downsouth-expeditions.creator... We overland the famous and technical Hurricane Creek in the hopes to reach Max Patch lookout. Pisgah National Forest is an amazing place and is truly breath taking. The 2019 Ford Ranger did great throughout the trail and its narrowness helped tremendously.
With light rain we manage to catch up unknowingly to two awesome outdoor enthusiast and avid off roaders, Ethan and Colby.
The rain created some extra difficulty on Hurricane creek but non the less we made it out and found an amazing campsite right off of our initial route.
If you or someone you know has a Ford Ranger make sure to share this video with them so they can experience this awesome trail for themselves.
Here is our own GAIA gpx route, however it does exclude the detour we had to take in part 2 that will be airing later.

Love that Raptor grill!
Great job Dude! Cool video! you had me cracking up!
Awesome video with great vehicles
Great one
I'm glad to see the small channels give me some links to your buddies and I will give them a subscription
I sure like your Ranger! From, Oklahoma
Great video love my ranger
Love your truck!
Those Tacomas were super nice
Great video👍👍👍👍
Good job
Awesome video i have the same truck with a 6" life i love it
What a cool version of Billy Squire's song, AC/DC at the end to. Nice ranger. I had a 85 and a 91, awesome trucks.
I love squires music. such a classic artist. Thanks for the comment!!
Nice ride on a rainy day.
Love the video! Thanks👍
I like your enthusiasm!
Off-roading alone is how I usually roll and it makes me careful. Glad to see y’all rolling the trails.
Nice job handling the sloppy conditions @5:54 That Ranger is a cool little trail rig!
great video!! stoked to see another Ranger out there handling business!
Enjoying the videos. Recent subscriber and trying to get caught up.
Should have used you rear differential lock at around 6 minutes in on the video. That locking diff can be a god send for you and push the Ranger forward in most cases. Just an observation here...
Can't wait to go with my buddy in a couple months
Good Job!!! Truck looks great!! Thanks for posting.
Another great video brother.
Thanks for sharing this video. Watching videos like this one helps me plan my Trips up from Florida.
Great video and I like the truck.
Sweet truck! Like the trail riding.
Excellent Ranger video! There aren't too many out there!
Exciting video. Your Ranger is awesome 😎 I like the tent rig that guy had on his Tacoma.
I'm glad no damage happened to your truck.
So glad to have some decent Ranger videos. Keep up the good content bro 👌🏼
Hope to turn that decent into great!😂😂 thanks I appreciate it
Like the setup on the truck it looks good
Loving the truck! Getting my Fx4 ranger soon gotta take it out to some places like this to have fun. Keep up the good videos
Dude! My cousins live out there in Hurricane Creek! I have a 2019 Ranger XLT FX4 with all the fixins and I got it stuck out there in the mud hole the week I bought the truck lol. It's awesome to see someone with a similar vehicle to mine visiting one of my local trails. Great content man
Good job truck coming along nicely 👍🏾
Thankyou !!
Good video
Nice content !
Good Job!
Great video great job!!!!
Good stuff! Excited to take mine out after a leveling kit and some Toyo MT's.
Looks good bud. Have fun
Good job bud. You look like you’re having fun.
I have this truck just white and my plan is to do essentially what you’ve done here. Love to see this content 👌🏼
awesome! Plenty of action coming this year!
For your future upgrades, add locker front and rear to your rig, and if you plan to do more make sure you add a winch. Video content was excellent, and enjoyed your views of Hurricane Creek. Keep the shiny side up and all four in the dirt. New sub.
Thanks for your comment! I hope to add a front locker in the future. More content to come now that my wrestling season is finished up!
#Thefriendlytravelers828 🤙🏻 great video & great meeting you guys. Don’t forget to look into Asheville vehicle Outfitters trail ride series!! Trail ride 7 coming up in a few weeks!
Thank you! Will do!
Arb makes an air locker for the ranger front. Wished they would put a torsion front axle on the tremor ranger.
Having fun!! Enjoy young man.
Damn, Coby blue Tacoma is bad ass! Great video!
Oh yeah its sick
Dude, your hilarious. I love the videos. Keep them coming.
Great video, keep it up! 👍
Should do a walk around of your rig. Explain some of your choices. I know a big one people would wonder is why go with what looks like a taller wheel?
Absolutely!! I’ll make that and have it uploaded some time this week. Thanks for your veiw and comment!
Appreciate your links. Great video.
Nice work, I have a 21 Lariat 3” front 1” rear 31” ko2s and straight piped. They rock on the trails and deadly in the snow. Done some good crawling but still pucker up dragging $55k up a hill like that.
Great video
Great content.
Thanks!
Great content brother! 👍
Glad you liked it!
keep in mind that 20psi and above is still relatively safe pressures for on road driving, at 15-18 psi, you'll still be pretty safe offroad, as well as allow yourself a significant increase to your tire footprint over pressures at 25+ and above.
Good job man. Just found your channel and sub’d. 👍
thanks homie!!
Thanks for showing the full trail. I know there are some talks in off-road groups on facebook to gather a few volunteers and spend a day or two leveling out those ruts, so more average rigs can get up and enjoy the trail. I know a couple years ago Subarus were able to do Hurricane Creek, but not so sure about them being able to do it nowadays.
that would be awesome!! I do believe the trail in some of those rough sections could use some work.
Sick lookin ranger, is their any after market air lockers you can get for the front?😊
Great vid brother.
I like your over landing equipment tho.
👍
Reccomendation: Use your windshield wipers when filming from the inside so the camera soesnt focus on the rain drops and we can see outside the truck.
You can go way lower than 24psi dude. Some people let their tires get to 10psi before adding air normally.
Nice i just made a video heading up to max patch and i stopped and checked out that campsite
It’s a great one!
It nice to see other Rangers doing the dirty but if you had beast ATs your truck would had handled the easy.
You need to go to Ouray Co and to Moab Ut
What’s the width on wheels and what tire size are you running? Are you running spacers too or just wider wheels/tires?
When you’re over rev trying to climb out of the mud,,,how the differential and transmission? Does it feel like it’s overworked and smoking?
Great video man and thanks! I have a 2020 Ranger and love it. I installed the 2" front lift to level it out and just installed 285 R70 17's on the bottom. All 2019 Ford Ranger models and up come with a rear locking differntial in the 4x4 package and so if you had 'locked' the rear diff, you would have craweld up that hill no problem (at about time stamp six minutes). If you have a 'rear locker' or a 'front locker' you should always use it in this situation, It is much better on the vehicle itself.
Im running a 2020 XLT 4x4 with the Rough Country 3.5" lift and level. What lift kit are you running with yours? Also running 33" Tires, getting ready to upgrade to a 35, but i had to cut my front crash bars both before and behind the front tires to make them fit. Any fitment issues with your truck?
Did you have any problems after that small water crossing at 3:45? I've heard alternators being so low are an issue but haven't heard of any actual problems yet. Nice video!
Light bar and fog lights on in the middle of the day?
Good job. You need lockers.
I have a locker in the rear just forgot to use it for most of this trail.
Do you have the rear lockers on?
Whats up man
Just wondering. What size wheels and offset u running? And tires? Thanks.
I just purchased a 2020 Ranger XLT but unfortunately only able to afford the 4x2..lol but this was a great video....no 4x4ing for me!! I do a lot of towing boats though...
Heck yeah! You’ll love your ranger!
@@downsouthexpeditions2956 So far I am already loving it...got a great deal on it as it was a loaner truck from Brandon Ford in Tampa area....so I got a couple thousands off...I am looking to find a place to maybe at least add aftermarket locking rear diff!
@@slyfox720 a rear locker for a 2wd would be awesome. Never know when that could come in handy.
what lift do you have on that?
get a locker for the rear and you can skip the 35's
Id love to see a auto locker for the front of the 19 and newer rangers
6:14 Gotta lock that rear diff! Makes a huge difference, sweet setup man. What front bumper is that?
No rear locker? If not, definitely a good upgrade for those slick rocks. That's the biggest issue I had with our rig in the Arkansas mountains.
Yes I do have rear lockers. Sometimes I just forget to engage them 😂
First thing I noticed... I made sure my fx4 had that in it before anything else .. nice truck , I got the same tires , 285/75/16. They are not my wife’s swamper SSR’S in the mud , but I do like better then my nitto trail grapplers I had previously on the f150 ..
I'm in Australia and I have the Wildtrak... I have a 6 inch lift on 35's and have front and rear lockers.. my Ranger is unstoppable...I also have a modified 3.2 ltr diesel engine with the 6 speed... much better engine choice...
@@ROC805 that’s is awesome. We are limited over here in the US but we take what we can get lol.
@@ROC805 I've seen lots of aussies actually prefer the US 2.3 over the diesel because of the power
So this is what really happens when Toyota guys see Ford guys, unlike the world war in forums lol.
Yes!! I had a single cab Tacoma not long ago and was in the Facebook group.... good lord they are ruthless behind the keyboards lol. These guys are top notch and a pleasure to meet and wheel with.
Awesome truck, what kinda of tires, size and wheels are you packing?
33x12.50 Yokohama G003 and fuel rebel 18x9 -12
What’s your front bumper called? Thanks brother
Will a Silverado trail boss make it on that trail? Full size truck. How much ground clearance do you have?
get a spare tire and compressor and run at 15 psi! it makes a world of difference
After the rock sliders come in I think that has to be my next bug mod.
Oh those gas prices, could use them right about now haha
👏👏👏✌️👍👊🇧🇷
Wonder if an F150 Raptor would fit and clear without scraping up the side in the deeply rutted section at the 8:00 mark
What size tires do you have?
33x12.50 r18
Nice work, do you have the terrain management system?
On the XLT it does not come with the different modes. However the lariat does have sand mud snow etc.
Thanks, wasn't sure if the XLT came with it as i have a 2020 Lariant. I've seen people on the Ranger forum I'm on add it.
@@downsouthexpeditions2956 I have an XLT with the terrain management. It's standard with the 302A trim package.
My XLT has the TM .. dead center of the 4wd knob.
I think your tires would of saved your side if you slid into the wall. Since they stick out a bit
I was hoping that would be the case but I was so nervous lol.
Great video but man you need lockers on your truck front and rear
It's mind blowing to me to see guys spending tens of thousands on upgrades on gear for 40-60k trucks, but won't spend $1500 for a proper diff lock.
And they could have bought it with factory locker too lol
Hey I left my comment lol
Good looking ranger. I am regretting having bought a new 2023 Tacoma trd offroad model truck. It is nice but I am a big guy at 6'1" andcweigjing 330 lbs. I do not like how I set so low in the drivers seat. I traveled down to Townsend last Saturday. That was not a comfortable ride. Paid 32.5 grand down on it so I am going to be able to trade it in on a ranger lariat with tremor suspension package on it. Since I work for estes express lines I can buy Ford trucks for just a 300.00 markup over the dealer true invoice price that they paid for the vehicle I buy.
I am tempted to buy a new ranger raptor as i tuen.59 in October. So in spring when I turn 59.5 I can take money out of my 401k savings account to just pay off the loan. So I di not mind buying a mid 50's ranger raptor as it will already come fully customized with 33" tires and both front and rear locking differentials.
Cool shots from the drone. You coukd use that thing to find dogmen and bigfoots hiding out in them ridgelines.
My buddy Matthew Delph runs mountain empire cryptid research organization out of Lee county, va
ford fucking ranger!!!
more
do you know if the gates ever close
we never encountered any gates on our route
@@downsouthexpeditions2956 ah. I thought there was one right when you get off I40. Anyways hoping to take my Jeep there soon.
@@noahmasier6350 let me know how it goes!!
Woah!!! That tacoma set up is NICE
