 best airframes in the air force and i worked on both. The F15E and the A10A and C
I wonder if they've improved the seats. My dad was high rank air force. I got to sit in several fighters. I remember them being less comfortable than sitting in a wheelbarrow.
Two pilot system: WIZZO (Weapon System Operator) or a RIO (Radar Intercept Officer) and then the main pilot. F14 Tomcat had 2 pilots but many today have just a single pilot configuration
The man in the back is known as a Weapons Officer, he's the one that drops bombs and also does navigation, surveillance as they have a little camera with IFD, white hot and night vision. He's the in cockpit wingman.
F-15’s combat record is an unbelievable 104-0! UNDEFEATED
My favorite bird. Multi role aircraft.
dude love your stuff do more extreme survival videos
We grunts all think alike! I'm laughing and agreeing with your amazement! 😁
love that bird ;)
One pilot , and a backseat weapons operator ! One flies the aircraft, the other dispatches targets ! The pilot keeps you alive the weapons officer kills targets ! Pilots only kill targets at close range with guns ! Hence our undefeated record ! Our warriors dont rest on their laurels , they train for the next fight ! Our practice is bloddless battle and our battles bloody practice ! We take war seriously , war is something to not be waged lightly . We value the lives of our warriors !
Loved working on F-15's at Seymour Johnson. Absolutely amazing crew and techs behind them.
F15 Ex. Wondered why America buried the F15 and F22 programs in “cost overruns” problems! Here’s to US - UK Brothers🎉 together always!
Tactical nukes. They are much smaller yield than what is referred to as strategic nukes as carried by larger bombers and ICBM's.
Yes the F15EXII can carry upto 3 nuclear tipped cruise missiles if we were pissed-off enough to decide to do so, but it's definitely not SOP for those aircraft.
Tge F15 as well as F16 and now F35 do indeed have nuclear capability. B61 if i remember correctly.
Ryan, F-22 is the top fighter. People can argue, but 22 is the real deal.
The back seater is called a weapons systems operator, WSO. The WSO is like a bombardier, and their job is to pick targets. In single seat aircraft, the waypoints are set according to a flight plan, and smart bombs coordinates are pre-programmed before takeoff. A two-seater fighter/ bomber can perform hunter-killer missions and pick and choose their own targets. The radar in a Strike Eagle is more capable and provides higher level of detail than that of single seat fighters. The back seater has flight controls, but the WSO's job is to operate systems, not fly the plane
Yo Ryan…I believe the nuclear ordinance the F-15 is capable of delivering to the battle field is of the low-yield tactical variety, probably not much more than 10-30kT…most certainly not the kind capable of decimating a city! Those are too big and heavy for a fighter jet to carry, hence the ICBM/Submarine/Strategic Bomber triad. Great video, as always...
They left out some stuff... Number 1....as in the F15 is the most successful fighter in the world.... 104 kill vs Zero losses.
The old versions with the slightly smaller engines was the fastest fighter in the US, made to go up against the Soviet Foxbat which was faster, but that was it. The new GE f110 turbo fan after burning engines are like adding a third of its older engines, it can fly at Mach 2.5. but it can also carry 30,000 pounds of bombs (the new stealth bomber the B-21 Raider can carry 31,000). Including the US's new hypersonic cruise missles x2 and yes it can carry nukes--but so can the F35.
The F15 EX can maneuver as if it has thrust vectoring nozzles- it doesn't- the only aircraft that can without the fancy tail feathers.
Until the Block 4 upgrades are done the F35, the F15 EX will have the most powerful computer in the world of planes, the most powerful variable scanned radar, and will be by a factor of x2 most powerfully armed fighter in the world ever. And it remains it 20mm gatling cannon
But even with 104 to Zero record (the best fighter of all time) it doesn't really stand a chance against the F22 Raptor.... But that has been the Raptors problem since it was created.... 0 vs 0 (unless you count the Chinese balloon it shot down) because it is Peerless ... There are plenty of stories of F22 -- totally able to shoot someone down -- instead flying right into their formations from behind above or below -- completely unnoticed, and then the piolet coming alongside and simply saying "Go Home." They did it several times to Iranian F104's, and there is a video of one doing that to a pair of Russian Su-35's
And one last thing.... The NGAD (check that out if you don't know) six gen fighter being developed will all have 5 stealth autonomous drone wingman each. Acting as missle trucks, targets protecting the human, radar and comm links. The US Aif Force, DARPA, and NASA are flying autonomous F-16's... But as it turns out, it's very hard to teach a machine how to dogfight, discriminate ground targets, and survive in a combat environment
Idk about M.A.D/deterrence .but they definitely can small yield nuclear weapons.
F-15EX Eagle II is one amazing aircraft. wish UK has some of these to compliment our typhoons. and you will find that a few of the US aircrafts can fire tactical nukes. even the F35A.
The F-15 is the end stop of 4th gen fighters. Everything since then has been about how to defeat enemy radar. The F-22 is a good example of this. The F-35 isnt as stealthy, but it can carry out a far more broad range of missions. The unpublished planes that Lockheed and Boeing are testing and their drones are proper 6th gen aircraft
@RyanForrest Just so you know this aircraft isnt meant to be front line. The F22 and F35s are full stealth platforms that will operate as Forward Observers for the 15. The 15 is just a tow behind rocket launcher lol.
Basically what I believe they were trying to say is it has the capability of carrying a nuclear tipped missile they don't on a regular basis but they are capable of doing it but also on that topic our planes don't get shot down we own the air
And oh we have considered and are considering going drone for these roles. At least partially, some want drones, some want manned, others want mix, others still want whatever works .i fall into the last two, manned, but fixed mix is fine first. And works second. Or the order the mother way around. As presumably.ost times we won’t pick the right mix. The first time. For any given situation
Nice star-spangled banner. William s
F15 has the best radar and tracking systems they are a decent dogfight plane only becuse of there thrust to weight ratio
AF - Where the enlisted send the officers out to fight.
The F-15E (As well as the F-35 now) does INDEED have the option of firing the B61, a fighter capable nuclear bomb. This, of course, is not a STANDARD thing they would all be carrying at any given time though.
F22 raptor is the most dreaded fighter jet out next to the warthog it terrifies all who's on the ground
The U.S. has several aircraft capable of carrying and deploying nuclear weapons including some fighters, not just bombers.
Best air superiority fighter in the world currently would be the F-22 Raptor. Nothing can compete with it it's hands down the most advanced fighter jet the world has ever seen
You want to do a video on an amazing airplane check out the B-1 bomber
Not to mention they don’t fly alone they could be f22 protecting it
we DO have nuclear capable planes , more than one type ;)
Tha plane is frkn Awesome
🦅🗽🔫🇺🇲🔫🗽🦅
At 7:17 that's a Navy F-18.
In missile truck configuration they probably would be following f35s or f22s
honestly the most badass part of the f15 is why its so bad ass is because it has a 1.17 thrust to 1 lb ratio meaning..it produces more thrust than it weighs making it techinally more of a rocket with wings than a true jet. As it doesnt need lift its why that one in israeli could fly with a ripped off wing. And allegedly these new engings are way more powerfull. with a thrust of around 1.475 to 1 lb or .45kg. Maybe be more may not? you never know with what the us military tells. Alot of stuff is like 'unclassified' info meaning..could be true could be a lie on the ex's thrust.
yes there are planes that have beaten the thrust to weight ratio of the f 15 strike eagle but most those came way later.
1 pilot 1 Rio rear intercept officer if I'm not mistaken
yeah weapons systems opperator that opperates most weapons while the pilot opperates the gun. not to sure tho so dont torch me
Radar
Radae Intercept Officer, same as the F-14
Your 100 percent right I was going to say until I seen ur comment
Actually the WSO in USAF not RIO that is Navy lingo
F-35 and F-16 can carry Nukes also.😮
Am liking the new studio! Hat's off to you, really enjoy your vid's.
@RyanForrest1664 It is nuclear capable and can carry the new B61-12
if you saw the fat electrtions video on the F15 its the only plane to do the following
shoot down a sattilite in space
get an air to air kill with a bomb
it had a mid air colision losing a wing and still able to fly back to its base and land safely
the only plane to have 104 air to air kills and never be shot down 104 to 0
Back seater RIO Radio Intercept Officer The pilot flies the plane the RIO handles the weapons and the monitoring systems
One pilot I RIO(Radio Intercept Officer)
That is the Navy name for the backseater the USAF is the WSO Weapons Systems Officer
lmao @11:50 ... MERICA !!
It doesn’t sound like you’re gonna get close enough to get in a close contact thing
Nuclear capable means able to carry nuclear weapons. Doesn't mean they will always have them.
Part of the US nuclear triad is dropping nukes from planes i.e. bombers and some multi-role fighters like the F-35, F-15, and F-18.
The F15 has 100+ to 0 kill rate in air to air. The F15 C in nuclear cap.
Big Badda Boom 💥
The F-15 has never faced an air craft or air defence in the same category either really old 2 gen air crafts or outdated air defence weapons or the classic bomb farmers for 20 years
Yep, Nukes are a thing on planes. launch a 10kton 200 miles no problem. Grim Reapers are a good channel for mil sim even got a Death Star vs the US etc :P
But if they have Raptors or Fighters near him 90% of the times they'd be flying way higher to protect them it won't just be them going in
I worked on 001 and 002 at Eglin AFB....quite the airplane and modernized for the new age! Not to mention that it is very quick to learn if you currently work on the F-15 C or E models.
F35 is there to sneak in and do the job quiet.
F15 is there to smash anything, everything, and you will know it as it all happens.
Them F15s are flying tanks
Ryan go check out our f22 raptors and trust verctor tech. Then look up what’s available on our new 6th gen program.
Kicking the wheel is the equivalent of clicking the tongs while grilling!!!
Hell yeah! I'm always clicking my tongs lol. Honorable mention goes to saying "that ain;t going anywhere" after you tie down a load on a truck/trailer.
F-15 still my favorite jet fighter. Just love the configurations it has the capability of.
Can someone tell me if those are comformal fuel tanks on the sides of the intakes @ 11:25 ? I just never remember it being so beefy. Just seems absent in later. Prob just angle. I'm also an idiot so lol.
No, the conformal fuel tanks were not on the original F 15, the F 15 EX does have the conformal fuel tank configuration as does the latest F 16 Viper. The foreign sales especially like them.
@@nasabielas Thanks! I was wondering because they were showing shots and I thought wait.. lol so I didn't know.
Glad I asked and glad you answered :D Also amazing you noticed my autocorrect of conformal to compounding (??) I searched that up and I have no idea what that is.
@@Timmycoo Conformal tanks basically are more aerodynamic hugging the fuselage versus hanging on to the wing, providing a lot of drag.
@@nasabielas Yeah I know what they are and you described exactly what I typed (even checked wiki to make sure) so I laughed when I saw what I wrote.
@@Timmycoo I just wrote that off the top of my head. Maybe Wiki is copying me.
It has stealth missles??
50 years of service around the world, 104 to 0 kill ratio and all of its capabilities including shooting down an actual satellite travel 17,000 mph. That's why it's feared.
Yes
F15C you mean.
The F15E has 1 kill 2 losses.
Yes, the F-15 EX can carry 22 air-to-air missiles or 5 JASSM cruise missiles. It is a payload dump truck.
Still not got rearward facing missiles though ;)
@@PiezPiedPy Doesn't need to. The AIM 9X can target aircraft behind it.
@@nasabielas aim9x cannot target aircraft behind it, that is a daft statement. It has a 90 degree boresight how is that even possible.
The F35 DAS system can target something behind it and cue a missile in that direction in a brochure World, also an aircraft can shoot at a data link target that is behind them. But forward looking missiles don't look behind them.
F22 didn't replace f15.
Not really, the next generation will and pilots will be entirely optional.
No the F 22 is still the best as a 5th gen, the F 15 EX is like 4.5 gen. And the F 22 would, in most cases, smoke the F 15 EX due to supermanueavability in close in battle and long range due to stealth.
And nope all of our major fighters and bombers have nuclear capabilities and have since the 1970’s or so. Earlier versions of each type hand, bombs or rockets that were nuclear capable. I believe the F-15 and F-16 were among the first that could carry nuclear bombs. Missiles and rockets for fighters. Bombers could only carry bombs. And cruise missiles. But modernized fighters like the F-15 could carry nuclear armed cruise missiles and the decade or so older nuclear rocket. Same as the F-104 and 105 and oh. The US and the Soviets have lost so many nukes. Should scare everyone. Haha. A lot of them have never been found either…
Plowing the road, as you suggest at the 6:30 mark, is what we built stealth for.
Stealth knocks out the enemy air defense and then the Eagles take over.
It is capable of carrying a nuke but won't always have them on board.
I'd say a 104 to 0 kill ratio makes the F-15 one bad ass fighter!!!!
Yes the F-15 can carry tactical nuclear strike bombs.
Love when one of your videos comes across my screen!! doing great reaction to these military videos you find.. I think you and The Office Blokes should do either live/ or recorder chat time on something! they love the military videos as well! And you can teach them some things, they are in awe of the firepower, but they have questions like most of us do. I am sure they have a "tank" drone version in the works, but since you do not need any part of a human inside, they do not need the whole canopy and any other areas for life support, so it would not be the same plane at all.. just same idea of being the "tank" of missiles. And I am pretty sure the original F-15 was the plane in the original Top Gun movie?
I don't know if you're a fan of 'Transformers' but the US has one F-15 named 'Starscream'. It has full Decepticon logos. It's so cool. lol
