This is amazing, wish I had a close knit of friends that are into this to play with.
I love fallout and minis so this is perfect
After watching your let's play series on this I would really like to see more.
I feel modiphius has not done as polished a job as you do with showing the game off.
Natural talent I suppose.
So true they can really work on that, then again lots of people did it on their own so I doubt they will put in the effort to go back and make it better.
Thank you for this video! I saw the book at a local game shop and was hoping to find a good chapter-by-chapter video review for it.
Thank you for this you seem as excited as I am for this. I hope you write and share some new campaigns for this like you did for frostgrave.
Hahahhah! Have you noticed the remarkable resemblance between Vault Boy and Rich Uncle Pennybags (Monopoly)? I know - left field.
Great review Ash! Funny thing I just ran a game before I watched your video.
Finally it's only taken over 20 years but they addaped Fallout into a true Tabletop RPG. I'm waiting for the New Vegas expansion though so I can finally play Fallout 1&2 in tabletop form and not the crapy Bethesda ones. Give me West Coast Fallout over East Coast any day of the week. You got the lore spot on by the way
I was thinking the same thing, but TBH I think this would work well with a homebrew setting too.
@jack vile 3 was awesome and my entry point into Fallout but it has a boring plot line. And I'd be writing for hours if I were to explain what's wrong with 4, days for 76. All I can do is say Bethesda don't understand what Fallout is about. TK-Mantis can explain it better than I can.
@jack vile czcams.com/video/M8U4k2Ik6yk/video.html this video pretty much explains why Bethesda Fallout isn't as good as Interplay/ Obsidian Fallout
@jack vile you obviously didn't listen to what I said did you. I COULD sit here and write paragraphs but I'm not going to so to save time I sent you a link so something the would give you the gist of my point but whatever you say pal go be salty somewhere else. The fact that you didn't even watch the video shows how closed minded you really are.
@jack vilelmfao you're sitting there with your Holier Than Thou attitude when you haven't even provided any kind of rebuttal for Bethesda yet. All you've done is stubbornly refuse to accept another opinion which is rather juvenile. I'm wrong because you say so. My opinion may be unpopular because I prefer classic Fallout but at least I've provided one
Glad that it's so close to the miniatures game. I was expecting it to be a 2D20 game like the other RPGs from Modiphius.
You already have the Raiders? I didn't preorder them, so I'm waiting for them to be available in stores :)
I believe they have a future 2d20 planned in the future for Fallout. Honestly after playing 2d20's i kinda like this more.
I know this is a bit late, but is this book ALSO a rulebook for the regular game, or do you still need/want the 2p starter set rules and booklets?
Thanks for video Ash!
How different is this than the full fallout rpg by modiphius? I'm not sure which to dive into.
War never changes....
Does every copy come with the download code or is this just from buying direct from them? If every copy does have the code, this is very cool.
Awesome
At the very start of the video i thought you were sat next a giant version of the fallout book
Wait, is it not standalone? I can play without the WW coreset right?
so... do i NEED the miniture skirmish game (not a fan of that kind of games) to play this ???
Nope! But all those kits will add this game as the cards are compatible :)
Would you rather have an IPad or Pip-Boy?
Somewhat related but do you/can you think of any company that's creating models based on New Vegas? I'd give my left nut for a NCR Veteran Ranger or Caesars Legion
World End Publishing have minis that look based on the NCR Rangers, they're a part of their This is Not a Test range.
Orangecrowbarman Brother Vinni does Vet Rangers
Thanks for doing this. It could be a little helpful if you could slow down your speech it’s just tricky to follow sometimes
Are the rules of play different they the FOWW? Might have to pickup the book
No the same bud
That’s impossible, Ash. No Brotherhood of Steel character was likable. Well, except for Veronica Santangelo. 😜😂
Thanks for the review!
“Everything that was in your favourite Fallout games”
Get back to me when New Vegas figures are confirmed.
Well, they are, an NCR ranger standing over the New Vegas neon sign has been released. ;)
Ritchie Kolvers hopefully more to come
I’m not a fan of the card and stick measuring in a ttrpg. This kind of feels like some minor rpg mechanics nailed to the skirmish game, which is not ideal for me.
They give you a Feet and Inches rubric midway through the book; you just need to remember the scale (2/4/6/8/10/12") of the colours and it's pretty quick to memorize.
Guerrilla Miniature Games While that’s good, it’s still not a measuring scale I like in rpgs.
It doesn’t help my feelings on this particular product that it seems to be basing itself off of Fallout 4 where the rpg mechanics were the thinnest and weakest that they’ve ever been in the series.
But hey, that’s just my opinion, if you enjoy it more power to you.
WinterXL Absolutely, for some folks that’s gonna be a huge selling point. It’s just not the style I personally favor. Like I said, if other people enjoy it, the awesome for them, I hope they enjoy themselves. I just would have preferred an ttrpg built more on the rpg elements of Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
I usually don’t like overly complicated rules in tabletop/board games. I just find that it kills the mood as you have to micromanage every twelve seconds. Warhammer is like the most I will go and most people consider that either too complicated (usually new players) but more veterans players too uncomplicated. Fallout Wasteland Warfare was a huge pass for me. I love Fallout but the rules were confusing and really hard to follow. The hundreds of tiny cardboard cutouts were probably the worst as it just made me have to first of all clean them up every time and second of all manage them throughout the whole game. I find that this expansion allowed me to be more free with my gameplay kinda like D&D and the rpg element felt more like Fallout.
