If there are mods you would have put in your own top 6 list, let me know in the comment section... maybe they'll make it into the second wave of top 6 mods in State of Decay 2!

      It's because of the passage of time. When they were first invented, the Nightmare Zone didn't exist, and they're insanely overkill on Standard Zone, so I didn't like them. One of them I was also not using properly. I didn't understand what it did due to a technicality in the game.

Sure, they cost a large amount of parts to make and you can only get it from the bounty broker, but being able to equip everyone with a high powered select fire assult rifle with at least a 100 round mag, or a silenced rifle either of which are on par with the other Broker Weapons in terms of being powerful and useful strategic tools, and a lead filled bat, can make your whole team quite tough very easily. Also, another couple of things on morale. It's super important. If a survivor's INDIVIDUAL morale is low enough, they might leave your community entirely and thus you lose that character and all their stuff. Individual morale is different than, but generally based off of, community morale. To see individual morale, check your community tab and the details of a particular survivor and highlight the top section I believe.
    This is important because you might have overall community morale in the green, but one or two characters are yellow or red individually due to traits or occurrences such as fights and leadership demotion.
    You know those quests you get... Like the beer enclave people quest... Where a community member vocally opposes the idea? If their individual morale is low enough, they might straight up leave if you do it even after they said it's not a good idea! I've had it happen in my early days playing this game and I was super pissed lol.
    Also note that when community members get in fights with each other, this is a spiralling hole of bad morale that keeps feeding on itself. The negative hit to morale from the first fight lasts quite a long time, and DURING that time, it might trigger even more fights, effectively locking some people in red morale state for a great deal of time, or getting MORE community members into a red morale state.
    That's why I love the white noise machine, and even the camp heater (requires power, plugs into bedroom types, +3 morale, found at camp stores or sites) and even espresso outposts. Bad morale doesn't just gimp your build times and XP gains... People might just bounce outta your community, never to be seen again! ...Hope they didn't have a B50FG on 'em!

    Agreed with most. While the compost heap does give a bit more, Fertilizer is automated. You forget to click that heap thing once and you are screwed for a day. I think the difference is something like 1.5 food units which I pay to not have to remember to check it. Signal Booster can be found in the wild at military posts. I disagree with the fireworks station. That should have been pill press. The pyro launcher is nice and all but it's noisy. If it's your style of play, great but it simply isn't mine. Pill press is for any style of play and that is it's edge (Not to mention not a paid DLC item). Love your videos fox and think your channel is the #1 go to channel for State of Decay fans! Kudos on a great vid!

    • @GitGudFox
      @GitGudFox  Před 4 lety +1

      I agree the pill press could make onto the list, but I don't agree with replacing the fireworks station. The pyrolauncher is the most powerful weapon in the game by a long shot. It's better than the pill press since you could very efficiently farm plague hearts for influence with minimal setup, even on Nightmare Zone, while the pill press requires a lot of pieces of a puzzle and to get going.

    • @GitGudFox
      @GitGudFox  Před 4 lety +1

      Also, I disagree with the pyrolauncher being too loud because the shot sound is separated from the impact sound.
      Even on nightmare zone, it is possible to fire the weapon in such a way that zombies hear the explosion of the weapon rather than the discharge of each shot meaning they approach the explosions rather than the shooter.
      And this is coming from the guy who frequently emphasizes the importance of sound mechanics in SoD2. I don't think this is a playstyle issue so much as an issue stemming from lack of familiarity with the pyrolauncher.

    • @TK3477
      @TK3477 Před 4 lety +1

      @@GitGudFox Admittedly I don't use the weapon so much as I find all sound on nightmare mode not a good thing. Even if they are attracted to the spot the shots impacted, the noise travels out in a circular fashion. Hence noise travels back to the shooter and alerts the zombies around him/her. On nightmare mode, it's not inconceivable for the noise to attract that feral pack spawn (or the game to generate them from out of thin air near you) which would give them ease of closing the gap to you. Not knocking your choice but if I have to put in effort to think and maneuver in a way to use a weapon effectively, there is no real value over any silenced weapon which requires me to just aim and shoot.

    • @GitGudFox
      @GitGudFox  Před 4 lety +1

      That's not how you use the pyrolauncher. It's a heavy weapon. It doesn't replace the usage of a general purpose weapon. If something needs to be sniped, you wouldn't use the pyrolauncher on it. That'd be like... using a jackhammer to tenderize your beef.
      What it does is allow you to fight much larger battles than you'd have to either ignore or run away from. It also protects you from the bullshit spawns of Nightmare Zone when the game just chooses to dump them onto you.
      It will flatten battlefields of zombies. It turns ferals into walking 50 influence pickups. It lets you save NPCs because the fire damage doesn't hurt them too much, so you can just hose the entire area down (this includes your own community members). It cleanses bloater gas preventing NPCs from getting stuck inside of them, and it's REALLY inexpensive on ammo. The ammo is dirt cheap.
      To use the pyrolauncher silently, you just have to fire at a long range where the ammo lands far enough away from you that the soundwave is HIGHLY unlikely to drag things in from your direction. If it pulled in 3 ferals, they'd wind up investigating the explosion area and probably set themselves on fire.

    • @TK3477
      @TK3477 Před 4 lety +1

      @@GitGudFox That's right. While commenting with you I couldn't remember why I don't carry the launcher. Now I do.
      In my eyes, and I respect if you disagree, but the pyro just isn't worth it. I can carry fuel bombs, which don't cost ammo units, if I have large mobs to deal with. It's the difference between carrying bloater grenades and the ammo for the echo bloater gun. Plus you have all the get NPCs out of jail goodness all the same. Main difference is how much you can carry. But neither weapon nor bombs can do squat against a juggernaut. This is why I go with a 50 Cal. 4 shots and done. If you carry a launcher, you need a juggernaut plan. Ammo takes 35 ish rounds, grenades take much more skill and can miss if he moves a different way, and melee runs risks if Zed's are around. What would be your jugger plan?
