Why do they always answer "I got scared" when asked why they were attempting to flee the police. Is it because of systemic racism? Or is it because they're always in violation of the law and the police tend to hold them accountable for those actions? Just curious.
It's basically the second thing you said. They say "I was scared" but the implied ending to the sentence is "of being held accountable for my criminal behavior". They're already committing crimes so they'd rather commit even more crimes (fleeing and eluding) for the small chance that they get away.
