This is why I hate English dub of anime/manhua series.
You can bet your ass I will not watch "SOLO leveling", english dubbed, because i already know the english VA's will ruin it.
it will be either japanese or korean for me.
VA should have some desperation to keep their job, that is how you get real emotion in acting, not because you got paid 10K for that line.
in japan this is very visible, for every line you do not want to say, there are 1000 people in the line who can and will be replacing you.

This is my thoughts as a a writer looking to get off the ground, I have 2 options to dodge the toxicity of a lot of people here by:
      1. Commissioning Japanese artists to draw/voice for my work
      2. Commissioning AI to do the work instead

Yes. I was thinking it would be something of a power move for that college student to go on and do videos professionally and use AI exclusively for voices. Just don't use an AI copy of one specific VA. If the AI can copy a specific person, it should be able to 'remix' a voice by combining a few or tweaking one. Really, human voice actors are all copying past talent to some degree themselves, or what they present would be so alien no one could relate to it.

Azula is the only thing on the tip of my tongue i can show an example of for her great voice acting, and that’s great. And the whole social thing, at least for people who use the internet talking space too much, is to start arguments. Hell sometimes I’m tempted to start an argument in reply sections. That’s what the internet does to you. Anyways the social thing yeah they have a new agenda in celebrity land. Whether it be new world order or poison the peoples mind is a whole idk from me. But the agenda is there for sure. And her, as the celebrity falls into that. But you can understand her frustration with the AI thing. That is most understandable. And hey it’s her choice to blacklist a random guy. Just trying to gatekeep everything in response to AI, unfortunately that makes the push for Ai stronger every time something like this happens. If anything he pulled enough money together to consciously create a voice acting gig that wasn't there before. It was his only option in his singular individual budget range and it is a fan project. I have to wonder if she would've been just as angry if the guy had collaborated with cheap/amateur VAs who could convincingly pull off the characters' voices. If yes, then that would bring the _real_ issue out into the sunlight: Money, money, money. These people fancy themselves the gatekeepers of these characters, and if you want to utilize those characters in any way, you gotta hire the legacy VAs and pay their ludicrously exorbitant rates. I guess it's like pro baseball: Gotta be a rich b**ch to even play. Which, if that _is_ the standard that Grey is fighting for, is an extremely poor look and very anti-artistic expression to boot.

Yeah unsure about that. The animator said he hired somebody to do the Shaggy voice lines for like $10 so not sure why he didn't hire some cheap/amateur VA to do the rest? Enough time to work for how many countless hours on the animation but not enough to time work 1 shift at a fast food restaurant?
I kinda understand were VA's are coming from though. AI is literally replacing your entire jobs field and people are cheering happily as everything you worked so hard for gets destroyed. Sucks they went out and targeted a small time indie creator but at the same time if a big corporation sees that a small time indie animator can get away with creating an short film using AI to create the voice of an established voice actor, then whats to stop them from creating a full scale production using AI for the entire cast? Not to mention people using AI voices to create explicit, slanderous or even straight up criminal content. The law is gonna have to catch up real fast to draw some lines, for better or for worse.

Ever other fan animator would just use AI in hopes they can get her to do it for free rather than hiring any other VA, amateur or otherwise. Not to mention offering to do it for free instantly deletes any bargaining she has for any company job offer. "You VA'd for free, for this guy, VA for dirt cheap for us or else we'll just use AI."

Update: A few hours after this video, Grey Delislie has returned to twitter, this time however she has absolutely been infected by the deviantart anti ai squad and the fact that there's no processing is almost comical. She's copy pasting anti ai artist rants even though she's a blatant voice actor, admitting she didn't read or see the original video, (much less read what's being thrown at her if she's saying that her voice work is deviantart anti ai art... FOR VOICE acting.), and she's also still having her fanbase of like.. 20 people she hasn't blocked still attack. She's trying to get her warner brothers lawyers to "sue" people who disagree with her. It's absolutely a clown show.
Initially even on opposing sides, i still felt like i wanted to be at least somewhat sympathic. She was a voice i grew up with and many others, vicky, Mandy (Grim Adventures), Azula, etc. However every passing moment she shows herself heavily isolated or manipulated by angles of hate, has yet to apologize, and instead doubled down on hating the creator and insisting that they are a "thief", even though they were a non profit creator who created out of limits, with mass support and millions rounding out to watch them.
Votes of supports reached 7500 for the short, seeing it as mistargeted and legitimately talented. Meanwhile Gray deslsle is having her fans rage that her name was spelled "Greg", (OF ALL THINGS", isolating her further, and basically isolating her to 20 people who agree with her and blocking everyone who criticizes her. She's a good voice actor. But not a good person. Meanwhile through all of this by comparison.
Tara strong, voicer of Timmy Turner and also va counterpart, has been voicing her support for pet shelters and animal rights while Grey Delisle has been boycotting a small creator.
Not all voice actors are seemingly awful and i hope everyone has a warm spot in their heart for fuzzy animals. But things are coming out. True or not, people are alleging on twitter that Gray Delislie is twitter rumored to have ruined her first marriage by cheating on her first husband? Twitter gossip is the source and could be completely bunk, but is she really the good person we all assumed she'd be?
