  • We took this loop counter clockwise because we originally planned on going up and down to the noonmark summit the shortest way possible. This trail was insainly steep and crazy! We absolutly loved it in every way because the harder the climb the better! The vews were breathtaking and the rock scrambles were serious near the summit! At the summit we got reception and saw that Round mountain can be added to this loop witch was also part of the ADK29er Challenge so we decided to add that and man was this also a beautiful hike! These mountains had really really steep trails! Heart attack alert! 3100 feet of gain and 7.4 miles round trip!

Thank you Brian, you da man that got me and my lil bro into the life changing Adirondacks! I remember we did Noonmark as the last hike before our first high peaks. Two days later we did the GRT and this little beast was the perfect prep! Despite a lot of doubt in the lead up, it all went perfect and we’ve been hooked since. My brother Sean actually commented on your GRT video for some info and we still talk about how quickly you responded with loads of info and encouragement. Hope you see this so I can take a moment and give you some thanks. Gonna tackle Dix range in a few days and will be sending you good vibes from the summit. Hope you’re doing well bro!

Oh I am very well aware of that bird at this point in the game. I went through a whole bird database trying to find it. My favorite bird

Oh BTW, I did give this page a plug on the Adirondack Backcountry Hikers Facebook page yesterday! It was a comment within comments. They recommended Jonathan Zaharek's videos and I recommended yours!
