    About This Episode:
    TOday we're in Cebu City looking for that classic Filipino tasty treat, Dinuguan which is basically a stew of internal pig organs and the most special ingredient, pig blood. Along the way, we also side quest at the market and try some of the Philippines classic Bagoong, which is a pink fermented shrimp paste. It does not get more intense or yummy than today's video.

    I'm a white guy and I absolutely love denuguan. I was in the marines and we had a weekend pass and one of my junior marines who is Philippino asks me if I want to go meet his family. I said ya sure! So we drove for 5 or 6 hours to his family's house. We got in late and sleep in the next day and I wake up to this amazing smell and when I walked down stair I see a huge feast that his mom has been cooking all since the early hours of the morning. She starts to make me try everything. At least 40 + dishes. I tell her I can't take anymore food or I'll bust. She looks at me and says " put you haven't tried the chocolate pudding" . My friend looks at me and says "Don't do it. It's not a desert. After eating all that the denuguan (chocolate pudding) was a home run. It's my most favorite dish ever from anywhere. I've been to 10 country's and it still tops anything.

    I was married to a Filipino for 5 years and I lived with his family for 3 years in CA. I fell in love with the culture, sadly he was abusive and I had to divorce him but I miss being apart of their culture! His family was kind to me and I loved pancit, tupig, sisig, tocino, adobo, longanisa and more.

      Best Ever Food Review Show I got scared for you when you tried the uncooked/unsauteed fermented shrimp paste because even most Filipinos do not eat that uncooked. You are so brave! Lol!
      Regarding Dinuguan, the featured recipe is like a hybrid of two dishes, the Bopis and the Dinuguan. I guess that is how Cebuanos cook their Dinuguan, but for most parts of the Philippines, the traditional one has only few ingredients using only vinegar to ensure that the blood will have the signature super black color.

    Dinuguan is a Filipino savory stew of pork meat with blood.
    Originally dinuguan comes from manila, the sauce is thick and spicy. Manilenos use pork meat or small intestine. But for me the best dinuguan comes from Bicol, they cook usual pork meat and laman loob (internal organs) with the twist of coconut milk and spicy kick of chilies, lemon grass and other spices for savory.

    I remember watching this video almost 5 yrs ago. I’d casually watch the show and I never subbed anything. Mostly because I didn’t want a lot of “recommendations” popping up and honestly I wouldn’t always watch videos while signed in to my account. Anyway……
    As of today this channel has almost 10 mil subscribers, including me 😊 …and I am so happy for Sonny and the Team.
    Though I do sub to a lot of channels now this is still my most watched. I also comment most on these videos as Best Ever Food Review Show has some of the best fans!!!
    Most ppl are just super kind and always have something interesting to share. I believe that is because Sonny attracts the best subs on CZcams! Like attracts like.

    This is the Visayan version of dinuguan. You should also try the Bicol version of dinuguan that aside from her ingredients, it also used lot of coconut cream that makes the texture creamy and the well known Bicol Express with lots of chillies..I'm so hungry now... thanks for visiting the Philippines👍❤️

    When you come back to the philippines, try the dinuguan recipe from northern philippines. It’s called “crispy dinuguan”. Also when you’re in the northern part of the philippines, try “bagnet”. A chicarones version from the phi”lippines. Also try the “Vigan longaniza”. For soup, try the “pinapaitan” and “sinanglaw.”. For something sweet, try the “Royal bibingka”, “Tupig”. These delicaasies are made from glutinous rice flour. If you are in Visayas or southern part of the philippines, These menus are available from “the bamboo grove” in Dumaguete. This restaurant specializes in native cuisine from all over the philippines.

    @aklanpinoy6717 Před 7 lety +6

    Sonny, are you back in the Philippines now? Last time, I checked you were in Cambodia or Vietnam. Yes sir, dinuguan is one of my favorite Filipino dish with cooked white rice, yum! I love it and I can make this dish too! The story is I would never failed to try every dinuguan that comes across me, either in some random Pinoy restaurants that I happened in my travels, or at Filipino potluck parties at work or just anyone's home. With birthday parties, wedding parties, house warming parties, anniversary parties, you name-it parties, Filipinos get into, there is FOOD of course central to this, and likely this dish, DINUGUAN, WOULD NOT FAIL to show up, seemed to be always there, at that proverbial table, haha. At times, there is not only one dish of it shows up, but maybe two or three folks would bring this dinuguan dish, but they're cooked differently, because of there is personal touch to it whoever cooks it. Dinuguan dish are also cooked, varies from one province to another. The main ingredient of course the pork blood, no doubt, and the pork tripe/intentines, ears, tongues, hearts and liver: in short, organ meats that are once throwaways, i guess not anymore, hehe!! Very interesting dish, but is yummy!! Subscribing to your channel!!! ;)
