    Thanks Greg, just coming back to my SCP3 after quite a while away - this has been a great refresher to prep me for getting going again. Brace yourself for a torrent of questions in the coming days.......

      HA! Not a problem! Though, it might be until the new year before I can do it, maybe your questions will be good to answer with a new video. I'll help as I can, of course, but don't be surprised to see a new video if you have more than a few common questions I haven't already made a video about. ;-)

    Greg- you have convinced me to try this out on my Arc Pro. I just ordered one and look forward to comparing this to my stock Scalextric Arc wireless controller. Thanks for the video.

      I'm glad it helped. The biggest thing you'll notice is how light and smooth the trigger is. as you can see, I prefer the two finger trigger, so give that a try, since it's easy to change if you don't like it. It does take some getting used to, but I'll never go back to single finger. ;-) Also, being able to make adjustments easily is really nice. No more need to adjust in settings in an app and change every time you put a new car on. Just tweak a couple knobs and you're golden.
      One down side to using it on ARC at the moment, is because there's no such thing as adjustable braking for Scalextric digital (or ARC Air), the brake knob has no effect. But, you're just one oXigen car chip away from having that. ;-) Anyway, thanks for watching, liking, subscribing and all that. I hope to release more videos soon.

    I think I'll keep the ARC Pro controllers for now. I prefer the KISS method when it comes to racing. If I were in a club and racing competitvely every month, may think differently. That's not happening here.

      The main benefit is being able to just turn a knob or two to get any car to respond the way you like, rather than digging around in app settings to make changes. This is especially nice when you're just turning laps without even using the app.
      The ARC controllers are actually quite good. In fact, my opinion is that they are the best controllers ever to come from the Scalextric brand.

    Hello Greg my step dad is having an issue with pairing the handle to the car he has registered the handle with the app but can't add firmware or get the handle to talk to the app

    • @ggaub
      @ggaub  Před 3 lety

      There's not much to do with the app after the controller is registered other than update firmware, which is still in the works for apple devices. If he has an android that should work, but it won't wok on apple yet. If he wants to update firmware on an apple device, he'll need to use the Nordic nRF Toolbox app. The SCP3 manual from slot.it explains this process, and I show it in some of my videos. What kind of car/chip is he pairing it to? I've got a few videos on various things, so be sure to watch whichever ones are for your use-case and let me know exactly where the process hits an error or something.

    Do you have an scp1 and if so can you get better lap times with the scp3 with the advancements made. Considering an upgrade myself. Thanks

    • @ggaub
      @ggaub  Před 3 lety

      I have the SCP1, SCP2, and SCP3. I would say better lap times between the three will be down to the cartridge used (I prefer the High Amp, aka Metal for analog racing), and your comfort with the trigger. I prefer the two finger trigger you can get with the SCP2 and SCP3, but if you like the one finger trigger, and already have the high amp cart, and are already familiar with the controls, I don't think there would be a great advantage to getting the SCP2 or SCP3. But, if you find yourself flipping the DIP switches in the top of the SCP1 more than you'd like, the new switch on the SCP2/3 is much more convenient. If you just can't get the power curve the way you like it on the SCP1, one of the things they added was the ability to re-map the actual trigger sensor, but most people don't need that level of customizing.

      @kyledally8410 Před 3 lety

      Thanks a lot. I do not have a high current cartridge as I do use my difalco for most of my racing. Considering a third eye but really don’t want to spend that much if I can get really close with the scp 3. My difalco is around .1-.2sec lap faster than my slot.it

      @ggaub  Před 3 lety +1

      @@kyledally8410 You might just be more comfortable with the DiFalco, but if you're looking to upgrade the SCP, the first step is the high amp cart.

    Great video Greg...is it compatible with Carrera Digital?

    • @ggaub
      @ggaub  Před 3 lety

      Yes, but only in the same way as the SCP1 and SCP2, requiring the digital cartridge and CRI.
      The SCP3 does not connect directly to the Carrera Digital wireless controller system, no.

      @ggaub  Před 3 lety

      @@MrAramsey4979 They are the two that came before this one. Slot.it has been around for many years, and has had an SCP controller on the market for most of them. They use cartridges in the handle to work with different systems. You can find more information about that system on their web site. I wish I could say that this worked with the Carrera system like it does with the new Scalextric base, ARC Pro/Air, but I can't.
