I had a pair of 315’s and even though they were loud I returned them in a few days because I didn’t want to risk having tweeters blow. I’ve since purchased the 415’s and I hope Alto has resolved those failures. We will see. Great video.

Awesome job! I appreciate that you went through it totally from start to finish instead of others doing you start here then 30 seconds later it's all apart. I got 4 of these speakers and only tested 3 but all have tweeter problems. Break out the meter and hope that's all with them. Well, out of the 4, 2 of them had the tweeter missing entirely and the other two did fail on the meter. I got them out easy enough. One trick I used this morning was with the black gunk on the screws, I hit them with a hot air gun for about 5 seconds at 200 degrees and pushed the phillips screwdriver in and came right out with no need for scraping. Once the screw is out, you can keep hitting it with the hot air gun and it'll curl right up and easy to come off.

I had never considered that approach with the hot air. Great idea which I think I'll have to try out sometime. My only concern would be if the plastic was deformed as a result of the heat but in a short spell you'd get away with it I'd imagine. Glad to be of assistance though!

Iv just whipped out the celestion drivers in my Yamaha's and popped them in my new Alto ts412s! Alto now use redcatt drivers which are not half bad but the HF drivers start screaming when pushed and I'm having to back off the high frequencies quite a bit at gigs.
    Now they sound much smoother!

What drivers did you use to replace the ts412 compression drivers? Do you have a link to the product?

Generally I purchase from wherever has the best price at the time. Just do a Google search and check out who's got a good deal going.
I think I bought these replacements from an eBay seller.
