You are the best, Dr. Greger! Thank you for the recipe!
Dr.Gregor, I hope you have read the latest research on erythritol by the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute. Bad news. It has been linked to blood clotting, stroke, heart attack and death. Apparently even consuming 30 grams of the substance is harmful. I have been using stevia mixed with Erythritol for the past decade and I have not had
any adverse health effects. Apparently, they would be doing more research on it. Could you please weigh in on this? I love my natural sweetener and this news is really bad news for people like me.
Can you get past airport security with cooked sweet potatoes ?
Have you addressed reports of heavy metals in cocoa powder?
He's the only doctor I know who is not only intelligent but also has an amazing fun loving personality. How could you not smile while watching this? :)
Yes! More Dr. Greger in the kitchen please 🙏💚
Also, more Dr. G dogs in the kitchen too!
Agreed! I wish this was a weekly series.
@@TheBirdyyeses yes!
More Dr. Greger in a chef’s hat.
Yes, I can't wait for the Shawn Baker rewatch over a nice ribeye.
Dr. Greger rocks!
If anyone tells you otherwise, smack them with the sweet potato you keep in your pocket as a hand warmer.
I know Dr Greger is super busy, but he should make these more often. They're the best. Please! 🥺
He’s the most likable person ever
Groatnola is the GOATnola!!
We love Dr Greger!
Cutest sweet man, more please ☺️🫶
I make granola many times per month. I also add one ripe banana as well as what is added here . happy groat Nola everyone 🌱💚🇨🇦
"starchy seed of a non-grass, plant family, umm-ahh-ahh-plant" made me laugh so much for some reason.
I would like to thank whoever edits this.
"Starchy seed of a non-grass, plant-family, umm-ahh-ahh-plant"
How are you doing?
Mountain of respect for this gent.
You Dr. Greger are a light to the World! Thanks for all you do! 🙏
More recipe videos, particularly in Dr. Greger's kitchen, please.
Hello how are you doing
I know Dr. Greger is busy, but I think I speak the majority of us when I say that we figuratively eat these videos up, and that we would love a more regular schedule. Surely Doc. Mikey can pump out one a month, at least? (TIP for the doc.: Shoot four at a time. Release slowly.)
Adorable thumbnail 💚💚💚💚💚
Love Dr. Greger, he reminds me of the mad scientist 🤣😅🙃
A true Hero!
Dr Greger is the man
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!!! Greatest evidence-based video yet! Why? It is educational, healthy, and has sweet potatoes and dogs in it!!!
The kitchen burpees was funny.
After doing the burpees, Dr. Greger can be seen controlling his own laughter in response to the reaction of the video crew.
The added 1:03 ''uhmmmm-ahhhh-ahhh-plant'' subtitles killed me lmao
Love Dr. Greger in the kitchen! Also, whoever did the captioning, editing and formatting: well done! This was the kind of humor we all need along side important information to save our lives! Bravo!
I love my groats!
Do these more!!!
The editing 😂
And humor 😄
Thanks so much, Dr. Greger!
YES! Dr. Greger in the kitchen is my favorite! This is the content I need. So entertaining and helpful!
Looks like you are always following him right
Now I’m just imagining sitting in class and the person next to me pulls out a whole sweet potato
He certainly makes the argument for "I'll have what he's having" I spend way too much on these cereals. I'm inspired!
He’s so cute omg
Te amo, dr. Michael Greger! Gracias por tanto! 💚✨
I am obsessed with this tasty cereal! It’s easy to make, super filling and perfectly wholesome. Thank you so much for this recipe!
Wow that's just wonderful!
I love this man.
Watched this while eating my sweet potato, beans and spinach for lunch! Lol what a coincidence
Love seeing Dr Greger's pups make a cameo in this deliciously helpful video!
My mom says Uncle Sam cereal came out when she was in high school, sort of as a gentle and nutritious statement against the war in Vietnam. Her high School yearbook for 1969 has a photo of her favorite history teacher at his desk holding an American flag in one hand with a box of Uncle Sam cereal in the other. And that was his statement about the war for all of posterity
Great story! ✌️
The dogs 😂
It’s great! Found that 8 cups oatmeal is just right for lumpiness. 8 cups fills 3 oven sheets. 12 would not fit. Cooking the potato in the oven took a long time. Next time may steam it in pressure cooker.
I've had to cut out oatmeal in the morning to bulk up. Eating 4000 cals a day isn't easy... This is a perfect way to make my oatmeal even healthier but keeping the caloric density high. Thank you so much Dr. G! We need more Chef Gregor vids!
Thank you, Dr. Greger!
How are you doing?
Love Dr. Greger in the kitchen videos 🥳
Doc, thank you for the groatnola recipe and for everything you do! Your dogs look very happy - do share more of them when you get a chance. 💚
🐶 Thank you for giving a doggie friendly recipe as well! Please keep these coming for both humans and doggies ❤ great editing also!
Perfect! Thank you Dr. G.
Love this!! Hooray!!! What a star!
M'm'mm', thank you for your long-awaited recipe, I am making your Groatnola soon !! 👍💚 And, YES, your sweet fur-babies are ADORABLE !! 😍🥰😘
More Dr Gregor in the Kitchen videos. Great editing too!
MOAR video recipes Dr Greger!
Your kitchen Sessions are my favourites! Thank you for sharing sugar-free, Real Food recipes. Love them!
My favorite can't-get-enough-of-it breakfast: oats, ground flax & chia, hemp protein powder, nutritional yeast (B12-fortified), granulated kelp (iodine), amla powder, ground cacao & cloves, lion's mane extract powder, mashed dates with cinnamon, cranberries (plain, no-sugar), walnuts, pecans, "golden milk" (turmeric, ginger and a little black pepper cooked in soy milk), blueberries, and saffron.
Thanks for adding your favorite recipe. Sounds delicious. I’m saving that to make next.
@@GeocachingJoy Here's some more detail on the recipe. I pre-mix and freeze the ingredients in bulk quantities, but these amounts are per (large) serving:
dry oats 3/4 cup
pre-mix, dry:
ground flax 1 tbs (omega-3)
ground chia 1 tbs (omega-3)
hemp protein powder 2 tbs
Bragg nutrition yeast 1 tsp (B-12)
Maine Coast granulated kelp 1/10-th tsp (iodine)
amla powder 1 tsp
ground raw cacao 2 tsp
ground cloves 1 tsp
lion's mane extract powder 1 tsp
pre-mix, in ice cubes:
Medjool date (about 2/3) blended with 2/3 tsp cinnamon and soy milk, 1 ice cube
chopped cranberries (plain, no sugar), 1 ice cube
mixed walnuts & pecans 1 heaping handful (at least 1 oz)
golden milk:
1 cup (or more) soy milk
turmeric - 1 tsp powdered or 1 tbs fresh shredded (promotes omega-3 DHA synthesis)
ginger - 1/2 tsp powdered or 1/2 tbs fresh shredded
pinch of black pepper
1 tsp oil/fat (avacado oil or cacao butter etc.)
Make in 8-cup batches, cook dry ingredients and oil in a little soy milk for a few minutes until thickened.
Mix all of the above, microwave in covered bowl for up to 4 min.
Mix in 1/3 cup blueberries and a couple dozen Saffron threads (pre-soaked for a few minutes).
I get bulk ingredients from these sources:
Fresh Meadows cranberries
Terrasoul nuts etc. (Also lookup "A Complete Guide to Soaking Nuts and Seeds" by Kayla Grossmann.)
ok, whoever put this together (editing) is hilarious... very entertaining.... thanks !!!!
Well done editors! What a fun and engaging video. Of course, I love Dr G so I am biased...
I thought some of the overlays were kinda annoying.. I guess to each his own lol
My Grandma baked potatoes every morning and gave my Mom and her brothers two potatoes each to put in their coat pockets to warm their hands on the way to school. She had a very rough childhood and her warm hands and eating the baked potato every day were happy moments for her.
Thank you so much Dr. Greger 😍😍😍😍
I want to do this with a purple yam! Purplenola!
Looks yummy! I also add coconut shreds and goji berries and a bit of chocolate!
Groatnola...sounds like Dr. G! Looks good!
Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of Little House on the Prairie, told of using baked potatoes as hand warmers on her way to school, and then having them for lunch.
Fantastic! Thank you so much Dr. Greger.
Genius!
this guy is just amazing! love this type of recipes!
Thank you for remembering the puppies! ❤🐶🐕🦮🐕🦺❤
Great tip on sweet potato hand warmers for Minnesota!
Yay!! ❤ love it.
Ooh, that looks delicious. I'd love to top off a gooey bowl of oatmeal with that crunchy goodness.
Thank you. ❤
Love love love. The editing made the video even more incredible and funny 💚
Dr. G you’re just too cute!!!! 😂
Great idea!....but I would need some more sweetness to it 😋...I will do this with a little maple syrup mixed in before I bake it...Thanks for showing yourself in the kitchen again, love those types of videos from you!
I believe Dr. Greger would recommend blending some dates and adding that instead!
@@aegisfate117 dates are great 2,...I actually use date or coconut sugar, quite a bit
Nature's Path puffed kamut is a single ingredient cereal. I only use it as a topper on cooked and cooled intact grains, though, since presumably the puffing increasing the absorption rate/glycemic index.
Fun editing on this video!!😂
I think I'd have to go crazy and add a pound of crushed dates in there;)
Hmmm that would be nice
I made it and love it. I love when you get the clusters where you left the skin on the sweet potatoes.
Thank you for this and everything else, Dr. Greger!
I must make this recipe. I would eat this daily!
I like Pumpkin casserole for tea. Peel 6 pounds of pumpkin and remove the seeds. Cut into large pieces and grate on a coarse grater into a large cup. For 4 pounds of grated pumpkin, five hundred grams of wheat flour. Grated pumpkin becomes smaller, about 4 pounds, this amount requires about five hundred grams of wheat flour. Pour the flour into the pumpkin and knead the dough well. Pour one teaspoon of vegetable oil on a baking sheet, smear well with a brush. Put the dough on a baking sheet and bake for about 45 minutes at a temperature of 220 degrees Celsius. Leave to cool in the oven, then cut into pieces of 100 grams and freeze. When the casserole is needed, preheat it in the microwave. You can also do it with zucchini.
But don't forget to eat the seeds, they taste so good and unshelled pumpkin seeds are much higher in fiber, minierals and vitamins than other common eating seeds.
@@phillippinter7518 The shell of pumpkin seeds can not be eaten, it is too coarse and will irritate the intestines. I don't eat the seeds of this pumpkin because there is almost nothing in them. When I remove the shell, the seeds are almost empty inside. For pumpkin seeds, special varieties of pumpkin are probably used.
@Lux L I've been eating seeds from pretty much any pumpkin or squash I cut open and eat for years (butternut, delecata, kabocha, sweet pumpkins, kuri squash, spaghetti squash, jack-o-lantern, ect.) even the seeds with "nothing inside" so my mom says as well, and in my years of studying nutrition I've never come across these claims about the shell of pumpkin seeds or only certain varieties being edible.
I do wanna make this next weekend
I'm making this now with just oats, cinnamon and sweet potatoes
Amazing video! Love the editing. Thank you for your work doctor
Sounds yummy can't wait to make it.
We made this over the weekend and it is SO GOOD!!! we sprinkle a quarter cup on top of our oatmeal with berries for an extra crunch.
How would you store this? I suspect the baking dries it all out enough that it doesn't need refrigeration, but it would be nice to include that. Love buckwheat and sweet potato, thank you!
I believe he said he treats it like regular cold cereal and it lasts a long time. To me, that is saying it is shelf stable. I would probably add a (sealed!) package of silica in the bottom of the storage container to maintain its crunch. I save the ones that come in other food products.
I think he's every every good
I’m thinking shelf stable but will use vacuum sealed quart jars I think. 12 cups of oats goes a long way with a household of 2
Te quiero mucho Dr. Greger n.n
My mom did the same thing in Maine growing up. Baked potatoes in pockets to walk to school, then eat them for lunch.
Recipe looks delicious and easy! Thank you! 😊
How're you doing today
Wow. I just made them, and though I didn‘t try them yet, they really don‘t look any different to your normal store-bought granola. Okay, I lied. They look way better, and I am already looking forward to breakfast tomorrow!
(I got my hands on violet sweet potatoes today, so I bought some for the groatnola).
Mr editor killed it
You’re the very best! Thank you for this recipe. I have both cookbooks from you but the way. ❤thank you for enhancing my life with them.
🎉love love love this video!!!
I found this very entertaining! Oh, the recipe is good too 😂
i love whomever edited this lol
I’m cooking groats right now!
Thanks. 😊
Absolutely more Dr Greger in the kitchen!😊
