    Sanqua's painting dialogue will be triggered after you beat the game. Also, her painting likely ended up in the church in Hearthome City. Inside that church, there's a painting that resembles the space-time rift, while outside the Church there's something that resembles more about Arceus than other deities in the game.

    • @theginkgo
      @theginkgo Před 2 lety +20

      This makes sense considering that the church doesn't have an official name, but is simply called "Foreign Building". Another one of Sanqua's dialogues talks about how the Construction Corps is preparing to build new villages elsewhere in Hisui, and the map description of the building describes it as a "place where different cultures meet", which is basically what Jubilife Village and the game in general are all about.

    The Magikarp and Gyarados reference is also seen in Obsidian Feildlands. Remember the flying Gyarados that appear there? That's right on top of the waterfall and down the waterfall, there's a bunch of Magikarps. This Chinese reference also states that dragons can fly, that is the reason the Gyarodos over there is flying in the air.

    So, for Sanqua's painting of the space-time rift, i didn't even think of the opening picture from the news broadcast. • @hhjan594
      @hhjan594 Před 2 lety +15

      That totally lines up with its origin. The origin of this pokemon is a kind of fungus used in Chinese medicine. This fungus basically is an insect parasite that will grow on the bug and eventually kill it. The reason the bug part of Parasect's eyes is empty is that the bug is practically dead, only being controlled by the mushroom on its back.
      Yes, this gen one pokemon is basically a zombie, and it was intentionally designed this way from the very start. The name "Parasect" actually comes from parasite and insect.

      @Kahadi Před 2 lety +5

      Dead? In a sense, yes. Decayed? You'd have to be pretty stupid to mistake a decaying creature that normally has a fungus on it for a normal one without the fungus. It says they lie unmoving, suggesting the fungus is what controls it entirely. I'm thinking these specimens would more be ones where someone cut off the mushroom, or perhaps a predator ate it off, or something more along those lines.
      Interestingly it also mentions in Paras' dex entry that they are born without the fungus and it comes in and grows as it matures.

    • @Kahadi
      @Kahadi Před 2 lety +3

      @@Jayghopkins the fact that they "lie unmoving" to me feels like a very, very bad idea for a Pokemon. They're probably meant to be specimens that lost their mushrooms and died.
      The Paras entry, however, states they are born without the fungus. That might be a hint at a regional variant, with a regional variant of Paras evolving into something new, not a regional variant of Parasect that discarded the mushroom and stopped moving...

    • @Cosmic-Comet
      @Cosmic-Comet Před 2 lety +1

    I’m not sure if anyone’s mentioned this Easter egg but I felt this one was an amazing one.
    If you head into the Photo booth studio and prepare yourself to shoot a photo with your facial expressions and poses. There is a pose called the “Hero pose.” When you select it, your character stands EXACTLY as the Team Galactic grunts in the modern Sinnoh games stand when they challenge you to a battle.
    Given how much the hero of old impacted the people of Hisui/Sinnoh it’s interesting that Team Galactic adopts the pose of the hero, almost as if they believe their cause is righteous. This also makes a lot of sense because upon talking to Saturn after Cyrus’s defeat at Galactic HQ, he mentions that him along with many members of Galactic never knew what Cyrus was truly planning or they believed their goal was truly for a good cause only to find out it was a cover for Cyrus’ true goal.
    This little Easter egg stands as one of my favorites just for the implications and it baffles me how not many have noticed it.

    I think he might be mistaken about there being some other form of Parasect. The dex only says specimens without mushrooms just lie there without moving. It doesn't say that they move less, it implies that they don't move AT ALL, apparently even when some random humans roll up on them, if the mushroom isn't there to control them. It also doesn't specify that they were naturally born without the mushroom. I think what Laventon is saying in this entry is that, based on everything he's seen and heard, Parasect that somehow lose their mushroom just end up as lifeless husks, either being in a vegetative state or outright dying. After all, we already know that when Paras evolves, that's actually the fungus taking over its body and robbing it of whatever was left of its free will by that point, cordyceps-style, so what else would happen when you remove what has effectively become the pokemon's brain?

    I'm pretty positive I know what the painting is, and it's not the shot from the start of BDSP. In the church in Jubilife City in both DPPt and BDSP, there's a giant mural depicting Mt. Id like to kinda argue your point on the parasect, as it pretty much proves everything we know. It says that those found without a mushroom are unmoving. Not that they don't move much, but that they do not move at all. Meaning that the mushroom once gone, either eaten by something or plucked (since we know that it can be harvested by the mushroom related quests) the Pokemon is basically a husk at that point. Unable to move because they are a living organism without a brain. It doesn't really change anything, it just means that the mushroom can be removed, but ultimately there are no parasect that can do any actual surviving or moving without the mushroom. Meaning that they don't exist without it's evolutionary trait of taking over the host.

    this may be kind of a reach but i'd guess that Tao Hua is meant to be Master Mustard from the isle of armor dlc's ancestor, they have similar face shape, and are both kind of chinese coded/themed (plus they both wear green, which normally i'd say is a stretch but as we know in anime fashion sense is also hereditary for some reason)

    It's called 'Battle Revolution', and a big feature of 'Legends: Arceus' is the variety of changes they made to the standard battle formula. New status conditions, no multi-target or AoE attacks, Agile/Strong styles, weather conditions... I've probably forgotten a few more. I'd call all that *revolutionary* for sure.

    Pretty sure all the Unova stuff in this game is just there for a "hint"/reminder that Black/White remakes are up next after Scarlet/Violet. I don't see it going further than that, to be honest

    Tao hua i thought was burgh's ancestor. They have similar hair, just one is aged and swept back, but also his glasses have a very distinct bug pattern.
    Opals ancestor has to be Palina, they are both modelesque and similar features as show from opals young version art, along with her head wrap being the same colors as opals gym attire. the knot also make fairy wings.

    Simply put, as Yui is Tao Hua's grandaughter, then Charon, being part of the bloodline makes Tao Hua his ancestor as well. Maybe the Opal thing has merit, but it doesn't necessarily have to if Tao Hua is related to Charon as well

    I havent seen any youtuber mention this one. Or maybe i missed it. But pokemon with swords, or whatever. Like Cleavur. Can chop down wood logs from trees. I know ive seen people complain that sometimes its hard to look for wood, but there you go. Just throw a cleavur onto a tree as if to pick up an item and will chop some wood for you.
