Dragon Fist is not canon. In dragon ball it was completely different and I'm sure it was a great ape fist and not a dragon.
Toriyama considers the movie as parallel dimensions from the main timeline, so it won't be inaccurate to say that they are canon. He's the creator of the series after all.

Ok, probably the only thing I like out SSJ4 is how much is changes Goku's personality. It gives him the brutal instincts and will of a true Saiyan.
plus it looks cool, makes sense as a transformation AND uses new versions of attacks with several variations
I really loved Goku's version of Ssj4 the most. Gogetas was cool, but I wish that Vegeta's version was designed a bit better. Then again, that's partially due to his wardrobe anyway, the tight pants do not fit well with the savage look. But Goku's was perfect and i loved how it was a more aggressive tone of Ssj3's personality. Completely ruthless and badass

I love how brutal goku gets in ssj4 and acts like a saiyan. I always see it like that a saiyan doesn’t transform in to a new form but transforms back in to old saiyan forms and the more you transform back the more you get the saiyan instinct with all that brutallity.

I seriously loved the darker tone of GT. It honestly just felt way more serious to me. Not to mention the color palette and amazing soundtracks. Lordy this series was great. I don't need this series to be canon or anything but I wish they expanded on it instead of ending it with Goku riding into the sun and disappearing for an eternity. Seems like they either wrote themselves into a hole or just gave up.

For anyone thinking Dragon Fist is canon because Goku used it to kill Demon King Piccolo, that was the Oozaru Fist. Yes it is pretty much the first version of the Dragon Fist but it's not the Dragon Fist itself. If you watch it you can clearly see his Oozaru head behind him, he's using his Saiyan power with that one punch the way Broly used it in his "Wrathful" form.

If you think about it, he has technically used this long before becoming an adult. Three limbs crippled, down on the ground against the demon king piccolo, whom had destroyed Shenron. He used a Kamehameha to send himself flying into the air and in a similar style, put everything on the line with the Oozaru fist.
Either way, every single moment is quite memorable, since there are only so many times Goku busts this destructive attack out, where his back is against the wall and he breaks the wall to make more room.
Interesting idea to suggest the oozaru fist is like a proto version of the Dragon fist
