- For this Bent Plywood Lounge Chair Project I wanted to show that it is possible to use inexpensive materials and basic hand held tools to make curved and hi end looking furniture. I got the plywood from homedepot and used a technique called Kerf Bending to make it more flexible. This Bent Lamination Plywood Lounge Chair was done to kick off the next challenge, the #RocklerBentWoodChallenge that we are hosting on our Podcast. The Modern Maker Podcast.
So Make sure to follow the hashtag on instagram, and listen to episode 151 of the podcast to hear more on it. Full Details below.

knee pads ! :)
I buy my glue from richelieu.com by liongrip which is their own brand. Its commercial glue and not cheap retail and yet I pay around 53$ for 5 gallon my friend;)
you talk to much. no talking. no music.
The King of Winging It!! That came out really awesome!!
Cool project, good job explaining directions too. You’re one of the few channels I’ve seen that explains every detail of what you did.
Such a unique build. I appreciate all the work you put into it. Looks so good.
Your sense of esthetics dude. Amazing feel for beauty.
This is very doable, nice technique and love the design.
Fanstastic final result, really cool curves and aesthetic!
Its cool that you're doing Kerfing and Mike is doing steam bending. gives us the chance to see different techniques.
Awesome work Ben, beautiful chair! 😍👌🏻👍🏻👊🏻
My expectations are high for design when I visit your channel. Once again, not disappointed. Looks comfortable too. Awesome! The Uyeda Chair. Getting an ErogKiwi too. Thanks, Ben!
I love it! I can't wait to see all the entries!
Such a cool looking chair. It’s awesome to see something so cool come using simple tools and materials too (as if that’s not most of your projects, but always appreciated)
Very nicely put together. I like your use of blocks on the molds to clamp your piece. Well done.
Thank you recommending this app btw its just what I was looking for to boost my business. 😭👏🏾👌🏾😊
Loved this video. I have not done kerf bending yet, though i want to give it a go with plywood and timber (pine) too. It was great to see how you worked with the formers too. Thanks.
Espetacular...!!! Seus trabalhos me inspiram muito a realizar os meus... 👏👏
Obrigada por compartilhar seus talentos!!!
Simple. Elegant. Thanks! I really like it.
I really like your chair. I honestly didn't understand the forms you were making until you used them. Very cool and efficient design.
Great project! Thanks for the video and for the diy app recommendation!
Congratulations! Well done.
Ben is all about making lounge chairs...never disappointed in the designs.
It looks great. I've got a few ideas for the challenge. I'm gonna start of with a very simple one tomorrow.

I love your job. Excellent project and execution. Congratulations. big hug from Argentina
Absolutely my fav.!!!!
Turned out cool! I really like how you iterated with the mold as you went, eliminating the pinch points.
thanks Bruce! yeah I prefer just adjusting as I go rather than trying to predict what will work before hand
dude, that looks so cool!!
This mic on the left at the start and end of video... Eurk.
Best chair in any case!

Great project, looks like a lot of hard work but great chair
5:04 I've heard of some people using salt sprinkled between the layers to create grip between the layers ... but I've never done this myself.
Beautiful project thanks for sharing

Thank you for the video tutorial. I like your design and the final piece.
I have the Ryobi tools like yours also. How do you like their saws?
This is incredible!
Thank you 🙏
nice technique .............
Great project!
SPECTACULAR
This is awesome mate, great result from something so simple.
hello
Useful and aesthetic
Fantastic video! The chair is awesome
Great. Thanks.
Really cool chair! Very creative. Just a suggestion for comfort and decor. Maybe add a small pillow with Velcro straps as a cushion for your head/neck.
I thought a headrest would be good, but Velcro strips on the wood would look tacky.;
How about a "pillow" in two halves, one side padded, the other just fabric, that would fit over the top of the chair like a hat.?
Awesome skills.
Top notch!!! 👏🏼👏🏼
Dude is fiiiiine.
Gorgeous
Super technical job Sir .
perfect!
Классно 👍👍👍
Wowzers that is so good!
Wow! Beautiful!
The opening in the chair would be great for newspapers and periodicals, or even a rolled up throw blanket.
Insane work
Отличная работа !
