He said, "Shastra Pramaan" (Scriptural Evidence). He basically meant that we (ISKCONites) believe Krishna is god and the portraits of Krishna are accurate because our scriptures say so, similar to how you believe that is the portrait of your grandfather just because your family says so.

But isn't history the same? We believe certain events (e.g. the lifestyle of civilizations, events leading to its downfall etc.)happened so long ago because we have paintings, sculptures about their lifestyle and journals they wrote.
If we want to know about nature's history, we have a lot of methods(fossils, carbon dating, rocks). But human history is hard because most of it is lost and the only existing sources are paintings and scriptures
@@ghostoflego3390 No history isn't the same. In figuring out history we only relay on what the evidence directly tells us or theories based on said evidence. The paintings, journal etc you talk about help us figure out history by cross-referencing it with our evidence. If they all say the same thing then that means it must be true, however if they say different things, then ofc there is room for debate and speculation, the degree of which depends upon the intensity of differences between them. Now when it comes to religious texts, all of them say different things (like how the origin of the universe is different in different religious texts) plus there is no other evidence to cross-reference it with and check its authenticity. Therefore, religious texts aren't reliable evidence.

My concept about this is pretty simple:
An Atheist doesn't believe that God exists - because there is no proof. At the same time, an Atheist doesn't believe that God doesn't exist - because there is no proof of that either.

Same feeling, commented as well on a different video. But he won't listen, because science demands effort. It's much easier to ride the gravy train and play a silly board game. His own understanding of science and research is shoddy, as pointed out a few times. At worst, he becomes as misleading as the people he criticises.

Your 1:40 view that either something exists or something does not exist is tricky. Nothing may have independent existence. A 6 feet guy is tall in comparison to a 5 feet 5 inches. A 6 feet guy is short in comparison to a guy with 6 feet 7 inches. Just if you see a 6 feet guy with nothing else then how do you define him? If in this existence there was just one guy then you would need a background to understand him. So he would have to exist in relation to the background.
You can’t define the attribute of ‘tallness’ but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t exist because again tall and short are relative terms while existence isn’t.
