    I just bought a scp201L to control my analog cars. I have tried everything and have not been able to find it on the slot.it app or pair digitally. No idea what I’m supposed to be doing. I may end up just going wired again but that seems like a big waste of money. Hope you can help. Thanks

      Look back a bit further in my Slot Car Tech Demos playlist for where I show how to pair with the CRI. It's similar, but works best when you start the process on the controller, and then plug in the CRI. I'll need to know more about the specific handle (SCP1/2/3?) and cartridges you're using. It's possible the oXigen cartridge, and/or the CRI, need to have updated firmware. Do you have, or know anyone with an oXigen USB stick?

    Hey. You using scalextric? If so can I ask what power base you’re using.
    I have digital but I hate the arc pro as the controllers are garbage! They don’t let the cars coast! Is this something that the track does or the controllers? Cos the analog track allows the car to coast somewhat but the arc pro base stops the cars dead when you let of the trigger!
    Any advise is appreciated mate

      @ggaub  Před 3 lety

      I do have an ARC Pro. The problem is not the controllers. The problem is that the app(s) currently don't have a coast option. Scalextric Digital does not support adjustable brakes, but it does support coasting when the trigger is released, if that's what you want. This has been an option for a while, but apparently not in the two apps I'm familiar with for ARC Pro. I'll encourage the developers to add that option.

      Top man!
      Yeah I sent the arc pro back and was going to get the older advanced 6base because you can set the minimum sensitivity and have more than one pace car.
      I did use a third party app for the arc pro that had adjustable throttle curves but no matter how much a fiddled with the curve I couldn’t drive as fast as when using old skool analogue cos it wouldn’t coast and that’s what I’m used to. Thanks for the reply and maybe when the arc pro is a little older it might have a few more functions that people need. Thanks mate.

      @@DJSpannamanUK Don't go believing that I have any special influence. I just posted a request to the thread on SlotForum.com about the MAGIC app. If you're a member, or are willing to join the forum, voicing your support for that option would help even more than just me asking for it.

      I’ll get on it!
      One more quick question please kinds sir.
      If I stick with the wired controllers but want some adjustments, what controllers you recommend? Scp2?

    • @ggaub
      @ggaub  Před 3 lety +1

      @@DJSpannamanUK If you're using wired control, then the SCP is where it's at. I'm not a big fan of the wires, though, so I set it up wireless, but that's more expensive to add the needed components, unless you get the ARC Pro back so you can just use an SCP3. A feature slot.it just added to their Type C oXigen chip is the ability to set brakes in the chip itself using their app. Look through my Slot Car Tech Demos playlist for some older videos showing the Type-C chip and other SCP and oXigen videos.

    Hi mate. Thanks for the videos.
    I have just bought the scp2 with a red cable. Apparently for digital and analogue SSD. Will that need a battery or is the power coming from the cable?
    Also is it going to be a direct replacement for the standard SSD controller? Plug and play?

    • @ggaub
      @ggaub  Před rokem +1

      The red cable on any SCP controller is always for power. If the controller is for digital, then it can NOT also be for analogue (except with an SSD base that has an analog mode, such as the C7042 "APB"). You should also have some black cables and Y cables. The Y cables are to connect to the power supply so that the power supply powers the base and the controller. The long black cables are for different digital systems, so you'd need to have the right one installed. It sounds like you might have gotten it second hand and the person who sold it didn't give you the instructions or cables?

      @Greg Gaub cheers for the reply.
      Yeah i haven't got it yet. Bought it online for £29 and thought it was too good to pass up.
      I have the C7042 and was hoping incpuld just plug and play. Then I read the slot it instruction sheet pdf and I saw about power supply. And was confused if I had to then get a different cable for the handle as my SSD controllers just plug in with a 2.5mm jack and you are driving.
      I may need some more help once I recieve the handset if I get stuck please. It didn't show what was on the other end of the cable. Only said it was compatible with SSD ect

      @@DJSpannamanUK Did the seller say which SSD base it was used with? I ask, because there have been three different digital cartridges for the SCP, and one of them will not work with your base. If he does not include the instructions that it came with, then you can find instructions for the most recent version of the digital cartridge on the slot.it web site, but if you get an older one, the switch positions are not the same. If he was using it for SSD, though, the switches are probably already in the right position. Here's a link to the manual.

      @Greg Gaub yeah I see the instructions say you have to flick switches up and down for a certain layout for it to work on different tracks like ninco and carrera.
      Thanks so much for the help so far. I will give you another shout when I have it if its making my head hurt. Ha.

    The whole time you're doing this what's happening to the USB dongle plugged into the computer? Is it just recording the pairing so it knows how to track?

    • @ggaub
      @ggaub  Před rokem +1

      The controller to car pairing is separate from the dongle. You don't need a dongle at all. The race management software will just automatically detect and include any active car and controller in the vicinity. You could pair your car and controller at your house, then come to my house and turn it on, and my RMS would show them on the screen.
