My coach hates Steve Dangle because of the sheer amount of popcorn this man makes me consume
Honestly, one takers might have to be a regular thing and not just when the leafs lose. The energy is amazing
That defeats the purity of it
What do you mean?
@@red3here there are no cuts in the video, steve just hits record and rants for 20 minutes uninterrupted. hence the one take, bc he’s not re-recording anything it’s all raw. 😂
Yes! If only for the absence of jump cuts (which feel very 2010).
Looks like Leafs Trauma is back on the menu, boys
I'll order the first round...
That'll be $60 per lost game during the playoffs on Sports bet or most likely more lmao.
We've had nothing but maggoty losses for 56 stinking years!
@@saskk2290yeah! Why can we get some chips?
@@MeatMi1k What about them? they're fresh! "Leafs fans look at the first round of the playoffs"
As a Bruins fan (who watched all those amazing Boston-Toronto playoff match-ups), this year's Leafs look like they could beat us in the playoffs. I would be so excited to see this match up in the playoffs, and I wish one of our bitter rivals luck because this ongoing war is so fun to watch. And may the best team win
Go BRUINS
You just knew Boston was gonna score when JT made that soft pass, you just knew.....
Tavares wasn't very good last night. Victimized on Bergeron and Gryz goals.
He has lost some quickness (never had speed).
@@KMK7355 Agreed! He can be a beast net front, and occasionally dangles an unreal highlight goal, but never been a speedster and getting slower now.
I’ve watched you for years and I gotta say this feels like the cathartic kind of therapy that has kept you a Leafs fan over the years.
Our highest paid defenceman has 0 goals and is the only minus player among the Leafs defencemen..
You said it, highest paid, far from the best...I wish he learned how to play his position and he rarely gets any blame for anything. He gives fits to everyone who plays with him because he thinks he's Scott Niedermayer.
Our best real defenseman is Giordano and its not even close and he gets paid the least!
Man, I start looking forward to these when I see the Leafs coming up on the schedule lol. Hope we meet you guys in the playoffs again. It's always amazing hockey.
I live in Rhode Island, right next to Massachusetts, and I think I found Linus' stick on my front porch, man what a throw lol
When the name Bergeron is screamed by an announcer, after a goal…consumption of Prozac quadruples, in Ontario😂
just browsing and found Steve....wow, WHAT ENERGY...LOVE IT....btw..I'm a Bruins fan who went to Toronto on my honeymoon in 1974 to see the B's and Leafs for a playoff game (we won thank you Bobby Orr)
Lifetime Bruins fan here Steve. I love watching your takes.. watched last nights game and your Maple Leafs are Good! I’m sure these two teams will meet in the playoffs and I’ll be very nervous. Keep up the good work buddy
They can't meet in the Playoffs, Bruins play a Wild Card and TML play the Lightning.
@@isaacfernandes560 They could meet in the 2nd round
@@chrispoli1631 yeah... like this team can beat the Lightning! lol this year they don't even make it to 7, Tampa Bay in 6.
@@isaacfernandes560 Tampa is weaker this year honestly, I think you guys can beat them. We’ve had our misfortune with Tampa but this year we are 2-0 against Vasy which isn’t typical. Leafs can beat the bolts!
Bruins fan here too. I’m definitely more afraid of Toronto than I am Tampa. I was amazed watching that game the other night at how quick the Leafs were just moving the puck especially in the offensive zone. I noticed the Bruins D men chasing at times and if not for the heroics of Ullmark it most likely would have turned out differently. There is something different about this Toronto team that I didn’t see in past teams. Going to get real interesting here soon..
I woke up and sat down with a cup of coffee and watched this. I feel like I'm getting yelled at by my dad for something -- and realizing he's legitimately right to be yelling at me. My coffee is like: "Dude, what'd you do!?"
Steve ranting about the Bruins will never NOT be entertaining to watch even as a loyal Bruins fan myself.
Absolutely
Especially as a bruins fan lol
It’s the most concerning thing about this team. Their lack of killer instinct.
You really think that?
That's not my takeaway from this game. Simply do better in protecting the puck late in the game, especially when you have a chance to earn a vital point
Leafs are soft
@@Mlchael839
One thing is that the Leafs really do lack that killer instinct and air of superiority where other teams should be afraid of THEM and not always the other way around. If the Leafs all had the passion and fire of Bunting for every game then perhaps more teams would legit be afraid of facing the Leafs.
The other thing the Leafs have lacked for a long time is clutch scoring. Sure they come through every once and a while, but more often than not when they're down in a game especially in the playoffs, the Leafs being able to come back to tie things up is more a surprise rather than something that's normal.
If the Leafs want to go somewhere in the playoffs they definitely need an attitude change and perhaps it would be nice if they could trade for a clutch scorer to help the team out.
It's about willpower - having the will to make the clutch plays when needed and not constantly be the victims of clutch plays; the winning attitude. Leafs are overflowing with talent that knows how to play...but not how to "WIN".
Always entertaining and enjoyable, thanks Steve.
"Well, the Leafs lose 4-3 to the Boston Bruins... but at least it was close!"
"What year is it?"
As a Kings fan, watching Leafs fans respond to this with the five hundred mile stare of agonizing memories is justified. *Very justified.*
Steve is what u call "the overly dramatic Leaf fan"
@@J.CashDromost leafs “fans” are like potassium in that they are overreactive

Great job on this one. 👏
I know it's a terrible thing to say but I enjoy seeing you express your frustration. It's kind of how I feel about several Canadian based teams not named Toronto or Vancouver that I like. It seems like the primary purpose of their owners is to make certain that the Cup never comes north of the border ever again.
Thank you for acknowledging the Bunting situation.
I love this channel because Steve is the truest fan of them all. Dude doesn’t even realize he says the same things every year yet brings the same passion every time
He even says it's like a dog eating the same meal every day and thinking it's delicious haha
This is why the leafs are cancer
It’s a living. Leafs nation are keeping this man’s economy going.
Hard to argue any of the points. The bolts and the bruins are a nightmare to play against. That being said, can we talk about Reilly and maybe decreasing his TOI?! Cause holy he is brutal.
Been watching you since the beginning and to me this is the best video you have ever posted. Thanks for seeing the forest from the trees, not afraid to really talk about what hurts, what truly matters, always with your heart, no matter what, thank you Steve.
Brilliant take Steve.
your content is great man keep it up I'm a leaf's fan and my dad who is a habs fan showed me one of your videos and I have been hooked ever sense.
great content steve. you are spot on.
I've been watching your games reviews for a couple of months. This is by FAR the BEST rant/review!! You expressed the legitimate suppressed frustration that 9 out of 10 lifelong Leafs fans have felt for years (hey I go back to '67 Cup). Keefe, if not the whole team, should watch this rant! Thank you! Thank you Steve!
These unedited one-offs highlight your brilliance. Kudos, mister.
_tampa v boston_ should be a *heck* of a round 2.
Them’s fightin words XD
Great episode Steve …
Bruins fan here, and I know you don’t hear something like this from Bs fans very often, but I gotta give the Leafs props for that game. This was a heavyweight bout where they just whale on each other for 12 rounds. And the bruins managed to land that one final blow. Believe me, Bs players have respect after this one, you’ve got an excellent team there.
Honestly I felt the same way about the game and maybe they'll meet............ in the second round. Fkn atlantic division lol
I'm only here now since I heard on the podcast Steve did a one taker.
Also a B's fan, that was probably cover to cover the most entertaining game of the season so far.
I was waiting specifically for this one Steve, didn’t disappoint 😂. But overall great game last night, maybe we will meet the Leafs at some point in the playoffs
Thanks Mr Dangle 👍
As a huge bruins fan first time to channel. Your great ty for the entertainment. Bruins are truly a great team. As we all know once the playoffs start anyone can win it.
LETS GO BRUINS BABY!!!!! I LOVE THIS FUCKEN TEAM 💪
Anyone can win it...except for the Leafs who are cursed.
Bruins are "great" as long as Linus plays at Tim Thomas levels. If he slips to between current level and Swayman they aren't great.
In fact TB or Toronto will be a steep challenge as would Carolina.
@@KMK7355 yup. Tuka Rask great goalie. Playoffs couldn't win the big games. Bruins to me this year is the best year they have to win lt. Next year could be looking at Bergeron retired possibly Pasternak with another team if they don't sign him and Marchand is up there in age. Jmho
Thanks for firing up my Sunday morning!
It doesn't seem to matter who wears the suits and jerseys, that evolution from goodness to greatness forever seems to be the most elusive for our boys in blue. Hopes and dreams. Go Leafs Go!
Thank you
Dark, evil magic! 😂😂😂😂It was still a great game, Steve!
And Bergeron knocked Ullmark’s stick out. All angles you see that. He didn’t throw it.
Riley isn't strong enough in his own end in the regular season no wonder he struggles in the post season
Jt miller of defencemen
Kaberle might legitimately be the worst player on that 2011 team 😂 I really had to think on that 1 and it's not like he was bad.
Kaberle was so trash it was funny. I stg everytime dude got the puck in the d zone he’d just shoot it up the middle and turn it over. I can’t tell you how many goals were his fault. Bruins won the cup in spite of him😭😭😭
Oh we're just going to ignore that in 2011 the Leafs iced half a team of plugs and our top defenseman at the time is getting this type of treatment lmao
@@pethcir trust me he was our worst defenseman. woulda been better off with a pylon out there at times. but we still got the cup so I couldn't care less.
@@thesweetermonster3453 did you not see Aki Berg play?
Reilly needs to hit the Press box for a bit. He's been shocking on the defensive side of the puck.
Love ya SD.
Honestly after this game I was just like "welp if the Leafs beat Tampa I'll count the season a win." The Bruins CapFriendly just isn't fair.
One of your best videos. You hit the nail on the head. There is one small correction however, Steve. The Boston Bruins will probably never know the true greatness of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The leafs won 13 Stanley cups. The current roster needs to channel their inner leaf. They need to play like the likes of Dave Keon, Bobby Baun, Tim Horton or Johnny Bower. True greatness has a name Steve. It is called the Toronto Maple Leafs. Keep up the good work. Really enjoy your videos
After watching my beloved Seahawks take an absolute hosing in San Francisco, I was hopeful that my also-beloved Leafs might make the evening a bit brighter...but deep down, I knew what to expect. This team is honestly a heartbreaker so often, you start to question why you put yourself through this every single year. Steve, you take what a lot of us are feeling, amp the production up 5 fold, and put it out there for the world to consume. You are the voice of an entire fanbase, and we love you for it.
How bout them Chargers though 💀
@@MrKyleMcQueen Dude, I was just kinda score watching before the half and said "27-0?? Wow, poor Jags fans..." and passed out on the couch. Wake up and see Tony Khan congratulating the team and was BLOWN AWAY. Wild.
Damn.. you need to get your own tv or radio show…. Love this content..(and I’m a life long B’s fan)!!!
He has a podcast called the Steve Dangle podcast, or SDP for short. I’m also a life long Bs fan and listen regularly
Here we go
Tuned into this game for about 3min in the 1st and watched that Reilly turnover, rough night man 🍻
Didn’t see the game in the states due to NHL network licensing but your message is completely accurate.
Motivated to face my IRL monsters - thank you sir
‘Spot on!
It was Kaberle, by far the worst player on the 2011 Bruins. Ironically was a Leaf
Lol
Kaberle had a better defensive impact on the 2011 Bruins than Chara I think
More offensive impact , Kaberle led the d in assists and points with 11 , tied for second on the whole team in assists for their cup run
That entire sequence from 15:40-16:15 killed me 😂😂😂😂
Was a great game. Matthews goal was ridiculous. Still, Bruins are sick this year. Just hope for health in the playoffs.
"Don't just be good. Don't even be great. Be the Best!" - This literally gave me energy Steve. Get this on a T-Shirt man. You are such a Beauty.
I like how you find the words to say what a lot of Leaf fans are thinking, sadly, these words are true. 😓
AWWWWWWWW HERE IT GOES.
Ironically enough, in 2011 I’d say the worst Bruin was Tomas Kaberle
Tied for most points by a dman for their cup run that year...
@@codylemieux4510Go back and watch him play. He was a turnover machine. By far and large the worst player on that team
"This is a rant that doesn't have an end goal, other than to vent frustration, and hopefully I channeled some of that for you." Yes, and all in an 18:52-minute one take of raw, visceral, and unscripted ranting that's cathartic for any Leafs fan to listen to
Steve sounded like Brother Love a bit with the rant at the end. LOL
Good win Bruins! i still love LFR even when the Leafs win lol. Just good humor is what steve is lol. I thought you guys were going to pull it off
GOATed 1 takes, tbh
"There's A Giant Ham" in every Leafs loss!
What vid was that originally from?
Once again Steve is spot on. The Leafs need to aquire swagger.
With being only a few months removed from the Evander Kane slit arm, players intentionally kicking each other with knife boots is not something to take lightly.
Weirdly the leafs do have a winning record vs boston the past 10 years 19 15 3 so goes to show how close the two teams are. That being said they have beat us when it mattered though hopefully that changes this spring!!
You need to worry about TB first.
@@KMK7355 oh 100%
Steve, if you look at the replay on the Ullmark stick toss you will see Bergeron skate in with his stick waist-high. It looks like his stick hit Ullmarks and knocked it out of his hand.
Bunting I don't think will get anything but a stern warning.
100% agree on the "Get over the hump" This core has to humble themselves and learn or the team will never learn how to play in playoffs with that extra gear. They think they are just good enough as they are.
putting Timmins with Rielly against the Bruins for the first time was such a braindead lineup move from Keefe
If there's ever a year where dubas goes all in at the deadline, this is the year
Leafs with another classic
"And the leafs have been getting LESSONS in there greatness over and over and over again."
Why does that sound like abuse...like...
Because to us fans, it is a form of abuse. Lol
Self-inflicted.
There is nothing wrong with the playoff structure so fans can't complain that it's unfair. If the season ended today, the Leafs (4th place team) would play Tampa Bay (10th place team). Nothing wrong with this. There are no bad teams in the playoffs and you need to beat every team that you face. You don't get to choose your opponent.
Steve, please do more one takers the night of.
Series score 1-1 could of gone either way.
At least there wasn't a multi goal lead in this one
100% on Steve
The Leafs are a great regular season team. Let's not forget that.
Crazy they’ve been a good regular season team for like 7 years now 😅
Who when?
Great? They're average at best.
@@isaacfernandes560 they are great regular season teams. In terms of winning percentage since keefe took over they are near the top in winning percentage. That’s a fact. They also choke every year which is also a fact and as a fan of the team I expect no different result this year
Well said, and yes it should have been a stick throwing penalty :). But the giveaways were the real story.
Can't always win can't always lose. play hard and the better team will prevail
The deepest LFR video
Boston is a great team because they have solid depth. 1st liners take up less cap space. Individually, Leafs have great players but hockey is a team sport.
One Young Man from Charlestown, MA
Some games its not about who is best but who made the least mistakes!
Harold Ballard " Why should I put a bunch of Cadillacs on the ice , when I can sell out with a bunch of volkswagens " .
As a diehard Bruins fan I absolutely hate the Leafs - but as a hockey fan, boy do I love Steve Dangle.
It’s not that we lost or that it was to Boston it was both of those and the fact it was with a minute left. Couldn’t even lose in OT.
I've been watching Steve's videos for a few years and it often seems like the Leafs' fortunes are the same team every year (btw, great video Steve, comparing the good to the great). The question is: How is this Leafs team so different as to make a change in their playoff fortunes?
As a bruins fan I am very happy
Yeah, I know this doesn’t happen in a bubble for you Leaf’s fans, and I am happy my team won. But, I like the midterm analogy, there is a lot to potentially learn from a likely roadblock in the playoffs, and honestly…. Can’t shake the Bruins pessimism, a Presidents trophy team has not won it all for 10 years, and a great regular season doesn’t always mean a great post season, and sometimes it’s the just less than great team in the regular season that becomes magic in April. I don’t know, anything is possible, but any way you slice it, I hope somehow we do see each other in the playoffs-not just because it would be a great series and I get to watch LFRs after, but because win my team wins obv, but lose and we get to see a historically great franchise overcome incredible demons and rise to a level they haven’t in decades, and, it’s time, and that’s a story I think most people can get behind. 1967 was too long ago, I’d honest to god like to see the Leafs show their fans something more. I’ll never root against my team, but, I’d tip my cap if it was to you guys. It’s time.
Ahh need to catch the bruins
One more side note. Bruins are without a 1st line winger in Jake DeBrusk right now. When he's there, players are slotted where they should be and good luck to any team out there dealing with Taylor Hall as a 3rd line winger putting up close to 60-70 points this year.
First off Hall is not close to a 70 point pace.
Secondly Leafs were missing Muzzin so Pastrnak goal never happens.
Third Forbort is worst dmen of both teams when everyone is healthy.
Incidentally I am a Bruins fan but lets be accurate about things.
As a Tampa fan. Nothing mattered til we won after the Columbus series. It was a game 7 ECF loss to the penguins and caps. But nothing mattered. I cannot imagine being a leafs fan
This bs got play tampa again in first round prb. Got change playoffs back
Do the lightning actually have fans in the Tampa Bay area? I remember talking to like 10 people from Tampa last year, we discussed sports and I brought up Steven Stamkos. No one seemed to know who I was talking about
how you get away throwing your stick???
We must have watched a different game lol the leafs got filled in this game .. they did capitalize on their chances .. Matt Murray played unreal
Serve you right to suffer serve you right, came close ,better luck next year
You Da'Man Steve ... Go B's
so true Ive been a fan of the leafs for fifty years plus and it has always been the same. as we haven't won. we can be good entertaining and sometimes have great players but we haven't WON. its very difficult to enjoy hockey when most of the time watching im waiting for the fall I hope to see it before I die. But I might not be able to watch without a difibulator.
Steve , very valid points
Don't have enough cards in the deck, and what is in the deck? Well, shuffle better or ask for a new deck of cards
What is wrong with Reilly since he came back. I don’t get it.
I love Steve's comment about guys getting sick, or hurt, and the games start at 7. It's the only thing that scares me this year as a B's fan. They're playing like machines. But it takes 100 games, and that's long enough for even machines to break down. I hope their conditioning and next man up ethos is enough.
Great game, great analysis.
