It's kinda wild to think there was a time where "Jack Black is a good singer" was such an unknown thing, that a movie could literally build a whole "reveal" moment out of the discovery that he can sing. :)

yup. I love this movie and It's been a while since I've watched it so I went back for a little taste. Also, one of the few cases where the movie is better than the book imho.
This was the first time I'd seen Jack Black in this movie, I laughed til I cried during his scenes. He sings great, there's something twisted and sexy about him.
Back in his days, his vocal range was really good, and all this soul he puts into it. It's entertaining and impressive at the same time, he's da man, man! Cheers to him
High Fidelity is one of my favorite movies. There were some awesome scenes with Jack Black. He just changed that movie around with such little screen time. Legend!
I love the TV-edit version. When he walks into the shop while they’re listening to Semour Stein, he goes “HOLY SNOT, WHAT THE FROG IS THAT?!?” Instead of “Holy Shiite, what the fuck is that?” 💀 Makes me crack up every time. …”it’s the album we’ve been listening to and enjoying, BARRY.”
He is very talented but it is his vibe of happiness that connects with people I think and the fact that he respects all of the fore fathers and mothers that are legendary and created the path of music we know today😊
Yeha I wished we would have gotten more tenacious d like rize of the phenix, that was an album with somewhat serious songs. But I guess with so much talent he just isn't allowed to bless us with serious songs :D
Nice flashback..everyone looks so young here. Love Jack Black always & 4ever..& he is a genuinely talented singer, along w/his amazing acting skills. 🙂🙂☮☮✌✌💕💕
You can't help but LOVE his fucking magical pipes, the confidence and the range this dude has with his voice, honestly makes me want to become a better singer and practice everyday
I don’t care how old you are or what generation your from but when you hear Marvin Gays lets get it on you all get into a groove or start singing the song . I was never a product of this song it came out like 2 weeks before I was born .
his vocal range has no bounds and or limits... and his guitar work is second to none..... and his acting...well that goes without saying... and almost without even trying the talent just flows from this man.. and in my opinion a true master of so many talents today and hopefully for many years to come

Jim Carrey would be an obvious funny, and they would be from the same era, but Seth Rogen comes to mind for me. Although, Miles Teller and Dylan O'Brien would be a good duo as well
They set up his character in the movie as a goof, and a poseur. Black wasn't famous at the time, so this scene was a coming out party of sorts. I remember that my reaction was similar to Cusack's.
I enjoy the song, and the movie. It's a nondescript little movie that never gets old, and is always entertaining. It's too bad we don't have movies like it today.
I already knew about Jacks vocal talents before watching this film, but I can imagine how awesome it would have been to watch this film with no knowledge of him. John Cusacks reaction is so great. Damn, I'm gonna have to watch this film again now. It's still one of the best adaptations of a book I've ever watched, despite the fact it completely moves the setting from the UK to the US

From heavy metal to soul, now that's what you call vocal diversity.
