The decision of a possible sale of WWE seems odd. If there is an age issue then Vince does not need to be active or involved in daily operations to remain controlling shareholder. The Board and senior leadership can run the company. He would only be active in his role as WWE shareholder according to the law.
I was under the impression that WWE was a family business and there was talks of passing the company down the family line. They want to buy it... But they probably don't want to pay what Vince wants. I do ultimately think that is going to NBC mostly because of that relationship.
@@patrickfuller1806 There is ZERO proof that NBC wants to buy it and it's these peoples job to know what's going on in the market place, especially when they work for NBC. I think they would know if NBC was interested and according to them NBC is not interested. It's VERY logical. If NBC or FOX buys WWE, how is WWE going to make 1.3 billion in revenue when 80% of their revenue comes from them selling their media rights? FOX and NBC are not going to buy the WWE just to sell the rights to another media company and if they don't then the WWE's revenue will crash, because they won't have to pay the WWE that revenue anymore to air the programming and there is no way in hell that either FOX or NBS can sell enough ad revenue to make 1.3 billion in revenue for the WWE. The sale has to be to a private company or a non-media company. They need to be owned by someone that will continue selling the media rights to other companies. That eliminates Comcast (NBC, Universal, USA, Peacock, HULU), FOX, Disney...That also eliminates the Saudie's because no major media network in the United States will do business with them. I Can see a sale of 30 to 49 percent. As for Saudi, what exactly is wrong with that? Listen to Eric bischoff thoughts about that and maybe you'll change your minds.
The biggest issue with selling to Saudi Arabia is that no major media company in the United States will do business with them. They have been trying to land LIV Golf a TV deal for a long time and since no major company would do business with them the best the Saudi's could do for LIV Golf was the CW Network. A network that has new ownership and is desperate for cheap content, because the CW network has never made a profit, ever. It was basically, the CW getting LIV Golf for practically nothing and CW is not a golf channel. Nor does their core audience watch golf. It makes no sense. So, if they bought WWE, the major networks would pull out to avoid working with the Saudi's. Also, WWE talents like Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and others would quit the WWE in protest. Keep in mind, the Saudi's are the same people who beheaded a journalist who was critical of them.
