  • In this Episode we hang out with SoundTools founder Dave Rat for an inside look at what they have been up to since we talked at last year's show. It is always fun spending time with the SoundTools crew and this year at The 2020 NAMM show was no different. Anyone who made it out to the show knows how much of an attraction their booth is each day from show open to close. I can't thank the whole crew enough for coming in early and helping me shoot this video. The energy and enthusiasm for their work and how much of that goes into each product sent out the door is genuine and impressive for a company of any size.

You can see the pride from start to finish it’s hard to stay focused but it’s worth it. When I did the data cable and comms for my home. I did not have to spend 100 on a cable comb and I only have about 40 feeds of cat7 but it’s combed and even Customised the framework with the brush panel so if you ever need to replace or add more you just drop the cable and a custom chute will automatically take care of the rest took me an extra two days to engineer and only those in the biz can appreciate the magic BUT wow it’s awesome. As for packaging you bang on that’s why I really enjoy the engineering that went into mophie cases it’s not just one of the best phone case power soloutions but right down to the perfection of the packaging. It still give me goose bumps like unpacking my first technics 1200 and we even built an extra storage facility because I can’t bare to throw the boxes out ha ha ha. Hope to get some rat gear soon when there is a magic box that ticks our needs otherwise I’ll just say Dave. Send me a red empty box and sign it. The guy is a God in sound reinforcement!

As a instrument technician in the Petrochemical Industry for 40 years I've seen some crap that looks like it's been designed with no thought and put together by monkeys. What a breath of fresh air to see a company manufacturing a premium product to solve common issues in the audio industry. I love the attention to detail and the building in of the maintenance capabilities right from the start. The maintainability of a system/device is key to it's lifespan and hence value for money. Love what your doing!
