Agree. On one of the eps he did say even though the food doesn’t fit his taste, he tries to put himself in the local’s shoes and try to understand them culturally and that’s why he’s so respectful. It’s not always about the taste, it’s also food availability. (This was in papua, indonesia episode). And I’m paraphrasing heavily hahaha

Im from Philippines too but the first time I tried cooking and eating croc meat was in 2005 when I was working in Malaysia. My local friend AKA croc hunter phoned me one afternoon and ask me if i can come to his house where in an almost 12 kgs croc meat was waiting for me. Im a little bit hesitant but took it. But no idea on how am I going to cook it, but one thing came to my mind was to cook it like ginger beef. So I prefer so much ginger and cook it and turn out to be delicious wherein even my filipino co worker ate it without knowing it is a croc meat and said it is delicious and said it is so tender and juicy mistaken to a young lamb meat 😆😆😆. My first experience eating exotic food aside from squirel and porcupine only in Malaysia and maybe i can try it someday here in Philippines once its been available in the market 😉😉

To all the Pinoys reading, you are the nicest most wonderful and welcoming people ive met, i lived in macau many years, and struggled through meth addiction and basically was living a life meant for rockstars, when i was on the street, a young pinoy named June and another one named E.J helped me a lot, one worked at a pizzaria and the other one at a convenience store, they would let me sleep in their shops and one time i remember that they asked for my backpack and filled it with food, they then invited me to their place, it was a small house and it had a lot of people living there in not so great conditions, still they offered me a bed and their food, asking for nothing in return. So since then it has been 5 years since i last touched the stuff, i am back in good terms with my family, like it never happened, thank god i was young and had time to recover. I am now very grateful to them.
Salamat Po my friends, and see you soon ;)

These crocs are actually being grown for food consumption (like chicken and other meat). It is different from the one which comes from the wild. And the best part is, it is regulated under the law/government. So you don't have to worry about extinction or anything whatsoever. So it means, that it's okay to cook/eat these crocs, just make sure that you can grow certain numbers of crocs too (just like when people cut trees, they plant new trees as well). Just sharing.

On that topic of birds and crocodiles being similar in their meat: it does make sense! Birds and crocodiles are both part of the archosaur family, birds being theropod dinosaurs and crocs being of the order pseudosuchia. Other members of this family include the extinct pterosaurs and various small obscure creatures that also went extinct. Birds and crocs are indeed related as a result so the similarities in their meat makes perfect sense to me at least!
Side note, I ate fried alligator bits in Florida once and I can accurately describe the flavor as being like chicken but with a slight seafood taste to it, probably because gators are semi-aquatic.

I built a bid roster when i was 16 years old with my friends. we were typical kids that take stuff apart and work on cars but we all went to a pig roast and was like we are making one. my dad was a junk removal guy and my friends dad owned a 150 year old mill. what you need to make a pig roast is rather simple. we used a 275 gallon oil drum cleaned it very well and had a few intense fires inside to make anything burnt out. the tank was newish so was not bad. we got a free boat on the side of the road small and used the trailer to mount the drum and cut top off and added hinges and drilled holes for the Rotisserie so we had a motor that spins 10 times per minute and we needed to get it down to 5 turns per min and were able to with a bunch of bike gears and chain. motor was electric. we bought a stainless steel rod from the machine shop next to my house. that was 100 bucks and we got everything else for free. so built that when i was 16 and im 38 now and we still use it. what else if someone wants to scale down. after thanks giving we would have a small party and bomb fire and but like 5 cheap turkeys and chickens or hams and cook those on the cooker as well.
I did not mention the angle iron to place the stuff but that was all makeshift and can if someone wants to make this they can figure it out. level the trailer weld the tank a close to level and can adjust the trailer height a smidge but dont rely on that to level. best of luck
