This song.. well calling it beautiful/ amazing etc is a understatement, they both smash it and it's so powerful to us who truly understand his words and the meanings behind them
Love his hopefulness and positivity while he was so ill and not knowing.. Ren is amazing
I’m loving the Ren journey! You’re right, it’s hard to fit him into a genre. It’s really impressive how well Ren is able to do these live performance videos!
His collaborations with Chinchilla are fantastic. They did a really powerful duet “How To Be Me” about Ren’s friend who took his life. And there are a couple fun busking videos they did together, including Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing.”
How To Be Me is a must follow up to this.

Push it back down, is referring to his feelings. This song is about how the psychiatric meds make you feel numb, almost dead inside, but without them you suffer intrusive suicidal thoughts. Like a no win situation. But it’s real life for too many people.
This was written by Ren. To me it is about his struggles with pills for his illness that make him feel better for a little while but dull him like he is walking around a zombie. Nice reaction!
Actually both are credited on this and Chinchilla has her own similar demons, I believe.😊

I have myoclonic seizures. Its like a hiccup in my brain. A hiccup is a myoclonic shock to your diaphragm. Its a quick misfire and i have a quick shudder. Scared a few people. My doctor is upset that im still having them. Accused me of not taking them on time. Before the meds, i was having up to 30 a day. If i just have 5 a day on meds, im happy. They suck and hurt a little bit with that sudden jerk. I do get a 1 second warning.

He labels his songs in different ways: Retake = someone else's beats, cover = someone else's entire song, mashup = turning multiple songs (most covers) into nonstop run-on songs. Everything else are his very own, from the beats, to the lyrics, to the last final note. And Busking is where they/he performs. They? Oh ya, he is/was/will be in a band "The Big Push" and another, years ago named "Trick the Fox". By the time I post this you already know about that long ago band.
