Tenacious D was always a combo of ridiculous raunchy lyrics with some solid musicianship behind them.
I could put this on repeat all day, the clarity and emotion, pure, pure, pure comfort music.
There is something raw and pure about Jack’s voice and Kyle is smiling ear to ear. It’s perfection.
Some people don't take them seriously because they're so goofy. But the fact is they're talented AF!
Some of those Tenacious D songs, silly as they are, are great in a profound way. Like the Ballad of Hollywood Jack and the Rage Cage (can’t remember if that’s what it’s called) is like this beautiful epic about how their friendship has evolved through their success.
Then, of course, Fuck Her Gently is a song that’s like “guys, try to remember that the woman you’re having sex with is a person who needs tenderness.”
Really wonderful musicians and songwriters. They incorporate humor perfectly too. HUGE respect for the D.

He is a really great singer, I think he has been singing since he was young and Kyle is a really neat clean and pretty guitar player. I love their comedy music, but if they did a serious album I'd definitely listen to that too.

Kyle is genuinely a master guitar player. Shredding and intense solos are cool, but really paying attention to what he does and how precise he is, you start to notice the rigid discipline and understand he has for the instrument.

I think the technical prowess of this particular riff is lost on most. To get that sound, when he moves the guitar upwards at the beginning, he is bending the neck of the guitar to make the strings slightly longer and produce a lower tone.
