People seem to never grasp or have real expectations as to what kind of answers an executive can even provide. The reason interviews with executives are usually rare is because they can’t really say anything that people expect to hear them say. They have to be careful about whatever they do say in their position and answering that way is always going to make people upset because it comes off as disingenuous because they can’t give the answers that people wish they could. But with that in mind people should have those real expectations before they tune into such an interview and understand they’re not going to get some salacious dirt they’re hoping to hear.

If WWE is the Bolshevik party and Vince McMahon is Lenin, then Nick Khan is Stalin while Triple H is Trotsky. Like Stalin, Nick Khan is just a guy who works quietly behind the scenes who suddenly got a powerful position since he played his cards right. Meanwhile Triple H is like Trotsky who has a prominent position and thought to be the heir apparent but got shafted because of Nick Khan's rise in power.

I like the fact that this interview was made, I mean nobody should ever be forced to do interviews but I think its good that Nick Khan decided to do so because the image that some people on the net were trying to paint about him was the image of a devil. Well trained, I suppose. Everything he says is by the book. Obviously some half truths here and there like saying the WWE doesn't pay attention to the competition and never has...They always have and still do. Hell, there's video proof of the producers watching AEW at an NXT event.
But he works for WWE so I suppose a lie or two is to be expected.
Sounds like he's the perfect stooge to maintain their current trajectory. The quality of the product itself will likely see no improvement. He's not that guy.
He also incites some red flags to me as it pertains to his philosophy on acquiring talent. There's not a single thing wrong with pursuing talent outside of wrestling and then building them into WWE superstars. Some of the biggest stars have come from precisely that.
They do, however, seem almost entirely dismissive now of Independent wrestling. They were for a while, then sort of opened the door quite a bit to it but still never invested in anyone who came from that system the way they should have, and now they're back to shutting that door again.
WWE is just going to do what WWE does and maybe it works for some. Hasn't worked for me in a long time. I guess I'm just grateful now to have passionate pro wrestling back in my life on Wednesdays at 8. Good, succinct interview. But I'll stick with the other Khan.
