You should probably do some research on better help. I don’t think you’d feel comfortable having them as a sponsor after you hear about some of their business practices.
I totally agree with you
Ain’t no way they’re still taking BetterHelp’s money, ya’ll ain’t bullying them hard enough 💀

Just pure Cinema. What a way to end our Philippine series!! This might be on the most comprehensive and fun documentary about Apo Whang-Od. Thanks Sonny for this wonderful Jeepney Journey that all of us Filipino will remember! Apeace‼️

You’re awesome Chui!
Best couples 2024 😊
Ayos sir @TheChuiShow...salamat sa pagpunta...too bad this is the last episode for this visit with Sonny but hoping you will be back for more,as Cordillera has much more to offer..saw ur video eating Wanas as well and u did great. Come back and check out Canao, Adivay, Panagbenga, Lang-ay, Strawberry Festivals and more
“We lived a simple life before, we can always go back to that…We can live with whatever we have up here.” That was such an impactful statement. Which makes a lot of sense.
I just read your comment as she was saying it. Damn, I think " God " is trying to say...Hello George I'm real. (These weird things keep happening to me , all through out my life).
I teared up a bit here. I felt the resilience and humilty from these people and Filipinos living a humble life in general.
Money enters chat*
Had a great feel when you said "It's not just a tattoo it's a story, the ultimate souvenir, and a badge of honor" ...
Way to go sonny...
Such great statement
One thing I love about this guy is he’s always so respectful. You just know he goes to places to learn about their culture.
Maybe I haven't seen all the documentaries or vlogs about Apo Wang Od, but of all the videos I've seen, this is the first time she was interviewed face to face, and she seems very engaging and happy. ❤
She has been interviewed before, shes very chatty, when we met her she was quite cheeky haha!
I've seen a few about this Queen of tattoos,mY she continu to live in health🙏🏽🙏🏽.

106 year old traditional tattoo artist... and she's beautiful! INCREDIBLE!
I think she's about 70
She's 107yo
@@CursedChildX prove it
She was featured in VOGUE Philippines
@@mattheweagle223 shes 107. That's common knowledge. Google her.
Her smile her energy her talent, what a beautiful soul. Sonny is so lucky to have met her ❤
I can't believe this is a food channel! The amount of culture+history+personality this channel focuses on is BEAUTIFUL ❤ Love the way you inculcate food from a cultural aspect which makes you different and LEGEND when it comes to Food Channel.
Kudos to the BEFRS crew🙌🏼
I love how much respect you showed to Apo, Sonny that was really nice. Also how u didnt ask for a tattoo but when she offfered to give her signature you said yes and i bet that made her feel nice
Sonny is a legend in his own right!!! Not just a food blogger but a historian. I learn the world watching him, continue the fabulous work with the Best Ever Review Show team and friends 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Sonny brought Nanay to happy tears 💪🏽
Two celebrities leaving mark to each other. You're so humble sunny, it is actually you who left a mark to buscalan, and will be known and recognized forever.
This is overwhelming..😊and the first time i saw apo wang od smile like that .. i was smiling and laughing and had a teary eye.. happy tears.. thank you for your love for the Philippines sonny! We love you..
Why am I shedding tears while she speaks and tattoos. God bless her and you as well sonny.
Because you are soft bro
because you're empathetic and humane
Im not gonna take it away from her to act like a Queen cus she survived that long and made such an impact not just on her village but beyond that as well. She is a real Queen.
She's in Vogue Philippines issue, just can't remember what month. Go search her online.
I was blessed to meet this wonderful woman and got a tattoo from her. That journey to her is no joke. There is a crazy steep hill that children to elderly walk up and down daily like it’s nothing. It’s amazing
This is why I love your content, Sonny. You're more than a food vlogger, you're actually recording history through ethnic cuisines and people's way of life. ❤ we learn so much from you, Sonny the modern historian. Thank you and to your dedicated team. ☺
Apo Wang Od is the coolest Centenarian ever. Every tattoo artist on earth would look up to her being one of, if not the most elderly person to have ever tattooed on earth. in four years she will have been tattooing for a hundred years. What a legend.
She's hard core all the way. Love to be able go to her so she can tattooe me...
Centenarian stfu shes not a mythical creature
Not just tattooists. I have none. There is not much i want… but 3 dots is one of them. (Iykyk, eh!)

That lady is amazing she definitely helped that village with a way to make money by those beautiful traditional tattoos
Seeing Apo Whang-Od smile is just comforting. I remember my beloved Grandma. She was as gracious as her.
Brave you(for eating Etag)!, Funny you(for injecting humor)!, and So Lucky You(for having met and had dinner face-to-face with our iconic Apo Whang Od)!!!
That lady has the best energy and for bieng 106 wow i could only imagine bieng as happy as she is and to live that long the stories she has the life she has lived bless her with many more years💜
she's actually 107 now

she is immortal
There are actually a variety of Cordilleran etags with different processes in making. Here's some of what I know as an Igorot:
Etag (clean) - salted and sun dried with cover to prevent flies and wrapped with paper after sun bathing for atleast 3 days.
Etag (raw) - salted and sun dried until maggots devour the decayed parts.
Sabeng - stored in sealed claypot soaked in lard and salt
Kiniing - smoke dried (salted or not)
I don't know of the other processes but these are actually my favorites.
I'm sorry, I'll stick with pizza.
kiniing the best he he...its basically jerky

Thank you sharing this Sonny! Lots of interesting foods I haven’t seen or had in a long time.
I am showing some of us here in Buscalan your video right now.
I just had my palanus in Buscalan with my now fiance/wife. She is one of the tattoo artists in the village. I am wondering if we missed you while having our first palanus near Anunang. I met my now fiance last year when getting my tattoos from the village. It's surreal that they are all my family now. The people of Buscalan are absolutely amazing, I am so happy to be of them now.
Whayu lawhi
So happy that you got to meet Apo Whang Od. She's such an icon, I had goosebumps when I heard her voice in your video! Another awesomely wrapped up series, keep it up!
Ma’am Whang-od isn’t 106 years old though. It’s ridiculous that people are ashamed to point it out publicly
@@Gargeler yeah cause she's 107 now.
she's not an icon
@@GargelerThe hype created for this old lady is sad. Calling her an icon by people who dont even know iconic means. its a great video. But the comments are cringy.

This has to be one of my favorite videos yet! This was beautiful ❤️
This channel is just amazing. I've been watching your vlogs for years and I have seen it grow exponentially in so many aspects. The content, the story telling, and of course the food review. To you and your team, keep it up!
. Rich culture, rich history, amazing people.
Love you from Tanzania
Apo wang od is a Philippine treasure her artistry as mambabatok is one of Philippine unique and original tradition.and we have so much tradition and culture same as apo wang od
Sonny, I'm so happy you got the tattoo!! It's a part of history and an honor, honestly. I truly hope others will carry on the practice for many years.
I love it when you highlight similarities among the many cultures that you have already encountered! It gives us a much wider perspective.
Wooww what an honor being able to feature our province in your show, with so many people featuring Apo Whang od on there shows and you tube channel THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE. I have much love for this show, it's always good to watch the different cultures and traditions that you highlight in every place you visit-very informative and meticulously thought of , thank you so much for visiting our Province @BestEverFoodReviewShow
Your production value from quality exposures, beautiful aerial shots, timely narration over good B rolls, creative camera work, high end sound editing and above all, intriguing content and worthy host… your videos are really Netflix-worthy imho.
Thank you Sonny for showing the culture and beauty of my country! Wishing you nothing but the best of things ahead.
I have an amazing story. One day I was driving home, when all of a sudden the Lord came to me in spirit. I felt very close to Him. I knew if I asked him to play any song on the radio he would, I guess to bless my faith.
So I said "ok, Lord play "Come as you are by Nirvana".
I turned on the radio and the song started playing right there on the spot, perfectly…
I started getting flooded with chills like a waterfall, crying, and trembling.
He stayed with me for 10 minutes in my driveway. until I got outta the car.
A couple months after that I started getting amazing prayers answered way more often, because it helped me quit doubting when I pray and I was lined up with biblical instructions. It's 6 years later and I still get answered prayers in Jesus name.
Sunny getting tattooed epitomizes how genuine he is ❤
If you say so. 🙄
Not really
Epitomizes what a reckless fool he is!
Cringe ass replies
@@Scripner she is too old to be tattooing lol. she was tapping it too hard compare to the clips showing the younger female doing that tourist up. thats why his ish looked all f up and bleeding and he didn't show the end result 😅
Sonny you are showing the side of world that no one else shows.
I appreciate sonny for keep coming back to the Philippines to feature our food and culture... He might have been visited all over Philippine provinces featured on his channel.... A testament that he love our food and our tradition... Thank you sonny... We Filipinos love you.. ❤
What a way to see our Apong Whang Od being interviewed by you. And I'm happy to see she's happy for the other people visiting their place and sharing their cultures and traditions.. and Sonny, you are successful interviewing her and join you for a sumptuous meal.. God bless you!
The lady was born in around 1918? Then she was around 27 years old by the time WW2 ended? Now that's fascinating.
Former tour guide at Kalinga. I just want to say that I am so happy to see you visit my happy place . after all this years, following your journey. #proudbestie here
Beautiful coverage. Thank you, Sonny ❤️
Thank you Sonny! Been a fan since your first travel to PH, keep doing what you're doing and more power!
The tattoo is magical, keep smiling forever 😊
Finally sonny tried the authentic etag im proud of this food tradition I just remembered the smell when my grandfather was boiling etag with a lot of white worms floating😂
I appreciate Sonny for always being very gracious and respectful yet still be so comical. The young lady you interviewed is an optimist and it's refreshing to see individuals believing in themselves. ❤Thank you.
love to watch this one , i always kept watching your food travels .. keep it up ♥
Wow! Great closing for a great series!
I remember in middle school, we had a new girl named Ricci (Richie) who came from the Philippines. She was gorgeous, intelligent, and SO cheerful.
I remember when she brought this ziplock bag of what looked like shredded string cheese for lunch.
I asked for some, and she told me it was squid. Like, squid jerky.
It was so weird. And memorable. And I have craved it a few times in my life since then.
All I had to give her was a lousy peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
That might be a lousy peanut butter and jelly but in our culture, that was already a thoughtful gesture. 😊
This is byfar my most favorite philipppines adventure. Thankyou!
This show is amazing especially seeing where you’re coming from your first video 🎉
This is one of my fav food shows to watch. So love the 1hr plus episodes that shows all the travel. hope to see more. thank you for all you do.

I really like this episode! Good job sonny
This is one of your best videos.❤
Love this episode ❤
Thank you for this episode. It felt special. ❤
Whang-Od is from a remote village in the Cordillera region of the Philippines. It's in the mountainous interior north of the Philippines which has never been conquered and administered by the Spanish throughout their three centuries of stay in the country. Even during the American regime, government institutions and services arrived later in her area. That means registries of births , deaths, and marriages were nonexistent in her area when she was born.
Like most elders like her, Whang-Od most probably estimated her age. The usual practice is to base from their approximate ages during WW2. (i.e "I was this size during the war, so I was probably xxxx y/old"). In that process, many over- or under- estimate their actual ages some even by a decade or more.
Dude I grew up in the same area Sonny did. Being from Minnesota we how you say don't have the same kind of tastes like this.. ugh I give you props man. I'd rather eat grasshopper
Watching your vlogs is like completing My Day. It's a food review but at the same time, if you're sad, it's like watching comedy because your vlogs makes me happy.
Continue exploring different place and culture. Thank you for an amazing experience even though its thru your vlogs. It's very helpful.
