Nothing spectacular. Just mowing my lawn with my new MaxPower Mulching Blades from Amazon, and cheap mulch plug that's half the price of Cub Cadets... Also some Milwaukee Quick Lok Weed Trimming.

12v VR6 Swapped MK1 Jetta. Full 3” exhaust from down pipe back. All v-band. Start up and rev. This is just after I finished moving to a full exhaust rather than a side exit. A lot quieter but still really loud under WOT.

Volkswagen 1.8t - ECS Tuning FSI Coilpack Conversion Kit Install Tutorial
zhlédnutí 18KPřed 7 lety
Short install video of the Stage 2 ECS Tuning FSI coilpack conversion. After going through 3 $40 bolt down style coilpacks in less than 1 year and a half I decided to upgrade. FSI coils provide better spark especially for tuned cars, and also reliability. Basically this kit should also work with the later style 1.8t press in coilpacks as well. Car runs much nicer and smoother than before. Also ...

hey man i just got the mr tune with the dsg and im having trouble with the auto tune maker when i put my file in it and its been loading for like 4 hours and its not making my tune
Contact your tuner. Mine still had my powergate set up as a standard powergate tuner and it didn't have the DSG tuning capability. They sent me an updated tune that also unlocked the DSG tune function.
Nice start 😂😅
Did you leave your factory muffler or straight pipe all the way back?
Factory everything in the rear. Straight pipe is way too loud IMO. Stock muffler setup with a straight pipe has a lot more sound and turbo whistle. Sounds pretty good actually. The kit from Ecodiesel Owners Canada comes with the adapter to go back down to the original exhaust size. Highly recommend! Since this video my MPG has gone up from 36 average on my commute to work to 44!
@@vdubgarage6781 so everything you got was from the mrtuning. u got the exhaust kit on there too?
What mpg you getting?
Averaging 44 mpg now. Up from 36 on the same drive to work. Barely 500 miles a full tank up to over 600.
@@vdubgarage6781sweet! I’m planning on getting same setup.
@@thekevin77 Best thing I’ve done to the car. You won’t regret!
@@vdubgarage6781 I just bought this kit, came in today. I also get 36mpg. I can't wait to see the difference!
Thanks a ton for this! I have a 1980 Dasher and the gear shift got stuck in reverse on me while I was in town! I managed to get it into neutral and a neighbor happened to come by and towed me back to my place. Get to crawl under and fix it today, your video is a ton of help! I'm sure the linkage is going to be a big different though, considering the different model.
No problem. Dashers are a bit different being longitudinal mounted engine/trans setup. But I'm sure there is still some adjustment to the shifter setup.
Why no full throttle. Started out a good video but no climax
Speed limit is only 25 on that street or I would have. Sounds amazing WOT though.
I got an '83 GTI VR6 swap project for sale if interested. I got everything to do the swap. Completely parted out an 09 Passat CC to do the build.
still have?

That sound 👍👍😎😎😎
Could you put a link to where you got it can't find it or where I could find another one?

@@vdubgarage6781 alright thanks for the link and tip
@@vdubgarage6781 do you know if all golf and jetty exhaust fit on the beetle
@@itswizardgaming3487 As long as it's 1.8t yes. May have to shorten the exhaust tip.
@@vdubgarage6781 one more question before I purchase the clamps is the full system 3" or just the tip and the rest 2.5?
What did you do about the nuts / studs in between the coil packs?
I have an 84 rabbit with the 1.6L diesel and a 5 speed with rust issues (T.T) trying to repair the body and the brake lines currently, still gathering what I need to repair it
It’s worth it! These cars are starting to appreciate in value now. Just know you will struggle to keep up with traffic. The 1.6d is sssslllooooowwww.

@@vdubgarage6781 as well as getting top of the line glow plugs but yeah
Do you still have this car and how many mpg on highway.
Nope. I sold it a few months ago. Owned it for 5 years or so. It was a great car. Averaged 35 mpg on the highway at 70 miles per hour. It was really good.
how drives it around circles? is the front too heavy?
I have a same shit
That's not st helens that's silver lake sand dunes lol
Nope. Definitely St. Helen trails. I know where I was riding.
They aren’t even close 😂 that’s like a 3 hour drive away from each other
What motor is in the buggy ?
I believe it's either a 1500 or 1600 stock single port.
Cool video, that's the same parking area we use 🐧
It's cool seeing all the different things people bring out to the bowl.
Where did you get those front tires? Are they sports master glts?
I wish I could tell you, the rail is my dads. These tires were probably put on the rail when it was built 30-40 years ago.
Vdub Garage that’s awesome man it’s funny cause my old school sandrail I got from my family has the same front tires and the date on those tires are from 1980
@@dameg3121 Yup these are probably from the same era lol. The rears also. They do really well in the sand though. Better than my Yamaha Warrior.
One of mý dream builds
It's better than I ever expected and faster. Love it so much!
nice sound!
I thought so. Not bad for under $200 for an entire exhaust system.
Good video. That rubber cover under the gear shifter can be repaired once they are cleaned up. I fixed mine up using "Gloozit" adhesive. But you have to clean it thoroughly of any grease for the glue to adhere.
Thanks you! My car never came with one when I bought it and they are unobtainium for a decent price. Just keep the linkage well lubricated every oil change and you don't really need the boot.
@@vdubgarage6781 it might be possible to improvise using a rubber vent roof flashing. I mean, buy something made of very similar material. Just an idea. www.bestmaterials.com/detail.aspx?ID=18890&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1c3XqcOR6QIVQV8NCh3ImwP5EAQYFCABEgJuDvD_BwE
@@jeffkelly636 Yeah it's a decent idea. Not needed for me anymore as this car no longer has a diesel engine. It has a VR6, with an 02A gearbox and 02J shift tower cables from a MK4.
That’s the best way. Swap to cable shift. Ditch the dinky 020 Anyone who says rod linkage is better is crazy. Nothing but problems from shift rods. My corrado cable shift setup is totally original from 1989. And is mint.
The only thing i wanted to see was the relocation of the vacuum hose and it's the only thing you didn't do son so your tutorial is pointless
My bad. The vacuum reservoir is deleted and the line goes from manifold to the fuel pressure regulator, and t'ed into that I ran a line to the diverter valve.
Hey do u have the link to that exhaust I wanna get it
Just type 1.8t vw exhaust and tons of them pop up. Still have and drive this car everyday with this exhaust. 3 winters now and it's held up fine. I did swap out the clamps for vbands though.
Sounds good.
That sound 😍
Dude take your panties off and fucking drive that thing! Like a man!
Did you have any issues with the fitting? I didn't think it was compatible with the early style heads with the bolt down coil pack's 🤔
Nope that's the point of the kit. The plate bolts to the original bolt down coil pack holes and allows you to use push in coil packs.
@@vdubgarage6781 yeah that's what I thought but a few sites I've seen selling it said it's not suitable for early models 🤔 lol I can order one up now though 👍
That’s funny this EBAY shit everybody laughs at purchasing Magna Flow, Borla, and god no’s whatever name brands available on EBAY is not cool? Fucking silly!
Your tach is off
I'm aware. Someone put a 4 cylinder tach in a VR6 car in the shell the engine came from. Reads high.
Hey is this the one you swapped the VR6 into? I have a diesel rabbit and a AAA VR6 motor with ecu & harness, what did you do as far as fueling or getting the ignition connected, thanks!
Yep, for fueling I did -6 AN fuel line with inline Walbro 255 and fuel filters. Kept the stock fuel return line. For wiring I swapped in the MK3 fuse box, engine harness, and complete body harness. You can order wiring from Eurowise or S&P Automotive that is plug and play.
You should do a Top Speed test with the Warrior
Top speed is about 55 mph with stock gear/sprocket ratios. Gets there pretty quick though.
is a warrior a good bike I have been looking to get one
Yes! There is a reason they are one of the best selling quads of all time. I beat the piss out of this thing. Never skipped a beat!
@@vdubgarage6781 Ok Thanks! I just cant find any footage on a warrior becasue all the videos are from 2009
my GTI is completely stock, but want to install this conversion kit. do I NEED to be on any tune stage or is being completely stock fine?
My car is completely stock. Over 2 years later and 0 issues with these coils. The stock 1.8t ones barely lasted me 6 months. Awesome upgrade.
My father had a mk1. Such a nice car. He swapped the original engine for a mk3 golf one. Cool video and upgrade.
This engine, wiring, transmission are all from a 1997 GTI. She moves pretty well. Currently putting a hydraulic clutch conversion in. May make some video's later on. Not sure...
old video but funny beginning hahaha we have all been there though
Shane Sink facts 😂
I take it that it works with the a 4 b6 Quattro 1.8T
Absolutely love your build dude, I'm working on a 79 rabbit 24v swap myself. Are you using the stock mk1 stearing or have you added power stearing?
Thanks dude! It's stock manual steering. Doesn't feel any different than with the stock diesel engine.
THANKS I WILL TRY IT OUT....
Any updates on this build? I love performance new beetles
Was never really a build. Just a few mods. Literally the same car a year later lol.
Great job on it guys it looks/sounds great.Ive been amassing parts for a vr6 swap into my caddy.Only thing I need is a dash/cluster that fit. What dashboard are you guys running? Also is that just the mk3 cluster?
Thanks dude, full 3" catless exhaust with a resonator and small muffler will do that! Lol. Its a mk3 cluster. Gas gauge doesn't work with mk1 anyway so doesn't bother me. Its held in by 2 custom brackets that just screw into the dash.
24v?
12v from a 97 Golf! More than enough for sure! I think the 12v sounds better imo. But they make almost the same power so it's whatever you can get ahold of easier. Went from 54 hp to well over 170 lol.
CJBMAGGOT94 nice I have a mk2 with a 24v! I now want a mk1 with a 24v lol
Is this the one that they sell for golf and jetta?
Can you put the link so i can buy it
It is yes. If you search volkswagen 1.8t turbo back exhaust on ebay things of listings come up.
What mounts did you use for your build? I'm doing the same thing on my 84
S&P mounts. I would go with a company that provides a rear mount that bolts to the diff as this kit doesn't. I think Eurowise, fabless manufacturing, and tech-53 all have the lower trans mount included in their kit.
Vdub Garage thanks for the response man! I will look into the different kits. Make sure to post more videos as you go on!
@@insanitystudios8219 It's been pretty much done for a while, but the oil pump went out and now I have to replace the engine 😔
Hi, does this work for the Golf mk1? 1995 model.
Mk1=mk1
1995 is not Mk1 lol
Any updates on the car?
Yeah was going really well until the oil pump went out a week or so ago... Haven't had a chance to look into it yet. I may make a video soon about it.
Bottom end completely gone :(. Getting a replacement one soon though. Probably just going straight turbo. Screw it lol.
What...no rev? Uhg...won't fit in my 2000 1.8t, the back bumper isn't cut for it. :(
Sorry it was a coldstart... 😔. I have another video on my channel of how it sounds outside the car. My car didn't either. Had to cut the bumper. You could always have an exhaust shop make a turndown tip for you.
@@vdubgarage6781 ahh, yeah...takes a bit for that blue light to go off, i know. I need a new resonator cuz the stock one is rusted out, but i figure while i'm at it i should just try and upgrade...internet sources are vague. Not to mention the temptation of upgrading the turbo to a k04 if feasible. The beetle seems less versatile than the golf or jetta for some reason...even though its based on the same mk IV platform.
@@pex_the_unalivedrunk6785 Its really not engine wise. Its harder to find front mount intercooler upgrades since nobody makes them anymore, the only limiting factor is the injector size is smaller on Beetles for whatever reason. Everything else is the same and bolts up the same. This car came with a K03 and now has a K03s turbo. Didn't change anything but the turbo, but now it holds boost all the way to redline rather than dropping off.
Nice car!
David Reyes Thanks! Still a work in progress, but she is super fun!
What did you do about wiring, did you use the mk3/mk4 vr6 harness or is the eurowise harness
It was informative because I had a problem putting it in 1st gear but had to put it as if I wer to revers wich was really a pain... thanks alot
Dwain Jacobs Awesome! I made this video because telling someone how to do it and reading directions on how to do it was confusing for me. Glad I could help.
