About This Episode:
Today is all about the most famous dish in all of Cebu, lechon. I visit Rico's Lechon taking a tour with the bossman himself. Rico shows me how to stuff a pig, how they're roasted up and finally, and most importantly, how to eat this plate of yum. While at Rico's we also try out their famous Sisig and damn...I have seen the light. Like a junkie who's turned to jesus, I am born again with a taste of pig face. That makes sense, right? I lived and worked in the Philippines for a couple years and I must say that Sisig is one of my most favorite dishes I have ever tried. Lechon is so common and wonderful there, but when it's used to make Sisig, it is true heaven! A definite MUST TRY!

I always thought, the country Sonny will get the most popular, it must been the Philippines. They have no problems with english, understand his humour the most and also love food and having a good time :) I also hope he is there more often, because many people say filipino food is the least interesting in southeast asia, but its not. They dont know so many recipes. Like Kinilaw, which would be a bestseller around the world maybe :)

Goodness! Aside from friends& lovely beaches& places, lechon Cebu is one of the reasons why I visit Cebu. It's more flavorful, crispy than in most parts of the country. And now they have avspycy flavor! Take me back to Cebu! Stop pandemic!

Back when I lived in Puerto Rico there was a place in Guaynabo that had a very similar set up along the Ruta Lechónera called Apa’s. Very cool to see the commonality across 10,000 plus miles apart but have a shared 400 year history as a Spanish territory
Yeah, but even though we share the same food and lechon, we have two different origins. Because Filipino lechon has precolonial roots, while we did get the name "lechon" from the Spanish, we got the dish from Austronesian migrants who migrated to the Philippines before the Spanish came

Was just in Manila and went to Rico’s Lechon in Pasay. It was definitely delicious and went back for a second visit before flying out. Good thing the video shows how to make it so I can be crafting my own lechon back home.
