- Yesterday was a glorious spring London day - but amazingly windy. Took a spin around London to show how much easier it is to get around a congested city on two wheels. A rider's eye view, for those who don't normally ride in cities...

I've been filtering in Glasgow for nearly three years now, and i don't think I'm ever in a lane anymore! Great video.

What a time capsule!
I used to love finding the most ridiculously small spaces to fit my little Honda C90 though. But its been off road for a wile. Going to get it back up and running for this winter and have some fun.

Seems pretty safe to me. He has a good idea of what's going on around him and slows down enough when filtering. There are plenty of people way more dangerous than this on my morning commute.

AWESOME VID!!! i wish id seen this sooner as i was bike courer at the time this vid was posted. Ignore the haters they just wish they were you cutting through the traffic but in reality never got the balls too!! love your vid mate.
Filtering is very addictive! Great care should be exercised if traffic is moving, or about to move off. I find caution is the best option......you'll get past that vehicle at the next lights anyway so just chill....
My motorcycle's a little bit wider than a scoot so can't get through those tight gaps anyways....
Like it ! having been a DR for too many years as well as commuting it's a pity you didnt have time and date, so you could give the numpty on the phone to the Old bill, well worth 3 points Ive give up counting those on the phone or playing with their Twat nav etc

filtering is great, in chester in the summer we have some mad traffic but on my yamaha cygnus 125 it just pissed people off to see some prat on a moped/scooter getting in front of the queue XD

I agree, I have been riding my rs50 which is the same size as the 125 for nearly 2 years, and it doesn't have the best turning radius
@Nickillik Wanna try it? Its easily capable of reaching such speeds. With the right tuning etc and a few adjustments its capable.

Why motorbikes are just generally better :) I love filtering in Coventry on my derestricted 2 Stroke Piaggio Zip. Pisses car drivers off so bad. Would get 125 but Im only 16 :( Still happy with my 55mph on a 50cc through town though.

@0Sortam0 They appear at all pedestrian crossings and its a rule that you must not park on them as it blocks the view for both drivers and pedestrians

Hi, im i learner motorcyclist at the moment and am hoping to do my A2 Restricted licence in August (im only 17), does anyone have any tips for riding in London (Central) for the very first time? it seems a completely differant ball-game to regular towns etc!!!

in this video you see people crossing the street when its green but when I went to london near the palace, fucking hell, SOOOOOO many asians and americans in herds crossing green lights almost getting flattened by buses :S

Actually, if you damage a car or hit a pedestrian, the same rules of culpability would apply as normal; i.e. did the car turn in front of you (making it their fault)? did the pedestrian step out suddenly (making it an accident)? It's not that filtering isn't legal (specifically protected under law); but that it isn't illegal. It is "legal" if done safely and without violating any other laws (like overtaking at a zig-zag pedestrian crossing or going around the wrong side of traffic islands).
What is filtering? Does that basically mean cheating your way through traffic? We aren't allowed to do that here in Florida. You have to stay in line just like cars. I can see why people would find it annoying as they have to watch for people riding like idiots and swerving all around them like drunken flies.

Filtering is fine, but there's a lot of really stupid moves here, like squeezing past the silver 206 when the cyclist was ahead, and having to clip the kerb when it was obvious the road was blocked. This does nothing for the image of powered two wheel riders.
I liked the moving of the rubbish from the kerb though, very good.
Only if there;s no cyclists in them though, I thought?
i didn't like it when you rode over the pavement. you can still achieve excitement without breaking the law. it appears that you fixed a bullet cam on your helmet - you need to do the lifesavers but you don't need to show them in the clip. check my similar clips on my website (address in clips) or on youtube under ecoory.

I wish I had the opportunity to ride in London. I moved to the States when I was 13, and filtering is illegal for the most part here. Then again, Americans are among the worst drivers in the world, so i'm not sure I would want to filter in american cities.
No offense... But this is the main reason why motorcycle riders in London has the highest death rate of accidents... It's mainly because of how "careless" you drive. Not only is this way of driving dangerous and lethal to yourself, but also to other people in traffic... Please think twice of doing this. This is dangerous to everyone...
