It`s really sweet to see how kind and pride she is showing her collection, it`s always something nice to see someone talking about what they`re passionate about. I also loved what she said about having games for kids to play. I was 4 or 5 when i met an old miniature cars collector who lived in my building and he was really wholesome to let me play with them and even gave me one to keep. I think he died a few years later but here i`m still talking about him. Thanks for sharing your collection with the community :)

There's a lot of gaming history in this collection that would of been forgotten if not for her. Amazing.

Yeah. There are alot of knick knack games and peripherals that no one know it exist in there. She should showcase this as a mini museum for kids, adults and gamers. Perhaps she should be the orator of how she got each devices and maybe of the history behind it

This collection is a national treasure. Unlike conventional games where you can make a digital copy of the ROM, you can't make copies of these handheld games.

That's a very impressive collection of game consoles and LCD games that she has. Linda truly has a passionate love for games and it clearly shows in leaps and bounds with what she has collected over the years. My heart goes out to her and her family with the passing of her husband.

I've never saw a more beautiful thing. When I was a kid : I wanted my own arcade of those Coleco mini arcade machines.
Saved my money and got mine on my 13th birthday at Meijers on Carpenter Rd in Ypsilanti Michigan. Pacman. Remember it like was yesterday.

That's a truly amazing collection. Today it is close to impossible to build up something like that since games are rare to find and very expensive.

This is the greatest thing I've ever watched. I've never seen someone with such a committed collection as this describe their super nerdy hobby in such non-nerdy terms. She's basically like "hey, here's a game. Let's play it. Yep, that's a game." She's amazing, this collection is amazing, and I think my faith in humanity was wholly renewed after viewing this.

My gosh. I just saw this and i think we spoke online about bidding on ebay in the middle of the night on ebay in the early 2000s. I remember you mentioning you were an engineer, and as one 9f the few female hardcore collectors.

Sorry for her loss. This looks like a really interesting collection. I collect mostly console games, and a lot of these were just before my time. The aesthetic on them is really nostalgic still though.

There's a lot to be impressed with here. Because when you consider the socio economic factors that make it more difficult for women, and minorities to have both the time and money to afford massive collections. (Women are expected to be care givers, "the pink" tax, the extra cost of making a black woman meet white standards in an office environment etc etc.) She no doubt overcame a lot of hurtles to get to this collection, and I'm impressed too.

Kotaku brought this to my attention, but their comment section is a trash fest of barely literate and toxic white male edge lords complaining about race. In comparison, the comment section here is so refreshing. Nothing but love for this woman and her passion for collecting and repairing these systems and sharing the wealth, so to speak, by teaching children about our gaming history. It's always so heartwarming to see stories like these of people whose passions grew from curiosity and turned into something educational and charitable, and I wanted to express my condolences for the passing of her husband, who I can imagine must've been immensely proud of her. Steve, thank you. That's another one of the games we use for our competitions. The controller on it just glides. So much better than the clunky ones or ones that stick. Great game.
@@lindaguillory7802 yes the controls were great, Linda. i especially loved the different stages. at the time i got it in 1981 or 1982 that seemed so unique for an electronic game. the only one I held onto all these years is my Mattel Battlestar Galactica game. Still take it out every now and then and play it.
