Great Video! As soon as you showed the 304 misfire and the 174 lean I knew right away it was fuel issue/ injector. But, I only know this because of people like you who make these videos for us DIY guys. Thanks for all you do!

Well dang, my guess at the start of the video was a vacuum leak. With as much miles on her you wouldn't think chewed up wires. Once again thank you for taking us through your process. For those whom would have done it differently and think he doesn't help people, well start your own CZcams.

Thank you so much for sharing this video.. I have a 2000 toyota avalon... my check engine light started flashing, and my car was periodically struggling to accelerate... I took it to advanced auto parts and was told I had a misfire.
I would have bet the house it was the coils or spark plugs..
I took it to my mechanic, and he says it's not the coils or spark plugs... he said he was getting a 1,3 code or something like that, so he changed my timing belt, water pump, and oil rings.. and replaced the VVT actuator as my car was idle high after the timing job...
Man, the engine light is still blinking. The car has been in the shop for 3 weeks... now I'm scared... I've started looking for other cars🥺🤷🏿♀️.. don't know what else to do..

Wei Su No! it was actually number 4 wire that got chewed up completely
I put dryer sheets kinda balled up arround the engine compartment..ever so often 2-4 works pretty good..or them smelly moth balls...thanks much

You're a good mechanic. I wouldn't give a thumbs down because it doesn't deserve it but just a suggestion: Think brevity.
There's no need to show 3 or 4 attempts at clear flood mode. Just state this vehicle doesn't have such a feature. Likewise, no need to show the clicks to get to firing order cylinder layout. Just cut to picture and say cylinder 4 is middle front. The time saved is time where you can connect a push button starter bypass if you wanted to hear crank cadence or actually showing wire repair which is probably of more value to your viewers IMO.

Ismael Schettino it depends! if you use OEM spark plugs pretty much between 50k & 60k miles

My 2006 Avalon shows Steady Engine Light. It's steady and it's not flashing.

Easy repair I noticed the engine idle above 1000 RPM doesn't it running too high. I think I should be idle at or aroud 620-up RPM Im right?...🤔🤔
svhebert Yes! but idle on these vehicles starts a little high then drops down in seconds which is normal!
that's normal, the 2ar 2.5 when you first start it up idles almost at 2000 rpm
