- Frontier Defence is a perfect mode to jump into if you feel like having a chill session with out try too hard! Unless you play on insane! Myself and my brother jumped on this game mode for the first time and I had blast!

@@gmac049 Titans do get upgrades as you play more frontier defense, every titan has 12 Aiges rank with each rank you get upgrades in titan health, Ammo capacity, shield etc, depending upon which titan you are using.
They are most definitely not underrated, they are beloved.

Many people don't play frontier defense? Huh. Well, gotta admit that I'm one of those people who is the opposite of that. Meaning that I don't play the Multiplayer modes and just only plays Frontier Defense.

@@randomstranger_3 In the video it was my first time playing it as I literally only started playing titanfall 2 for the first time 3weeks ago my first week on northstar and then the last 2weeks on the newly updated vanilla servers and I'm just blown away at all aspects of this game and even FD! It was so ahead of it's time and happily playing everyday when I get the chance! I'm excited now to try this mode on insane and il make sure to make a video of it as it will be a funny one to do! 😁😁
Word of advice for this map, on the first wave always try to get a battery from either the first or 2nd nuke titan as that can save you the 400 credits required to get a battery for your titan, freeing you up to buy arc traps, turrets and the sorts

Why even buy the battery at all, is full shield and a bit of core charge actually worth it?
@@egregastandindus1193 certainly helps, shield is good for more aggressive titans and core is always a goodie for monarchs, personally I always buy a battery if I didn't get one from a titan
@@El_Hornio_II shielding as monarch is better if you play cover correctly, and if youre lucky to get a battery from the nuke titans then its even better. im a gen 88 monarch rn 💀

I know man! Better late then never! This game was so ahead of it's time but the bad timing of it's release really messed things for it and you hate to see it!! I wish I had got to play this back when it was released!! Even though I didn't It still holds it's own to this day! Frontier Defense is what I played on Titanfall for a long time, it's just really fun to fight a bunch of titans at once and shred through them (until you get to harder difficulties, then you're fighting through hell). My personal picks for weapons is an SMR, Thunderbolt, and whatever else you like as a pistol. If you buy amped weapons, you're able to shred through the health of titans and reapers (arguably the more important enemy to kill) much quicker.
Im personally a huge fan of using the Soft ball, and archer instead. Softball is beautiful against grunts and mortar spectres, and the archer does great on Master, where you have a limited amount of Titan ammo. Though thunderbolt is probably better in every other difficulty. Though it is my main gamemode, and i absolutely love it!
Oh for sure It is like going through hell when you get into the harder difficulties. I'm trying to get a good game video of getting a win through hard difficulty but keep loosing at the last wave! Its so overwhelming at the best of times, but that's what makes it fun and addictive! So if you buy amped weapons does that count towards your titans weapons as well! @@gmac049 yep. I usually never have bad enough money problems that I need to save 100 cash, so it's usually worth it to grab amped weapoms. More damage = earning your titan back faster anyway. For dps, I recommend scorch, but for survivability I choose monarch. Northstar or legion is also a fine pick if you have them upgraded, but I usually choose my comfort picks for higher difficulties so I don't have any meaningful advice for them. Pilot turret is a waste if it isn't on a wave with a lot of plasma drones (they're usually an enemy that melts the shield like the reapers) and you don't support your turret with your titan's protection. It's good to invest in arc traps to slow the waves, and maybe a nuke rodeo if you feel risky. Finally, use the shield boost right before it goes down so your preserve your bonus at the end of a round.
@@TheVortexBlazterthe softball is a great pick too, but it's simply preference for me. I will say that it's absurdly effective against drones, it's just hitting weakspots on titans with my SMR provides extra value for me. As for the archer, I just don't like having to wait for a lockon. But it's probably better, I just don't bother with it lol

I almost exclusively play this game mode. Only way I can enjoy playing my favorite Titan (scorch) since he’s more about crowd control than 1v1 Titan fights

Btw the long range mode on legion uses twice the ammo and that is why you ran out of ammo so fast

Tip for Legion: when youre in close range of targets, have the crosshair as the square shaped one, and when enemies are really far away, have the gun in the mode you used for the most of the video :D

Three quick tips from a titanfall vet:
1. Don't ADS as much. You generally dont need it; the guns in this game are fairly accurate from the hip.
2. If there's a titan in the first wave, make sure everyone takes turns rodeo-ing it so you all start round 2 with a shield.
3. Try grappling onto enemies. It'll change your life. Not just titans, but the drones, and the grunts too!

Suggest running Legions Enhanced Ammo Capacity Titan kit till you have leveled up your Aegis Rank significantly (only applies to Frontier Defense). It will give you 140 short range bullets (or 70 long range bullets). Not much, but it makes a difference!

Ah frontier defense, when papa scorch becomes an S tier titan
I need to try out papa scorch! So many things I need to try out on this epic game!! :D
Just to state their are “Aegis upgrades” for the titans. Some for them ranging to more health or Ability boosts. These upgrades do not affect other titans meaning you must grind each titan to get their own upgrades. I maxed ronin and it can use 2 increased distance phase dashes(Ghost and Wraith). Block damage transfers to core %(kinetic transfer). As well the final upgrade can increase the core duration by x2 and sword hits gain shield(Blade master). All the upgrades are stated in the titan customization screen and shown in game during each embark and can be gained by playing defense and completing the match goals to get the points to the next upgrade (post game report shows how much you got). Some other upgrades include scorch getting 3 shots(triple threat) and legion having all kits equipped (Dreadnought).

As a new player to titanfall 2 over the last few weeks I was wondering what people meant by aegis titans but you literally just answered my question before I could even ask it!! Ronin I'd say is so good with those upgrades especially in FD as he is fast moving plus his phase dash! Legion and papa scorch as well would fair well in FD! I have to play a bit more to really find out who my favorite titan is and this mode definitely is the best mode to practice on! Before being able to do higher difficulty’s you need to reach a certain aegis rank before being able to play as that titan. As well to warn you before hoping into high difficulty’s (Hard and Master). It is NOT the same as the campaign’s difficulty, enemies will have increased health and dmg along with weapon changes (grunts get charge rifles and stalkers getting epg’s). Enemy titans are able use their abilities more often and dash away from nuke ejection. Enemy spawns may change on different difficulty’s but I’m unsure but the basis of the rounds stay the same(ex rise round 4 is drone rush and nukes) Make sure to have a good squad with you when playing past regular. Their is much more info to learn but I’ll leave that up to you.

With all aegis upgrades ive found monarch to be the best by quite a distance. But they are all good once upgraded.

Oh yeah for sure, not only that but when I first started playing titanfall multiplayer on games of attrition I was so bad at even using my titan, but FD has helped me bring up my titan game a lot!! Its such a good mode!!

Do I play this mode? Um yes and yes, about 90% of my game play is FD. I've gotten to the point where I can solo any map on hard. I run two loadouts, first one is for wave one and is geared for grunts and the other is for rest of the waves. A grenadier weapon does great for this mode.
On Regular I can solo every map with Scorch it's ez, hard is only some of them though, especially not the custom FD on Northstar client that shit is enemy spam galore.
You can solo any map on hard!! WOW!! Maybe because I'm totally new to FD that I find that so impressive, but I think to anyone's standards that's impressive!! :D I'll make sure I use a grenadier weapon on my next go then @dennisklaus! Thanks for the tip!!

advice with legion: i noticed you kept your predator in long range mode. you should keep it in close range most of the time as long range uses twice as much ammo per shot and therefore reloads more often meaning less time you're dealing damage

One tip I cant recommend enough from my own experience is nuke eject, if you get doomed try and put your titan infront of hostile titans and then eject, the AI typically gets stuck and you can get plenty of destroyed hostiles that way
Another tip would be call your titan down ontop of enemy titans if theres a lot, as again it might get the AI stuck trying to walk through dome shield, and a falling titan will instantly destroy one or more titans right where it lands
That's definitely some good advice there @kop1522 Such a handy thing to do as well if your in a bit of a pinch when things get chaotic as they always do and get your titan to destroy other titans as it drops in! And the nuke eject would definitely destroy a couple of titans at least as well! Thanks for the tips and thanks for watching! I really do appreciate it!!!
Some tips and tricks for Frontier Defense:
1: doesnt matter what titan you bring, just bring one you like. You can gain Fronteir defense levels, or Aegis Rank, in each individual titan by completing waves which will upgrade them. Personally i run Monarch, and her Aegis rank is maxed at 24, mostly because i like her survivability.
2: place turrets partially behind cover like the back side of hills, or short handrails, where the gun part is just barely peaking over the lip, this will mitigate the damage they take while maximizing the damage they deal. As a plus, you dont have to repair as often.
3: always pick anped damage and turrets first, then focus on batteries and shock mines. This will maximize the damage you can do, even outside your titan.
4: the SMR is your best friend in Frontier defense; does high damage to infantry, spectres, titans, etc. If you dont use the grapple, use the amped wall; in conjunction with an enhanced autotitan, a skilled player can solo easy mode.
5: have fun! Theres no stakes, so do what you want, challenge youraelf, explore the game mechanics, etc. Frontier defense was designed for players who want the authentic titanfall experience without the madness of titanfall pvp. So play with it.

@@gmac049 heck yeah man, TF2 is my favorite game ever made. In my honest opinion it SHOULD have been the next Halo, but the corpos screwed it up lol. I played the original Titanfall when it first came out, and I've been hooked ever since 😂
It's my job, as an experienced pilot, to be nice and friendly to newcomers, else the game dies drowning in toxicity, something I watched happen to halo and CoD with a very heavy heart. I literally cried when I found out I could play TF2 online again after 5 years of server attacks 😭 so I've been going around to all my friends, most of whom play apex these days, and dragging them into "The Junkyard" with me 😂
Btw, the reason Legion’s minigun has such low ammo is because ur using the ranged mode. U use up like 2x as much ammo when ur in that mode.

i played this game years ago back when i first got Xbox gold so i could play online and man it was a blast, i was heart broken that Titanfall 2 died and it was left to die, but now its FINNALLY back after so many years and im so happy that its back

I never did play this game on its release and I wish I did and I definitely missed out on that, but from playing apex for while and myself being interested in the lore and history of apex legends led me to this game and I honestly can't believe how good it is!! Titanfall 2 was way ahead of its time and with the new lease of life it's been given it's great to see all the old player base return along side all the new players! I think the future is still bright for this game and hopefully we will see a titanfall 3 or something new soon! Thanks for watching the video man! Appreciate you! My favorite Titan to play on Frontier Defense (especially on Hard difficulty) is Scorch, because his AOE capabilities are insane. Once you get all of his Aegis upgrades, he's got an incredible amount of firepower that can just shred entire columns of nuke titans or groups of reapers.

I usually just melee the drones instead of shooting, it destroys faster imo but great video man

@@gmac049 the arc cloud ability also kills them and it helps on titans like scorch that cant shoot them well
@@OpticSpycrab_OGspecific to scorch, but the Thermal Shield is superb at getting rid of the drones while they’re going through a choke point.
One of my favorite frontier defense games was when we had a 4 stack of Legions. It was just gun and more gun. Mortart titans were a bit rough to deal with but was still fun
OMG!! That sounds so sick!! 4 stack of legions is so OP, was that just by chance with randoms or where you all together as a squad! Oh yeah I can imagine how gun power you brought to the table!! @@gmac049 It was just by random chance. I joined and saw three legions that were already locked in, and just thought "why not?". It was fun though, since literally no other enemy Titan was able to make it close. The shield went down a couple times and had some damage, but that was only because of the mortars, and I feel like no one in our team wanted to make the 20+ second journey.
I literally just got done with the insane mode and man those were a stressful five waves let me tell ya

I loved Frontier Defence in Titanfall 1 too, so when I saw it in TF2, I knew it was gonna be something I play frequently when I’m on the game

just think about it for a second. Frontier Defense, Campaign and a whole host of multiplayer modes and loads of maps, AT LAUNCH all in one game. Never happens these days
Man you said it!! Now its all behind a pay wall, and not even that! Games these days don't even get released finished because they rely so much on just having live updates for them, which just makes the games feel like they have no heart! It's a shame really. But its games like these that really keep the gaming population alive at heart! The big corps don't care about pleasing the true fans, its all about money! Maybe they will realise that they would reap more rewards if they just listened to the community as a whole!! I love this game and its a great example of what gaming should be! A really underrated titan for the mode is northstar, with some aegis upgrades and the right kit you can send ridiculous amounts of damage at any range, hitting multiple titans for a third of their health in one shot
That's the titan I actually started playing with as I got used to the northstar from playing the campaign! I just love the mini-gun on legion but I will try level up all my titans and give them all a fair chance! Thank you for the tip and thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed the video!

In this game mode I’ve always loved just spawning my titan and putting it on guard mode next to the harvester. Then I grab a ton of nuke bats and just cause mayhem lmao. Id always have the longest titan life.
That's a good tip actually, can you go round and detonate the nuke bats on other titans? I'm gonna use that tactic next time I play!! :D
@@gmac049 yes you can! You buy them in the armory. It can be risky because you have to be very fast and precise in your movement but it pays off when it works. I also recommend having the hover perk equiped so all you have to do is hold ADS to keep yourself in the air and safe from the nuke titans.

yeah no a pilot operated titan is always better than auto titan
unless if harvester is taking 0 damage and you're actively destroying a decent amount of enemy titans you're throwing the game
I think that for a smaller channel, you are doing very well but I'd like to know if you know of a way you could make other people's (ie your brother's) audio a little clearer/louder? Either way, nice video, keep up the good work!

frontier defense is my favorite part of titanfall 2, one thing i picked up about the enemy titans is that they can't retaliate against a rodeo so that is a really effective way to get a free titan battery, just saying.
It's defo one of the main selling points for me aswell! Yeah your pretty much invincible when your doing a rodeo! Just be sure to get out of there as soon as your finished! Especially in a crowd! :D

Some advice for your grapple mobility will be to learn to bhop slide - it allows you to chain together momentum between grapples, wallruns, and slides so that you can always have a grapple ready with one on cooldown! (Plus its really fun to launch yourself around the map at lightspeed)
I will definitely be practicing my grapple in to bhops a lot more! It does take some time to master but the more I play the more It's coming to me more fluid and I'm slowly piecing together my movement, which instantly makes the game so much more fun!! A little tip from a frontier vet. Always pay attention to your map.
Oh yeah man of course! The amount of concentration you need and awareness at all times especially as you start playing on hard difficulty is so crucial! The gameplay on this video was my very first time playing FD so I probably was making many mistakes! Always good gaming. You know you can drop your titan on enemy titans?
Some great titans for this mode is Monarch, Legion, and Ronin (at least in my opinion)
Who else was getting livid seeing him just sit in long range mode and not use power shot

I don't own titanfall 2 yet because I don't have a computer but I did get to play titanfall 1 on a friend's computer a couple days before they took it off of steam i stayed up the whole night playing
It's just one of those games you can't spend enough time on, and it's consuming all my free time!! I love it!!!
Frontier defence is so good for ranking up your titan and anti titan wepons,
IT TOOK ME FRIKING 50 HRS FOR GET G2.0 MONARCH AND A LEVEL 7 CHARGE RIFLE playing normal Attrition
but when i played Frontier defence, got G3.9 in 1 day
and G2.8 charge rifle in one day
Oh yeah that's for sure!! I'm definitely having a blast leveling up my titan and just getting experience with it. When I first started playing not too long ago really, I picked up the pilot gameplay, but found it a little difficult using my titan against people with more experience then me! But this mode has been so good for me getting better in my titan and learn which one I prefer to use the most! It's also a great mode for going into if you just wanna chill and not sweat so crazy in mp! Thanks noah for coming into the comments man really appreciate it!!
for anyone wanting to play FD, don't use your multiplayer loadout, make one with (preferably) an LMG and one of the rocket launchers as an anti titan weapon. please don't bring a Kraber or Wingman Elite for the love of god.
Fonteir defence is sooooo good to play with friends, nice and chaotic
100% agree man! It can get so out of hand, and if you don't concentrate it can all come crumbling down!! One of my favourite go to modes! :)
i recommend using phase shift instead of grapple once you learn the map; it's incredibly easy to reach the tall walls and rodeo Titans, so grapple becomes less necessary. Couple that with a nuke battery and you can easily take out 4-6 enemy Titans and phase shift before they explode and kill you.

Only really ones know the fear of being on homestead being the only one around the harvester. They know what I am taking about

I absolutely love frontier defence, unfortunately its nearly unplayable because the average player base around the mode is dumber that a bag of bricks.
Oh yeah for sure I love the whole challenge of it! You really have to be good with multi-tasking and awareness at all times as so many things are happening at once! Especially when you play on hard or even higher! Well yes unfortunately I can agree, it does help if you play with a co-ordinated squad! Be handy as well if people that where randoms used coms, would make life a lot easier aswell!

One thing for you to note if you plan to use legion for multiplayer, smartcore is very deadly but a double-edged sword at times. If you use it's it shreds enemy pilots with ease as well as northstars and enemy titans from behind, but against titans that have shield abilities they have on them then it's useless as well as deadly against a titan with the vortex shield because they can throw all over your bullets back at you due to smartcore always aimming at the center of the target it's shooting at. Persision mode is at it's best against these titans because you can shot at the gap of the shield at around their feet. Hopefully it will help out with this info.
Any tips help man for sure! And thanks for coming in and taking your time to watch the video and give your view on the best ways to use titans! I think titans take a lot more practice to master then pilots but once you master titans they are an unstoppable force!! Playing on FD is a great way for me I feel to learn legion and any other titan I feel like using! little tip for ya if there's drones stacked on top of eachother Melee them it can take out multiple at once (Scorch's Thermal shield is THE BEST against these damn annoying drones)

If your titan is doomed an amped battery fixes it out of doomed state

I can well understand, its so good and if you want a challenge just bump up the difficulty level and if you want to chill just lower it! I like to jump on to play FD when I dont feel like sweating my balls of in pvp!! :D

i started playing this in 2024 with my friend (when the servers got fixed) we had a rare occasion where THERE WAS ONLY NUKE TITANS NOT MORTARS NOT ANYTHING ELSE JUST NUKE TITANS it was literal Hell but we ended up on top BECAUSE OF ME PLAYING SCORCH the harvester was left with 1HP
Been 6 years since the incident huh...

Challenge video for you guys. Frontier defense 4 players everyone in the same Titan. I did this by chance with 4 Monarchs and it ended up being really fun.

Three days of playtime and this is the only mode I play. I saw gameplay of multiplayer and I'm good. I like killing the puters

This is basically just Mann vs Machine from team fortress 2, but man do games called tf2 have really good PvE game modes

Okay here is a tip for you steal batterys from titans never buy them they are a waste of money just put that 400 into a sentry and a harvester shield

@@gmac049 Be careful as they can melee you but if you start from the back ones you should be ok. It gets a bit to chaotic in later waves to do this but if you are without a titan and see some it is always worth it.

Well, the frontier defense is good place to learn titan abilities. You should use them as often as possible in that mode.

Every titan would be good. Every one of them have pros and cons. I will give you my opinion about difficulty of learning each titan:
Ion - easy/medium.
Tone - easy
Ronin - medium
Polaris - easy
Legion - medium
Scorch - hard
Monarch - medium/hard
