    With our stock tire kit you would gain better throttle response/backshift and belt grip that would help you if you were really loading it down with weight.

    It is not all ways neccesary to change the weights when you change the primary spring as long as you are getting the right peak rpm for the motor. If that changes you either need to change to a different rate of spring or different weight to compensate for the other change.

    Some people would llike a little better performance than what the stock provides. The manufacture has to tune the clutches to fit the masses. If you change tire size to a larger size you will notice a big decrease in performance thats where our kits work the best. As for the rear end noise im unsure as to what you are hearing.

    Well the only option for that is putting a whole new secondary on the machine. For 2014 the ranger has an option for EBS or not so I would check with your local dealer and see if Polaris is offering it for the 2013 model as a option maby.

    good tutorial. what is the purpose of changing the stock clutch springs? I'm new to the UTV's and bought the ranger xp 900 recently. I' reading everything i can on these machines. Having a little trouble with the rear diff. or trans making a bad noise at cruising speeds. Would you know anything about what that could be? Thanks

    I have 2011 XP Ranger - if I do a secondary driven spring replacement my self - should I separate the sheaves and grease up the helix or shaft or something like that? My secondary is making god awful squeaking noises at idle AND high RPM. It has a new belt, the sheaves are clean. Why is it squeaking?

    guys i would like to know a little about the clutch .. my ranger 900 started making growl and sequel noises .. i took the cover of and then the belt .. and i never had to spread the secondary clutch to take belt off .. i put belt back on but it is so lose it just jumps around .. would the secondary clutch be dirty or needs a shim or a new belt ... the belt dose not come to the top of secondary .

      If you can easily take the belt on and off then the belt is either worn to much (either stretched to long and/or worn to skinny). The secondary clutch can also be worn and/or dirty and not fully closing all the way. I would go through and clean your clutches really good, look for worn rollers and bushings and put it back together. If still is bad you will probably need a belt.

      If your looking for a complete motor you might be able to find some online from some the shops that are parting machines. Polaris will sell you one but they are typically expensive.

    Is there anything else I could use to pull the clutch instead of a 60 dollar tool I'll use one time?

    • @EPIperformance
      @EPIperformance  Před 7 lety

      unfortunately the puller is the best option to keep you from damaging the 500-600 dollar clutch. The good thing is that all the 900 and 1000 Polaris use that same puller. If you use a two or three jaw puller there is a good chance you will damage the clutch. And steering wheel and hub pullers don't work.

      Change the components of the primary clutch without removing it.
