As a Knights supporter 1m a year for 5 years,Kalyn isn't in the top 4 fullbacks in the game, Tedesco,turbo,lattrel and papenhuyzen, let alone, top 10 players in the game. That's a lot of money for a good fullback certainly not a great fullback.
Put him in any of those colours from roosters to storm and he definitely is a top tier fullback. Thereâs 17 jerseys on the field and 30 on the roster. Knights just havenât been able to find talent in enough key positions. Iâm not saying what he is worth but I disagree that he is not a great fullback.

I will say that we have seen big money comes big attention. The attention that DCE got for years, the attention Brooks gets, the attention Fafita gets. Hope the Dude can get a Premiership for Newcastle! Maybe a couple of players to be added to get the Knights across the line. When I stayed in Cardiff (up by Newcastle) loyal Knights fans were hanging out for a Premiership, but some of the hard working Knights fans I knew have passed on. Hopefully soon.

All this contract crap, the nrl should make october 31 to February 28th the only time for players to talk about contracts and for players to change clubs. No mid season players switching to other clubs. Let the game just be played.
Then more deals will be done in secrecy plus the time you want players to do all of that is when they have time off or are preparing for the new season so all of a sudden players aren't allowed to relax on their holidays because they have to negotiate and on top of all that players have families to look after and potentially move so you want a player like Ponga thats in Newcastle to negotiate in Oct to Feb then sell the house they're in or get out of the lease and buy another house or organise another rental in QLD all in that time frame what if his house doesn't sell ? what if he has kids they'd still have school to attend in Oct and he'd have to organise a new school etc maybe he has pets
What about clubs trying to plan for here and now as well as the future a player they've targeted has some of the issues above and negotiations go until xmas when he decides to stay at his club so then they have 2 months to identify the next guy they want negotiate a deal hopefully get it done and then that player has a month at best to move before the start of the season and thats without bringing up that most clubs are back at training before Xmas
End of season trade window is not viable sounds easy for you just make a decision but thats not the reality the media is only pushing it because they struggle to come up with stories at the best of the time let alone in the off season
But with all that said I will put one positive it'd take a bit of the focus away from the players misbehaving in the offseason
