  • A few flybys of the $120 Ebay catless 3" Turbo-back exhaust. Sounds great for what it is. This was also right after ECS FSI coilpack conversion. Highly recommended! Short install vid of the coilpack conversion kit coming soon.

      I thought so. Not bad for under $200 for an entire exhaust system.

      Was never really a build. Just a few mods. Literally the same car a year later lol.

      It's literally just a no name ebay turbo-back lol. If you search "1.8t turbo back exhaust" on ebay hundreds come up under different sellers some cheaper than others. Definitely plan on buying good clamps or having it welded though. Clamps it comes with don't work at all...

      Just type 1.8t vw exhaust and tons of them pop up. Still have and drive this car everyday with this exhaust. 3 winters now and it's held up fine. I did swap out the clamps for vbands though.

    Just got an 01 beetle s for a cheap daily for work but may do some upgrades to it.

      Derek H Nice! The Turbo S is a bit nicer than mine. Mine only has a 5 speed and 150hp. Turbo S have 6 speed and 180hp! I only paid $1000 for mine with 125,000 miles so I can't complain.

      Vdub Garage got this one for $2000 and it has 130,000. Its a pretty clean car though. I was just searching for a good mpg car sincey commute to work is about 30 min or so.

      Derek H That's awesome. Mine easily gets 40 mpg highway at 60-65 mph. People underestimate them because they are girly cars, but a turbo inlet pipe, 3" exhaust, intercooler upgrade, and stage 2 or 3 tune and you can easily hurt some V8 owners feelings.

      Vdub Garage they honestly don't look bad when they are lowered with some wheels. I may a few upgrades in the future like the ones you stated. I will not complain about the 40 mpg. I live in Columbus Ohio so the traffic is shit. The more mpg the better.

      Speed limit is only 25 on that street or I would have. Sounds amazing WOT though.

  • @pex_the_unalivedrunk6785

    The small town cops must've been busy that day, pretty sure they would have clocked him @ about 40 mph in a 25 mph zone when he shifted from 2nd to 3rd.

      @vdubgarage6781  Před 6 lety

      Nicholas Dobos No I short shifted and slowed down immediately. Probably only 30 mph, and there was a stop sign close by. The exhaust makes it seem faster 👍

      1) Its more unique and probably faster than anything you own. 2) The original exhaust from 2001 lasted over 15 years of salty michigan roads and needed replaced. An exhaust is an exhaust and is still functioning 100% fine to this day. What does it matter where its from?

      Vdub Garage I have a 400hp Stage 2 1.8t Jetta with tons of parts and an entirely forged block. I actually wasn’t coming at you, I was legitimately asking why. You’re better off running like a 3in downpipe 2.5in pipes good piping will last you through many winters. Bring your turbo sound up more as well. If you do the work yourself you won’t be much over what you paid if you’re looking for performance gains

      TheAngryDipper Its lasted going on 4 years now. Really decent quality for an entire exhaust system including downpipe for under $200. Only shit part it came with was the clamps. A few decent clamps and its been awesome and sounds really good also. I wasn't being a dick either lol, or at least not trying too. Didn't want to spend a ton on a daily while I was fixing my MK1.
