That 50C could power a whole system. When I was in HS I worked at a stereo shop and helped install a 50c in a caddy with 4 mids, 4 tweeters and 2 15's LP series free air. That thing sounded so good. One of the cleanest sounding old school systems I ever heard.
I absolutly love your collection. I have recently started falling in love with lanzar because off the lanzar optidrive 1222d subwoofer aluminum cone. This sub has a massive surround and sounds so clean and amazing. My collection is only about 50 amps deep but i love them all and take great care off them. But saw your video and you have to make more vids please i beg you want to see more off your collection.
He actually just picked up some new and rare old school Lanzar gear. It's mind blowing rare. Next time I see him we will be doing a video. Thanks for watching
For sure. Plenty more where this came from. I got a pair of new in box old school subs that just got delivered today that I'll be doing a video on soon but Keith has so many awesome old school pieces that we won't run out of old school gear to talk about anytime soon. Thanks for watching.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of his collection. I know you love the old school so stay tuned because this was just a warm up. Thanks for watching.
Just wait until he pulls out his entire PPI collection. Tons of art, pro mos, m, Sadona, and sound processors galore. He has a lot new in box. It's really something to behold. I got the two JL 18w6's from him. Super nice guy and he knows what he is talking about.
I have 2 Lanzar Pro 10's, an Opti 50 and Opti 100 along with Phoenix Gold EQ215x and Image Dynamics Horn Drivers and Mid Bass All from 1995. 0-150w. If anyone wants it.. been in storage for last 20 years. Was Queensland Australia IAASCA sound quality champion if anyone is keen :)
He has one new in the box! It really is a passion for him. You should definitely have him on as a guest. I don't really have an hour and a half of interesting information but he is a PPI wizard. Just a really good guy that knows what he is talking about and is a wealth of knowledge on the old school gear. The thing that's so cool about him is that he scours the internet for deals but passes them on to others. He could make way more money off of this stuff but he is a straight shooter that makes a few bucks by making it a deal for you and him. The type of person that makes this hobby worth while.
I believe Gary Kovener of Kove audio designed those optidrive amps. I have an old Lanzar 500 that is made by Zed. Board is identical to a Rodek 2300e.very similar to the 7 Zeus but with smaller rail caps. Crazy how small the transformers are in the 500 and 50c are. The reason for this is by law the faster the switching frequency the smaller the transformer, they switched about 50% faster than most car amps. These optidrive amps are stiffly regulated using the 3525 pwm just like ppi used. Actually their name is derived from the design of their power supply, optically isolated before the recs.
It's such an oddity. He sent me a picture when he bought it. I had no idea they even made a comp cast. Then within a week some guy put a 12" comp cast on eBay. Like Keith said there is almost no information about the comp cast. Like most of his personal collection it's a rare piece. His PPI is very comprehensive but he has some very rare amps from them as well. The first time I met him he had a 500ix, a 2300am, and art 1200.2 on the mantle. This time it was 2 full art 300's flanked by 2 600.2's. I'm like a kid in a candy store checking out his collection. His Pyle collection is going to turn some head's. That's right I said Pyle. They were pioneer's in the old school game and he knows the whole story of Pyle so I think it will be a entertaining and informative video.
Very nice old school Lanzar! That stuff there will shake the mirror right off your windshield.. I have four 12" Lanzar Pro Plus subs, one of them is brand new in the box. But, there is no spec sheet with any of them. I've been wanting to build a box for a single, but I can't find any info for the Pro Plus series anywhere. If someone knows what the specs are for the 12s or where I could find them? I would be grateful!
The c15c's are some amazing drivers. I have yet to find a driver series that beat the original kicker subs for value. They are cheap accurate durable drivers.
I had 4 12in in a fifth order bandpass box just a small hole in center of box took half the bed on my 91 Nissan hard body camper no rear window all lanzar hit hard ppl still ask about that truck 🛻 I still have the amps and 6.5 components took off before I sold truck kid didn’t fit anymore
You and me both. He has been collecting for a very long time. It would make you sick to find out how cheap he gets this stuff. He sells on Ebay and passes the savings on to the buyers. Actually how I met Keith. Super nice guy.
Sure do. Keith has a guy that he has used several times with good success. If you have considered doing it yourself I would recommend texasound on CZcams. I have learned more about speakers from that guy than anyone else. I don't know if he does car audio but If I was going to send out a refoam it would be to him. It's actually a very easy process when you know the pit falls and what to do. I will check with Keith to see if his guy can do that model but I've refoamed my own with great success. It's just time consuming.
Thanks for the reply, I’d appreciate anymore info on the guy that your buddy uses so I can get them re-foamed. I was running them in my truck but I started to notice a small crack at the base of the surround where it meets the cone so I decided to take them out and get them re-foamed and I’ve contacted many people and companies and they either haven’t answered or haven’t been able to do it. So I really appreciate the help
@@tylercope29 So I checked with Keith and he is pretty sure his guy can do it but Keith was thinking that the shipping cost may be high depending on where you are shipping them from. He estimated around $30-$35 per sub on top of shipping cost. The name of the place is the speaker workshop and is located in Fort Wayne Indiana. I've seen work he has done and my 18w6's were done by them. Top notch work. If cost is an issue maybe Springfield Speaker or Simply Speakers would be more cost effective. They all have an excellent reputation. I hope I've helped. I could do it for you but I've only re foamed a few sets of speakers and they were all my own. I would hate to damage something that can't be replaced. Super rare subs.
Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it. I’ll have to check shipping costs from my area and hopefully I can get them sent out and re-foamed, they were one of the best sounding subs I’ve heard so I’d like to get them playing again

O Man!!! Lanzar brings back a ton of memories from mid to late 90s!! Wow nice collection!!
The old school Lanzar gear stands out. Absolutely the most over built brand on the market.

Woow very nice collection right there 🔥👍🏼
One of my best subs I've ever owned were 10" Lanzar from 1994. Put them in a bandpass box and holy cow!
No school like the old school. They could make subs like that today but sadly they don't. Thanks for watching!
Sweet bass action brother i didnt think there was any old school Lanzar around anymore. Thanks for uploading this video
This is just the tip of the iceberg of his collection. I know you love the old school so stay tuned because this was just a warm up. Thanks for watching.
Cool gear. Lots of very hard to find goodies in that collection. Thanks for the tour. Grab me some black PPI ProMos/AM/M amps!!!

@@brentb5303 sure let me open up the boxes and get some pictures for you.
Sweet collection! That 50c was one of the very few amps to be rated .5ohm mono back in the day... The Planet Audio P225hc was another

Very cool! I was hoping to see some old-logo Lanzar stuff. (Mosfet 50, Mosfet-100, etc.)

Ahhhhh lanzar who doesn’t know about this amp are missing out
Epic collection, thanks for sharing! What are your thoughts on the LXR series by Lanzar?
That Kicker comp looks kinda like a gen 2 XPL basket

It is. His collection is even larger now. He has added some awesome pieces that I will do a video on next time I get down near his neck of the woods.
I have two 15 in kicker comps but they're not the cast version just 15c and 750w rms they're badass and in mint cond
