I always use the bus lane, you get noticed more! It's not so bad heading toward swiss cottage/regent's park, but gets hectic on the way up to golders green, even more so near the O2 centre.
I love these road movies, I used to work at the Community centre at Swiss Cottage and never saw traffic that bad until Temple Fortune. Did you get a ticket for going in the bus lane? My friend did in that exact spot.
@Quentyn73 And that's why a scooter or motorcycle is your best bet in London, actually your best bet is public transport, I lived in London for 6 months and I only bought a car when I was going home to Yorkshire
Prooves to me that there should be a dam lot more bikes in town and a lot less cars. That way a lot of people might get there a bit quicker. Makes sense
Simple answer mate... BUS LANE! Always tore it up the Ken Livingstone Approved Bus Lane. It's all about assessing the flows and having a sportsbike stuck in traffic is not the best way to go (at least i can blip my throttle a good few times on deaf BMW/Audi/porche convertible drivers!)
haha yeah the only reason people buy bikes here are really for good miles per gallon. insurance is really cheap too. but besides that its still high risk of crashing, cant travel in them, and etc. americans find all the bad things in stuff :P
I wish they'd get rid of them all full stop. When they were piloted in the 70s I naively assumed they'd make new ones. Silly me. They just stole space from the existing roads and made us plebs drive on the thin parts. Then they added humps. No wonder people in London can be so aggressive. Every simple journey can now be like a trip to hell and back. Bastards...
nope, if a police officer saw us doing it we would be pulled over and fined in a heartbeat. plus, since most of America isnt allowed to do it, the motorcycles that are made are kinda bigger, rendering it almost impossible to squeeze between cars anyways.
Used to work in a store on the Finchley Road in the 80s. It was mad enough then. Thanks for the video!
sooo coool... plus I agree Finchley road is sickeningly busy. cheers for the ride!

i dont know, well we dont have a lot of bike/moped riders. but if we could do that there would be double the accidents

I dont see why us motorbikers cant use buslanes, we hardly affect traffic as it is.
